Yes—Gege Akutami’s Jujutsu Kaisen manga has ended. But the January 2024 report behind the “major twist teased” headline did not reveal a twist: it said editor Junya Fukuda knew the ending because Akutami had told him, and that Fukuda felt joyful after hearing it. Fukuda did not disclose the ending, and the report did not identify a particular plot revelation.
What did the editor say about the ending?
A January 14, 2024 report by ComicBook.com, describing a Japanese interview with editor Junya Fukuda, said Akutami had already told Fukuda how the manga would end. The report also said Fukuda felt joyful after learning the ending. It did not publish a direct quote from Fukuda disclosing what happens, nor name a specific twist.
So the supported news was that the editor knew the planned ending—not that readers had been told what it was. The headline’s “major twist teased” phrasing suggests a concrete revelation, but the available report does not substantiate one.
When did the manga finish?
On August 19, 2024, Akutami announced that five chapters remained. In a message reproduced by ComicBook.com, he thanked readers for making it possible to finish the story as he wanted and said he was working on a final chapter that would, he hoped, satisfy as many supporters as possible. “Five chapters” was the count at the time of that announcement, not a current estimate.

The original manga subsequently concluded. ORICON NEWS reporting, surfaced through a search-result listing, says its final chapter appeared in the September 30, 2024 issue of Weekly Shonen Jump. The same secondary reporting attributes more than 100 million copies sold and a serialization run of six and a half years to the series; those figures were not independently confirmed from the underlying ORICON page.

A May 2, 2026 ComicBook.com report says Akutami later described the story as over in material associated with the final volume of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, a follow-on story that concluded in 2026. That is secondary reporting; the primary volume statement was not available for direct confirmation. In any case, it is distinct from the 2024 conclusion of the original manga.
