The Inside Out 2 trailer brings viewers back to Riley’s mind as she enters her teenage years, introducing Ennui, Envy, and Embarrassment among the new emotions at Headquarters. Disney’s official synopsis names a fourth new arrival as well: Anxiety.
What the trailer establishes
The sequel returns to Riley as a newly minted teenager. Her mind’s Headquarters must make room for new emotions, and the trailer introduces Ennui, Envy, and Embarrassment in that setting. These are three of the new emotions—not the complete list named in Disney’s official synopsis.
Disney’s synopsis also lists Anxiety. Pixar’s official film page provides the studio’s premise and character context, while Disney Video’s page identifies the official trailer.
Who are the three emotions named in the title?
Ennui
Ennui is one of the new emotions introduced in the trailer. The official materials establish her as part of the emotions arriving in Riley’s mind; they do not make her a clinical diagnosis or explain adolescent development as psychology.
