Lisa Manobal, of BLACKPINK, attended the Met Gala for the first time at the May 5, 2025 event, themed “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.” Her Louis Vuitton ensemble combined a black embellished blazer or tailored jacket with matching crystal-embellished briefs, sheer hosiery and a pearl-and-chain belt.

Why coverage called it a “pantless” look
The jacket ended above the briefs, leaving the decorated underwear clearly visible. That styling placed Lisa within the 2025 red-carpet trend of wearing visible briefs, bodysuits or bare legs instead of conventional trousers or a skirt. She was wearing underwear; “pantless” is a fashion shorthand for the absence of an over-garment covering it.
What the faces on Lisa’s underwear represented
Some online commenters initially identified one face as Rosa Parks. An artist representative told the Associated Press on May 6, 2025, that the images were “portraits of figures who have been a part of the artist’s life.” The representative specifically clarified that the figure was not Rosa Parks, so that identification should be treated as a documented misinterpretation rather than the garment’s stated subject.

Who designed the glittering blazer?
Louis Vuitton was credited with the complete look. Vogue linked the creative development to Pharrell Williams and Henry Taylor, while Vogue’s fitting video credited Jiksa van Rossum as the Louis Vuitton womenswear designer involved in the final fitting. The Taylor portraits and the tailored construction connected the outfit to the gala’s focus on Black style and tailoring.

Surface and shine
Crystal embellishment on the jacket and briefs produced a coordinated glitter effect rather than a plain underwear-as-outerwear contrast.
