Yes. Arcane includes kissing, implied sex, and brief partial nudity. It also contains strong or bloody violence, strong language, drug-related content, and some alcohol use. The amount and type of content vary by episode, so viewers weighing suitability should check the guidance for the season and country they are watching.
What sexual content and nudity appear in Arcane?
The UK British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) describes a brief, discreetly portrayed sex scene in season 1, along with sex references and a brothel visit in other episodes. Its season 1 advice also notes brief partial sexualised breast nudity. For season 2, the BBFC describes a couple kissing and beginning to undress before sex is implied off-screen. Common Sense Media also flags kissing, sex, oral sex, and brief partial nudity in its parent-facing guide. These descriptions do not mean every episode contains the same material or level of explicitness.
For episode-level details, consult the BBFC season 1 classifications and BBFC season 2 classifications.
What other mature content should viewers know about?
Violence and injury
The BBFC identifies strong or bloody violence in episodes from both seasons. Its descriptions include fights, weapons, stabbings, shootings, blood, injuries, and dead bodies, as well as threat and distressing scenes.

What age rating does Arcane have?
There is no single rating that applies everywhere. Netflix says ratings may be set by Netflix or a local standards organization, and that a series details page may show the overall or highest maturity level. Season ratings can differ, too. Netflix defines TV-14 as “Parents strongly cautioned. May not be suitable for ages under 14.” Check the rating and content descriptors displayed in your country for the season you plan to watch; a rating from another country is not a universal classification. See Netflix’s explanation of maturity ratings.
Common Sense Media recommends Arcane for ages 14 and up. That is the publisher’s guidance for families, not a universal legal age limit. Its parent guide to Arcane provides another perspective on the show’s content.

- Open the show’s details page on Netflix and read the maturity rating and content descriptors shown for your country.
- Check the season-specific rating, since seasons may differ and the series page may display the highest overall level.
- If a particular scene or category matters, consult the BBFC’s episode-level advice and compare it with the parent guidance from Common Sense Media.
For a focused check, compare the country or rating authority, the season and episode, and the category you care about—sex and nudity, violence, language, drugs, or threat. Episode advice can be more specific than an overall series rating.
