Renee Poche alleged in a lawsuit that her former fiancé, Carter Wall, behaved abusively during the filming of Love Is Blind season 5. Those allegations have not been established by a court. Poche sued production company Delirium TV and Netflix over the participant agreement and related arbitration—not Wall, who was not named as a defendant.

What did Renee Poche allege about Carter Wall?

Poche’s complaint alleged that Wall displayed erratic and emotionally abusive behavior during their relationship on the show, and that she became afraid to be around him. These are claims in her pleading, not a judicial finding that Wall abused her. Read the complaint.

Poche also alleged that production staff knew about concerning behavior and encouraged her to continue filming. According to the complaint, she was led to believe she could face legal action if she left or refused to move forward. Those claims about production are allegations as well; the complaint does not establish that they occurred.

Why weren’t Renee and Carter shown in Love Is Blind season 5?

Their relationship did not appear in the season 5 episodes that aired. In an October 2023 interview, Poche said that she and Wall reached the altar and that she ended the relationship. That account is hers; it was not shown in the broadcast episodes. Marie Claire’s retrospective coverage discusses the omitted story.

What happened with Renee Poche’s lawsuit?

Poche’s complaint named Delirium TV and Netflix, not Wall. It challenged the participant agreement, including its nondisclosure provisions, in the context of a separate contract dispute. The complaint said Delirium had initiated arbitration over alleged agreement violations and sought $4 million. It also said Poche earned $8,000 from the program. Those figures are claims in the complaint, not an award, payment, or finding of liability. See the complaint’s account of the dispute.

Delirium’s court filings offered a counter-position: as reported by The Washington Post, the company characterized Poche as an enthusiastic participant and said she had been warned about violating her agreement. The Post reported that Netflix did not respond to its request for comment by publication. That contract-related position does not resolve Poche’s allegations about Wall or production. The Washington Post’s report covers the parties’ positions.

Where does the arbitration stand?

In March 2024, a California judge sent the contract dispute to arbitration, according to Bloomberg Law. In April 2025, Courthouse News Service reported that a judge declined to halt the arbitration. The sources available through October 4, 2026 do not establish a final arbitration award or settlement, so the outcome is not publicly established here. Bloomberg Law’s report covers the referral; Courthouse News Service’s report covers the later ruling.
