What Larson’s video showed
Us Weekly reported that Larson shared an Instagram video of rehearsals for Elektra, showing her with a closely shaved head. The footage was presented as a glimpse of the production process, not as a beauty tutorial or product demonstration.
Us Weekly reproduced Larson’s caption: “Made this video to give a taste of what the last few months have been for me as we prepare for our West End debut.” The outlet also quoted her describing the video as a way “to get inside ‘Elektra’ the play,” and discussing the rehearsal space and the work of building the production.
Was the video makeup-free?
The reporting does not confirm that Larson was wearing no makeup in the video. While that description has circulated in reader discussion, it is not reliable evidence of what the footage shows. Larson’s official Linktree points to her social accounts but does not identify or verify this particular post. The most precise description supported by the available account is that it was an Elektra rehearsal video featuring her shaved head.

The shaved look followed an earlier pixie cut
The shaved-head footage was not the same reveal as Larson’s earlier short haircut. Vogue reported on November 25, 2024 that Larson had revealed a brunette pixie cut ahead of Elektra. Her hairstylist, Cervando Maldonado, told Vogue: “I was inspired by Winona Ryder, Jean Seberg, Mia Farrow, and Edie Sedgwick to create this new look.” The pixie cut and the later shaved appearance were distinct milestones in the lead-up to the production.
What the footage does—and does not—establish
The account ties Larson’s shaved-head appearance to preparing for a specific stage role and to her own description of the video as a record of the preceding months. It does not establish an associated product endorsement or identify products used. Nothing in the cited reporting supports treating the footage as a makeup demonstration or a standalone makeover reveal.
