Liam Neeson and Glenn Close read excerpts from two different Trump indictments in a 47-minute episode of Prosecuting Donald Trump: Neeson reads from the federal January 6 election-interference case, while Close reads from the New York business-records case. The March 21, 2024 episode also features legal commentary from hosts Andrew Weissmann and Melissa Murray; it is a podcast discussion, not a standalone film or staged performance.
Which episode features the readings?
The episode is titled “The Trump Indictments, read by Glenn Close and Liam Neeson.” Apple Podcasts lists it under Prosecuting Donald Trump, with a publication date of March 21, 2024, and a runtime of 47 minutes. View the Apple Podcasts listing.

Which indictment does each actor read?
| Reader | Document discussed | What it concerns |
|---|---|---|
| Liam Neeson | Federal indictment associated with Special Counsel Jack Smith | Allegations concerning efforts to interfere with the 2020 election result, including events related to January 6. |
| Glenn Close | New York indictment associated with Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg | Alleged falsification of business records connected to payments made before the 2016 election. |
These are allegations set out in charging documents, not findings established by the actors’ readings. The episode presents selected passages alongside commentary; it should not be treated as a current account of the cases’ procedural status.

What do Weissmann and Murray add?
Weissmann and Murray place the excerpts in legal context and discuss how readers can make sense of indictments written in legal language. In the episode transcript, Murray describes the aim as making the documents accessible to people who may not be lawyers or may not work regularly with criminal or constitutional law.
“I think we are helping out everyone by trying to break this down, recognizing that not everyone who reads these indictments is going to be a lawyer, and not everyone who is a lawyer who reads this indictment is going to be as teched up on the criminal law or the constitutional law to make this easy reading.”

The episode also discusses the hosts’ companion book, The Trump Indictments: The Historic Charging Documents with Commentary. Weissmann and Murray explain that it collects the four indictments with explanatory material; Apple’s episode description notes extensive footnotes, commentary, and a cast of characters. The book is relevant for readers seeking the documents in a more guided format, rather than another performance of the excerpts.
