Bowsette is a fan-created character that imagines Bowser transformed into a Peach-like princess using the Super Crown. She is not established as an official Nintendo character in the sources available here. The idea began with a 2018 fan comic inspired by the Super Crown’s official transformation of Toadette into Peachette.
Who is Bowsette?
Bowsette combines Bowser, the Mario series antagonist, with a Peach-like appearance. The character is commonly depicted as a princess-like version of Bowser, but the exact design varies across fan art. The name “Koopa-Hime,” meaning “Princess Koopa,” is also associated with the character.
Who created Bowsette?
Contemporary coverage attributes the original comic to artist @ayyk92, also known as Haniwa, and dates it to 19 September 2018. Nintendo Wire quoted the comic’s caption as: “The Super Crown’s some spicy new Mario lore.” Nintendo Wire’s 2018 report traced how the idea spread internationally. It reported more than one million related tweets globally during that trend; that is a figure reported at the time, not a current count.
What does the Super Crown do?
In New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, Toadette transforms into Peachette when she collects the Super Crown. Nintendo’s game page describes that official mechanic: “And if Toadette powers up with a Super Crown, she transforms into Peachette!” Bowsette’s origin comic imagines Bowser using the same item, extending the premise as a fan-created joke rather than documenting a game transformation.

Is Bowsette an official Nintendo character?
The sources distinguish the official game mechanic from the fan extrapolation: Nintendo documents Toadette becoming Peachette, while contemporary coverage attributes Bowsette to @ayyk92’s fan comic. They do not establish Bowsette as an official Nintendo character. This is a distinction based on the available documentation, not a quoted Nintendo statement specifically denying the character.
How does Bowsette relate to Super Mario Odyssey concept art?
A separate report about The Art of Super Mario Odyssey described earlier concept art involving Bowser and Peach. That earlier, reported concept is not the same thing as the 2018 Super Crown comic. Its existence does not make the fan-created Bowsette an official game character.
