Captain America: Brave New World is no longer limited to theaters or premium digital rental. It arrived on Disney+ on May 28, 2025, and remains available there as part of the Disney+ catalog in the U.S., according to the official Disney+ title page.
The film can still be rented or purchased digitally if you prefer not to start a subscription. Just be careful with the word “streaming”: Amazon Video, Apple TV, and Fandango At Home currently offer paid digital transactions, while Disney+ is the subscription-streaming option.

Disney’s current U.S. standalone prices listed in its Disney+ pricing information are:

- As he takes on the mantle of Captain America, Sam Wilson soon finds himself in the middle of an international incident. In a race against time, Sam must unravel a nefarious global plot before the true mastermind has the entire world seeing red. Warning: Some flashing-lights scenes in this film may affect photosensitive viewers.
- $11.99 per month: ad-supported Disney+ plan
- $18.99 per month: Premium Disney+ plan without ads
- $189.99 per year: annual Premium plan
Disney+ currently says it does not offer a free trial. Bundles, promotions, and subscriptions billed through another company may have different prices or terms. Being “included with Disney+” therefore does not mean the movie is free to watch without paying: it is included for subscribers with an active plan.
The Disney+ listing identifies the film as a 2025 PG-13 movie with a runtime rounded to approximately two hours. It also lists an IMAX Enhanced presentation, audio description, and subtitles or closed captions. The exact presentation you receive can depend on your plan, device, app, internet connection, and home theater equipment.
Where else can you watch the movie?
If you want a one-time viewing or a digital copy, the current U.S. options are below. These are price snapshots checked on August 10, 2026; retailer prices can change because of promotions, taxes, device, account, or regional differences.
| Service | Current U.S. option | Price snapshot |
|---|---|---|
| Disney+ | Subscription streaming | Included with an active Disney+ plan; standalone plans start at $11.99/month with ads |
| Amazon Video | Digital rental or purchase | $3.99 rental; $9.99 purchase |
| Apple TV Store | Digital rental or purchase | $5.99 rental; $9.99 purchase |

A rental is generally the least expensive choice for one viewing. A purchase costs more upfront but is more practical if you expect to watch the film repeatedly. A digital purchase is associated with the retailer account where you bought it, so using the store you already rely on can avoid adding another digital library.
Retailer versions may not have identical picture quality, sound formats, subtitles, bonus features, or device support. For example, the Apple TV listing identifies Dolby Atmos, Dolby 7.1, audio description, and closed captions, but actual playback depends on the title version, territory, device, app, and audio system.
Is Captain America: Brave New World included with Amazon Prime?
Not according to the current U.S. availability listing. You can watch the movie through Amazon’s digital store, but the listing is for a paid rental or purchase rather than evidence that the movie is included with a standard Amazon Prime membership.
Before confirming an order, look for the specific option shown on the Amazon page. “Watch with Prime” or a similar subscription label indicates inclusion; a rental price or purchase price indicates a separate transaction. Having Prime does not automatically make every movie listed on Prime Video free to subscribers.

Is it on Hulu?
Do not treat a Disney+/Hulu bundle as proof that the film is a standalone Hulu title. The current U.S. availability check identifies Disney+ as the subscription service for this movie. If you subscribe to a bundle, open the Disney+ portion of your service and search there.
Streaming catalogs are country-specific, and a title’s placement can change. The current answer is therefore more precise than simply saying the movie is “on Disney.” In the U.S., the confirmed destination is Disney+.
Can you watch it for free?
There is no free legal streaming option listed in the current U.S. availability check. The film is included with Disney+, but Disney+ itself requires a paid subscription and currently says it does not offer a free trial.
The least expensive legitimate one-time option is currently a digital rental, with listings beginning at $3.99. Avoid websites offering unauthorized free copies, torrents, or unofficial uploads. Apart from the legal and security risks, those sources may expose viewers to misleading downloads, intrusive advertising, or poor-quality files.
What role does Harrison Ford play?
Harrison Ford plays President Thaddeus Ross, who becomes the Red Hulk. This is Ford’s Marvel Cinematic Universe debut, not a turn as Captain America. Apple’s official listing identifies Ford’s character as “President Thaddeus Ross / Red Hulk,” and Marvel has described Ford’s role as his entry into the MCU.
Anthony Mackie plays Sam Wilson/Captain America. Sam inherited the shield after Steve Rogers and is the central hero of the film. Ford’s Ross is an important part of the story, but “Harrison Ford’s Marvel debut” should not be confused with Ford playing the title character.
What is the movie about?
In this spoiler-light Marvel thriller, Sam Wilson meets newly elected U.S. President Thaddeus Ross and becomes caught in an international incident. He must uncover a global conspiracy before its mastermind sends the world into chaos.

- Steve Rogers wields the shield in Captain America: The First Avenger, Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Captain America: Civil War. Then it?s Sam Wilson who unleashes his wings and takes up the mantle in Captain America: Brave New World. Join them as they fight evil global forces with this action-packed 4-movie set.
The film continues Sam Wilson’s story after The Falcon and the Winter Soldier while bringing the Captain America role into a new political and international conflict. It also reconnects with characters and story elements from earlier Marvel films without requiring viewers to complete a full MCU rewatch first.

When did it come out at home?
The home-release schedule was:
- February 14, 2025: U.S. theatrical release
- April 15, 2025: digital rental and purchase release
- May 13, 2025: 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD release
- May 28, 2025: Disney+ streaming debut
Marvel’s announcement of the Disney+ release and physical formats is available in its official home-release article. The earlier April digital date explains why some older articles refer to the movie as “streaming” even though viewers then had to rent or buy it rather than watch it through a subscription catalog.
Should you buy the 4K, Blu-ray, or DVD?
The physical release is available in 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD. It may be the better choice for viewers who want a physical copy, predictable disc-based quality, bonus material, or access without depending on a streaming catalog.
Marvel says the digital and Blu-ray releases include bonus content such as deleted scenes, a gag reel, featurettes, and filmmaker commentary. A disc does require a compatible player and costs more upfront than a rental, but it is not subject to the same streaming-library changes as a subscription title.
What should you watch before Brave New World?
You do not need to watch every Marvel movie and series to follow the basic story. These three titles provide the most useful background:

- The Falcon and the Winter Soldier: the most important preparation, because it establishes Sam Wilson’s transition from Falcon to Captain America and explains why he now carries the shield.
- Captain America: Civil War: useful context for Sam, the political conflict surrounding Captain America, and the broader history of Thaddeus Ross in the MCU.
- The Incredible Hulk: provides earlier background on Ross and his history with Bruce Banner.
These are helpful context rather than required viewing. If you only have time for one, start with The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

How to find and play it on Disney+
- Open the Disney+ app or visit DisneyPlus.com.
- Search for Captain America: Brave New World.
- Select the title featuring Anthony Mackie and Harrison Ford.
- Choose Play.
If it does not appear, try these checks:
- Confirm that the account is signed in and the subscription is active.
- Check the profile’s age-rating or parental-control settings.
- Confirm that the account is using the correct country or region.
- Search the released title rather than only “Captain America 4.”
- Update, close, and restart the Disney+ app if the catalog has not refreshed.
Some retailer and database URLs still use the former working title, Captain America: New World Order. That title can be useful as a search keyword, but the released film’s official title is Captain America: Brave New World.
