Amazon lists Liz Callaway as the voice of the Speaker of God in Hazbin Hotel. Season 2’s behind-the-scenes accounts offer context about the show’s broader creative process, but do not explain why Callaway was cast or how the character was designed or conceived.
Who voices the Speaker of God?
Amazon’s cast guide credits Liz Callaway as “The Speaker of God.” It confirms the performer, but gives no casting rationale or character-specific production detail.
What is known about the character—and what is not?
The available production accounts do not explain the Speaker of God’s design, voice direction, or full narrative significance. They also do not establish that the character represents a particular theological figure or draws on a specific inspiration. Those ideas may be discussed as viewer interpretations, but they should not be presented as confirmed production facts.
What Season 2’s production accounts reveal

How the songwriters joined story discussions
In a June 3, 2026 interview with Cartoon Contender, songwriters Sam Haft and Andrew Underberg described a more integrated songwriting process for Season 2. Haft said the songwriters joined a “Story Summit” with Medrano, the writing team, and some producers to discuss the season’s plot, how it would unfold across episodes, song placement, and creative direction.

- Animated Body Turns On The Base
- Musical feature includes 8 Christmas songs
- Wreath pre lit with red LED lights
- Measures 24 inches high by 10 inches wide by 7 inches deep
As Haft put it: “We participated in something called the Story Summit, which was when Vivienne and the whole writing team got together with us, and a couple of the producers, and just kind of talked about the plot of the season, how it would unfold episode to episode, and for our contribution, where the songs would go, and how those songs might be creative directed.”
Underberg added that most of the cast had been chosen while songs were being written, unlike Season 1, when the songwriters often did not know who would perform them: “And we also knew who would be playing the characters because everyone, or most people were cast, which was not the case for Season 1…” The interview describes the season-wide workflow; it does not say whether or how those discussions shaped the Speaker of God specifically.
