Season 2 cast additions and expanded roles
Season 2 widens the family and relationship map. AMC’s Season 2 character guide and December 2024 cast announcement identify these additions and returning performers.

| Alyssa Jirrels | Moira Mayfair | Rowan’s cousin and Tessa’s sister. She can read minds and blames Lasher for Tessa’s death. |
| Ben Feldman | Sam “Lark” Larkin | Rowan’s ex-boyfriend and a genetics-firm CEO who returns to her life after she asks him for a favor. |
| Ted Levine | Julien Mayfair | Cortland’s father, a powerful witch and the male designee of his generation. |
| Madison Wolfe | Tessa | Moira’s sister. AMC’s guide identifies her death as the reason for Moira’s blame of Lasher; it does not provide further character detail. |
The December 2024 announcement also lists Thora Birch among Season 2’s additional cast, but the cited announcement and guide do not establish a character description to include here.

How Rowan, Lasher and the Mayfair generations connect
The series’ central conflict is rooted in an intergenerational pact. AMC’s Season 2 guide says the original matriarch, Suzanne Mayfair, called forth Lasher and established the pact. In each generation, one “designee” can communicate with, command and see him. Julien was the designee of his generation; Rowan’s discovery of her powers and her later position as the 13th witch bring her to the center of the family’s present struggle.
Cortland’s pursuit of power and wealth is also connected to his relationship with his father Julien. The family spans generations and countries, but its bond with Lasher is the through-line linking Rowan’s inheritance to the older Mayfairs.

Season 3 casting announcement
AMC announced on October 29, 2025 that Betsy Brandt would join Mayfair Witches as a series regular playing Katherine, and that Season 3 production was due to begin that week in Vancouver. This is the scope of that dated announcement; it does not establish the show’s present production or release status.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What the TV series is based on
Mayfair Witches is based on Anne Rice’s Lives of the Mayfair Witches trilogy, including the novel The Witching Hour. The television adaptation is its own version of the story; this cast guide does not assume that every book plot point appears on screen. AMC’s original 2023 renewal announcement described the first season as eight episodes and called it AMC+’s most-viewed series season over its first 30 days. That audience claim was AMC Networks’ own historical statement, not an independently verified audience statistic.
