Ice Spice’s “Ain’t Even the Fart” tease was a January 2024 preview, not a new-song announcement today. On January 8, she paired a snippet of unreleased music with a Mario meme; the song later came out as “Think U the Sh*t (Fart)” on January 26, 2024.
What Ice Spice posted on January 8
The preview combined a Mario meme video with just over 30 seconds of new music, according to a January 8 entertainment report. Its hook was: “Think you the shit, bitch / You not even the fart.” Know Your Meme documents the post on both TikTok and X, as well as the meme’s subsequent spread: Know Your Meme’s timeline of “You Ain’t Even the Fart”. The entertainment report is available here: Yahoo Entertainment’s January 8 report.

The phrase and Mario meme predated the teaser
Ice Spice did not invent “you ain’t even the fart” or the Mario meme. Know Your Meme traces versions of the phrase to non-viral posts dating to 2012. It also identifies a 2020 image of Mario smoking, captioned “BITCHES BE THINKING THEY THE SHIT BUT THEY AINT EVEN THE FART!!” The January 2024 preview put that already-circulating joke alongside Ice Spice’s song snippet, creating a meme-and-music crossover rather than introducing the phrase.
From preview to released single
The teased track was released on January 26, 2024, as “Think U the Sh*t (Fart),” several weeks after the social post. That is the title to look for when referring to the finished song; “you not even the fart” is the lyric and meme hook. See Yahoo Entertainment’s report on the release.
