How to watch The Gorge in the United States
- Open the Apple TV app on a compatible device, or go to tv.apple.com in a browser.
- Search for The Gorge.
- Sign in with your Apple Account.
- Choose an Apple TV subscription or an available trial.
- Return to the film’s title page and select Play.
Apple’s U.S. subscription offer currently shows one week free, then $12.99 per month for a new subscriber. The offer is not necessarily available to every account: trial eligibility, billing dates, and promotional terms can vary. Review the checkout screen before confirming, particularly if you have previously subscribed to Apple TV or received a similar promotion.
A free trial is temporary access for eligible subscribers, not a permanently free, ad-supported way to stream the movie. The reviewed U.S. sources did not confirm a legal free streaming tier for The Gorge.
Can you watch it in the United Kingdom?
Yes. Apple’s U.K. title page also lists The Gorge. The page currently displays a seven-day trial followed by £9.99 per month. That price should not be treated as a worldwide Apple TV price; Apple uses regional pricing and catalogs.

Devices that can play The Gorge
An Apple TV 4K streaming box is optional. Apple says its service is available through the Apple TV app on Apple devices, Android devices, supported smart TVs, streaming platforms and sticks, and through a web browser.
- Web browser: Visit tv.apple.com on a supported computer.
- Mobile devices: Use the Apple TV app on supported iPhone, iPad, and Android devices.
- Smart TVs: Look for the Apple TV app in the television’s app store.
- Streaming sticks and platforms: Supported streaming devices can provide access through the Apple TV app.
- Apple hardware: Apple devices and Apple TV 4K can play the film through the Apple TV app.
Playback can continue across supported devices signed in with the same Apple Account. For example, you can begin watching in a browser and resume in the Apple TV app, provided both devices support the service and use the same account.
Do you need an Apple TV 4K?
No. You only need a supported device and an Apple TV subscription. A dedicated Apple TV 4K is mainly a living-room convenience: it provides a dedicated interface and can support compatible 4K HDR and Dolby Atmos setups. It is not a prerequisite for watching Apple Original films.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteIf you do use Apple TV 4K, connect it to your television or display through HDMI. Apple’s setup guidance says that 4K HDR playback requires a compatible display and an HDMI 2.0-or-later cable; Apple TV 4K itself supports HDMI 2.1. Your television, receiver, cable, and selected picture settings all need to support the format for 4K HDR playback to work as intended.

- Seamless streaming for any room: With Roku Streaming Stick 4K, watch your favorite entertainment on any TV in the house, even in rooms farther from your router thanks to the long-range Wi-Fi receiver.
- Shows on the go: Take your TV to-go when traveling—without needing to log into someone else’s device.
- Compact without compromises: Our sleek design won’t block neighboring HDMI ports, so you can switch from streaming to gaming with ease. Plus, it’s designed to stay hidden behind your TV, keeping wires neatly out of sight
For most viewers who simply want to watch The Gorge, the Apple TV app on an existing smart TV, streaming stick, phone, tablet, or computer is the more economical option. A separate HDMI cable for Apple TV 4K may be useful only if your existing cable or AV setup does not meet the requirements for your desired resolution and HDR configuration.
Watching The Gorge while traveling or from another country
If you are traveling, first check the Apple TV title page for the country where you are physically located. Apple warns that Apple TV services, features, and content are not available in every country or region, and the catalog can differ by location.
There are two separate issues:
- Using your account and service while traveling: This is primarily a question of whether Apple TV supports the device, account, connection, and location you are using.
- Changing the apparent country of a streaming account: This involves Apple’s account, location, payment, and content-licensing rules. It should not be assumed that changing a network location will change the catalog or remain permitted under the platform’s terms.
Apple’s U.S. and U.K. pages confirm that The Gorge appears in more than one market, but that does not establish availability in every country. Do not rely on a U.S. price, rating, or subtitle list if you are elsewhere.

Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →What about using a VPN?
A VPN can be useful for securing a connection on public Wi-Fi while traveling. Outbyte, for example, offers VPN apps for Windows, Mac, iOS, Android, and Linux. However, the available evidence does not establish that Outbyte—or any other VPN—will unlock The Gorge in a particular Apple TV country catalog.
Apple’s regional-availability guidance and the VPN provider’s license terms should be reviewed before use. A VPN should not be presented as a guaranteed way to bypass Apple’s regional restrictions, and it does not automatically change your Apple Account’s country, payment region, or content rights.
Audio, subtitles, and accessibility
The U.S. Apple TV listing shows English audio with Dolby Atmos, Dolby 5.1, and AAC options. It also lists multiple dubbed-audio and subtitle languages, along with closed captions and audio description.

- Built-in Virtual Assistant – just press the mic button on the remote to get what you want
- Built-in content and entertainment including YouTube, Play Movies & TV, and more
- Support for thousands of Apps on the Play Store
- 2K resolution TV streaming
The U.K. listing likewise includes English audio description and a broad subtitle selection, including English SDH and additional languages. Exact options can depend on the country, device, and regional title page, so check the audio and subtitle menu on your own Apple TV listing rather than assuming that every language is available everywhere.
During playback, open the audio and subtitle controls to choose an available language, turn on subtitles or closed captions, or select audio description when offered. If a preferred option is missing, confirm that you are viewing the correct regional listing and that the device’s Apple TV app is up to date.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Is The Gorge available to rent or buy elsewhere?
The research confirms Apple TV availability, but it does not establish a separate current rental or purchase listing through a standalone digital storefront. A third-party availability tracker may show Apple TV or an Apple TV Amazon Channel in the United States, but Apple’s own title and service pages are the stronger sources for deciding where to watch.
Availability can change after publication. If the film does not appear in your Apple TV search, check the regional Apple TV site and a reputable availability tracker rather than assuming that an unofficial listing is current.

Quick troubleshooting checklist
- The film does not appear: Check the Apple TV page for your current country and confirm that you searched for the exact title, The Gorge.
- The trial is unavailable: Review your account’s prior Apple TV subscriptions and the offer terms shown at checkout.
- Playback will not start: Confirm that you are signed in to the Apple Account with the active subscription and that the app or browser is supported and updated.
- You cannot find subtitles or audio description: Open the playback audio and subtitle controls; availability varies by region and device.
- 4K HDR is not appearing: Check the television or display, HDMI connection, receiver, cable, and device settings. Apple TV 4K hardware alone cannot make a non-compatible display show 4K HDR.
- Watching on hotel or public Wi-Fi: Complete any network sign-in page first and consider a VPN for connection security, without treating it as a guaranteed catalog-unblocking tool.
Update note: Apple TV prices, trial offers, supported devices, language options, and country catalogs are changeable. Confirm the current terms on Apple’s regional title page before subscribing or traveling.
