“The hardest bit…[was] the food,” Jackman said in a May 2024 conversation with co-star Ryan Reynolds. He explained: “I have to eat a lot. For me, for my body type, I’m naturally skinny. To get the size on, that’s the hardest bit. That’s the bit that does my head in.” The description is specific to Jackman’s experience preparing for the role, not a general nutrition recommendation. Reynolds said Jackman was eating “five, six meals a day,” adding that the food was not necessarily the kind people would enjoy. That meal-frequency detail is Reynolds’s remark about Jackman; it is not an independently established meal plan or advice for gaining muscle.
Returning to the physical role
Jackman said coming back to Wolverine was fun and that he was thrilled his body was still responding. He added that he felt a little sore at first and that returning to the role reminded him “how good it is for your brain.” Reynolds praised Jackman’s commitment to stunts and choreography, noting that his song-and-dance background helped him hit fight-scene marks with speed and confidence. Which Wolverine return was he discussing?
The conversation concerned Jackman reprising Wolverine in Deadpool & Wolverine, following Logan (2017).
