What features does LEGO describe?
According to LEGO’s product description, a light brick illuminates the Eye, which moves in all directions. The main gate opens and closes when a brick button is turned. The listing also mentions a Palantír and hidden details. These are manufacturer-described features; they have not been independently tested here.
What does an independent review say?
Brickset’s review calls Barad-dûr “an outstanding counterpart” to LEGO Rivendell and praises its minifigures, including Sauron. That is Brickset’s assessment, not a broad critical consensus; Brickset also notes that LEGO supplied the set for review. Its comparison makes Rivendell a useful reference point for fans considering another large Middle-earth display model, but the available information does not establish a current price or full side-by-side specification comparison.
