What is the official title of Beverly Hills Cop 4?
The official title is Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F, not Beverly Hills Cop 4. Netflix uses “Beverly Hills Cop 4” as a search-friendly description in its editorial coverage, but Axel F is the formal title of the fourth film. Using both names is useful because viewers commonly search for the sequel by its franchise number.
When was Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F released?
Netflix released Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F on July 3, 2024. Netflix Tudum identifies the film as the fourth entry in the franchise and describes its arrival on Netflix in its release-date and plot coverage.
What is Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F about?
Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F follows Eddie Murphy’s Detroit detective Axel Foley after his daughter Jane’s life is threatened. Axel and Jane work with a new partner while Axel reconnects with longtime Beverly Hills associates and investigates a conspiracy.
Eddie Murphy returns as Axel Foley. The principal cast also includes Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Taylour Paige, Judge Reinhold, John Ashton, Paul Reiser, Bronson Pinchot, and Kevin Bacon. Netflix’s official Axel F title page provides the film’s cast and related information.

What are the runtime and rating?
In the U.S. listing, Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F has an approximate runtime of 1 hour 58 minutes and an R rating. Those details are U.S.-listing metadata; ratings and runtimes can differ slightly by market or by the way a platform presents a title.
Is Beverly Hills Cop 4 free to stream?
No free streaming option was shown in the latest checked U.S. listing. JustWatch listed Netflix and Netflix Standard with Ads on July 15, 2026, but that result should not be treated as a permanent rule: streaming catalogs, plan availability, and regional licensing can change.
The ad-supported Netflix plan is not the same as a free viewing option. It is a Netflix subscription tier, so viewers should confirm the current plan requirements and price directly with Netflix before signing up.
Do you need to watch the first three Beverly Hills Cop movies?
No, watching the first three films is not required to follow the main story in Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F. The sequel establishes its central situation—Axel returns to Beverly Hills after his daughter is placed in danger—clearly enough for newcomers.

Watching the earlier films is worthwhile if you want the returning characters, established relationships, and franchise callbacks to carry more weight. The first movie, Beverly Hills Cop (1984), is the most direct catch-up choice because it introduces Axel Foley and his original Beverly Hills case.
Want to revisit Axel Foley’s first case?
The original Beverly Hills Cop is listed in DVD and Blu-ray formats on Prime Video. A Beverly Hills Cop Blu-ray is a companion option for catching up with the 1984 film—not a claim that Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F itself has a current Blu-ray or DVD release. Check the live product listing for current format, seller, price, and inventory details.
Because the original-film listing is a retailer/platform page, its current physical-media availability should be checked immediately before publication or purchase. The listing supports the original film as a catch-up option, but it does not establish a home-video release for the 2024 sequel.
How can you check whether the movie is still available?
Search for both Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F and Beverly Hills Cop 4, then confirm the country selected in the availability tool. A current check streaming availability search is useful because Netflix catalogs and ad-supported plan listings can change without changing the film’s title or release date.
The confirmed result in this research is Netflix in the United States. A streaming-discovery service can help compare current options, but the availability result should identify the territory and the date checked rather than imply that the film is available everywhere.
Is there a Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F soundtrack?
Yes. Apple Music lists Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F (Soundtrack from the Netflix Film) by Lorne Balfe as a 2024 soundtrack album with 14 songs and a 41-minute runtime. The official Apple Music soundtrack listing supports the digital music details; the research does not establish a physical CD or vinyl edition.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What should you know before looking for a Blu-ray?
Do not search for or describe a Beverly Hills Cop 4 Blu-ray as though the sequel’s physical release were confirmed. The supported physical-media opportunity is the original 1984 Beverly Hills Cop. For Axel F, Netflix streaming is the confirmed U.S. viewing route in the researched listing, and any later DVD or Blu-ray claim would require a fresh authoritative product listing.
Availability note: The U.S. streaming result in this article was checked on July 15, 2026, with the research timestamp recorded as August 12, 2026. Recheck Netflix and the U.S. availability tracker immediately before publication because platform catalogs, plan names, regional rights, prices, and physical-media inventory are volatile.
