Meghan Markle said the holidays feel better each year as her children grow and understand more of the celebrations. The remark came in a 2024 Marie Claire interview, reported by The Independent on November 23—not in a new 2026 statement.

In The Independent’s account of the interview, Meghan said she loves the holidays and explained that the experience has changed as Archie and Lilibet have grown. They were described as five and three at the time of the 2024 interview; those are not their current ages.
“At first, I think as a mom with children, you’re just enjoying having them there, but they’re not understanding everything that’s happening yet,” she said. “But now we’re at the age where I just can’t wait to see it through their lens every year.”
The point was not that the family’s celebrations become more elaborate. It was that the children can take in more of what is happening, making familiar holidays feel like “a new adventure,” as Meghan put it.
