For the simplest first-time watch, follow release order: Pitch Perfect (2012), Pitch Perfect 2 (2015), Pitch Perfect 3 (2017), then Season 1 of Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin (2022). The series is a Bumper Allen spin-off, not a fourth movie. It premiered in 2022, so it is not a newly released show in 2026.
Pitch Perfect movies and show in release order
- Pitch Perfect (2012) — movie. Meet Beca, the Barden Bellas and the college a cappella world. This is the best starting point for the franchise.
- Pitch Perfect 2 (2015) — movie. The Bellas’ story continues, with Bumper returning in a supporting role. It gives the most useful additional context for the spin-off.
- Pitch Perfect 3 (2017) — movie. The trilogy’s final released film follows the Bellas after graduation as they reunite for a USO tour. Universal’s description of the film establishes its post-college premise.
- Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin (2022) — TV series, Season 1. Adam DeVine reprises Bumper Allen. He heads to Berlin to pursue music after an old friend contacts him. Universal describes the series as taking place years after Bumper’s earlier appearances.
Release order is the clearest choice for newcomers: it keeps the Bellas’ three-film story together before shifting to Bumper. The series is a spin-off with a different lead and setting, not a continuation of the Bellas as a group.

Can you watch the show before Pitch Perfect 3?
Yes. If you want to follow Bumper’s story as directly as possible, watch Pitch Perfect, Pitch Perfect 2, then Bumper in Berlin, and save Pitch Perfect 3 for afterward. The series follows Bumper years after his college-era appearances; it is not centered on the Bellas’ later adventures. There is no strong need to interrupt the trilogy, though, and release order remains the safest default. The franchise does not require a precise, scene-by-scene timeline between the series and the third film.
Do you need to watch all three films first?
No. For the spin-off, the useful minimum is Pitch Perfect followed by Pitch Perfect 2: those films introduce Bumper and give context to his connections, including Pieter. Pitch Perfect 3 is not necessary to understand the show’s basic premise. If you want the complete franchise marathon, watch all three films in order and then the series. If you only want the movies, the spin-off is optional.

How many episodes are in Bumper in Berlin?
Peacock currently lists one season with six episodes, each roughly half an hour long. The episode runtimes are 29, 27, 30, 31, 27 and 31 minutes, for about 175 minutes—just under three hours—in total. See Peacock’s Season 1 episode listing.
Where to watch the movies and show
For U.S. viewers, Peacock currently lists Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin. Do not assume that the three films are included with the same subscription: movie availability can change independently. Check a current U.S. availability guide such as JustWatch’s listing for the series, and search for each film separately. Digital rental and purchase options may also be available through stores such as Amazon Video, Apple TV Store or Fandango at Home, depending on title and region. Listings and prices change, so confirm them before choosing a service. Availability outside the United States may differ.

Is there a Season 2?
Peacock announced a Season 2 renewal in January 2023, but that announcement is not evidence that a second season is currently available. Peacock’s current program listing shows one available season. The supported watch plan is therefore the six episodes of Season 1; check Peacock for any later catalog or release updates.
