What evidence exists for the claim?
The historical report names Lady Gaga
A 2010 All About Jazz roundup included the statement, “Pop star Lady Gaga has become the most deleted artist on Last.fm.” It is a dated secondary report: it gives no measurement method and does not establish a current ranking. It names Lady Gaga, not Britney Spears.
A later recollection describes one user’s account

Is Britney Spears the most deleted artist on Last.fm?

- Scope: whether the result concerns one user’s library or all Last.fm users.
- Definition: what action counts as an artist being “deleted,” and whether the metric counts scrobbles, users, or deletion events.
- Time period: when the deletions were measured and whether the ranking is historical or current.
- Method: how the data were collected and how artists were compared.
Without those details, an account-specific feature or an old report cannot establish a current platform-wide ranking.
