“Activate Fubo” can mean two different things. If you are new to Fubo, you must first create an account, choose a plan, and complete checkout. If you already have an active subscription, activation on a television means signing the Fubo app into that account with a short-lived code.
For most smart TVs and streaming devices, the process takes about five steps: install and open Fubo, choose Sign In, select Sign In With A Code, visit fubo.tv/connect on a phone or computer, and enter the code shown on the TV. The code is valid for five minutes.
First: create a Fubo account if you do not have one
Installing the Fubo app does not start a subscription. New customers need to complete Fubo’s signup process before code-based TV activation can work.

- Open Fubo’s signup flow and enter a valid email address and password.
- Enter the ZIP code for the location where you will use the service. Fubo uses this information to determine local and regional programming.
- Choose an available plan and any desired options shown during signup.
- Enter your billing information and complete checkout.
- Keep the email address and password available; these are the credentials you will use to sign in on your TV and other devices.
Payment methods listed in Fubo’s account documentation include Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, and Cash App. Available plans, payment options, and billing details can vary by region and by the signup path, so rely on the choices displayed in your account rather than assuming every option is available everywhere. If you have not yet subscribed, you can start a Fubo subscription before returning to the TV app. The subscription must be active for the code sign-in method to succeed.
How to activate Fubo on a TV with a code
Use this procedure after you have an active Fubo account. The phone or computer is only used to approve the TV sign-in; it does not need to be the device on which you plan to watch.
- Install and open the Fubo app. Find Fubo in your television or streaming device’s app store, install it, and launch it.
- Choose Sign In. On the Fubo welcome screen, select Sign In.
- Choose Sign In With A Code. The app displays a temporary activation code on the TV.
- Open the activation page elsewhere. On a phone, tablet, or computer, go to fubo.tv/connect.
- Sign in and submit the code. Enter the email address and password for the active Fubo account, type the code shown on the TV, and select Submit.
After the code is accepted, the browser displays a success message and the TV app should open automatically to Fubo’s Home screen. The code is a temporary, one-time sign-in mechanism—not a permanent password, subscription key, or license.

If the activation code expires
Fubo says activation codes remain valid for five minutes. If you waited too long or receive an error:
- Return to the Fubo app on the TV.
- Generate or display a new sign-in code.
- Refresh fubo.tv/connect on the phone or computer.
- Sign in again if necessary and submit the replacement code.
Do not keep submitting an expired code. A fresh code is normally required.
Install Fubo on common TV platforms
The exact menus can change with a device’s software version, but these are Fubo’s documented installation routes. After installation, use the code procedure above.
Amazon Fire TV
- From the Fire TV home screen, go to Find > Search.
- Search for Fubo, or use the Alexa Voice button to search.
- Select the Fubo app.
- Choose Get or Download.
- Open Fubo when installation finishes.
Fubo’s Fire TV instructions cover the installation and subsequent sign-in choices. If your television does not support Fubo natively, a compatible Fire TV device such as an Amazon Fire TV Stick may be a practical way to add the app—but hardware is not required if you already own a supported TV or streaming player.
Roku
- Open Search from the Roku Home screen.
- Search for Fubo.
- Select the Fubo result.
- Choose Add app.
- Open the channel after it has been installed.
Fubo’s device guidance identifies Roku model 3700X and newer as having full support. Some older supported Roku devices may have limited functionality. Check the exact model and current compatibility information in Fubo’s installation guide and supported-device list.

Apple TV
- Open the App Store on Apple TV.
- Search for Fubo.
- Select Fubo and choose Get.
- Wait for installation, then open the app.
Fubo’s general guidance lists Apple TV fourth generation or newer with tvOS 13.0 or higher as supported. Confirm the model and software version before relying on an older Apple TV.
Android TV and Google TV
Use the device’s search interface or open the Google Play Store, search for Fubo, select the app, and choose Install. Open Fubo after installation and select the desired sign-in method.
Fubo says supported Android TV devices must be Play Protect certified and run Android OS 7.0 or later. An app appearing in a store is not by itself a guarantee that every model will provide full support.

Samsung, LG, Vizio, and Hisense TVs
- Samsung: Open the TV’s Apps screen, locate Fubo, and install it.
- LG: Search for Fubo from the home screen and select Install.
- Vizio: On compatible SmartCast models, Fubo is available through the TV’s applications area and does not require a conventional app download in the same way as some platforms.
- Hisense: Compatible VIDAA televisions may have Fubo preloaded. The app can be launched with the Sports button on the remote.
Fubo’s current compatibility guidance lists LG Smart TVs from 2018 onward with webOS 4.0 or higher, Samsung Smart TVs from 2017 onward, and Vizio SmartCast TVs from 2016 onward. These are platform-level guidelines, not a promise that every model from those years is compatible. Model, software, and regional availability can affect the result.

Use Fubo in a browser, phone, or tablet
Computer browser
A compatible Mac or PC browser does not require an app installation. Go to fubo.tv, select the sign-in option, and enter your Fubo email address and password. This is also a useful fallback if the TV app is unavailable or your television is not supported.
Android phone or tablet
Open Google Play, search for Fubo, install the app, and open it. Sign in with the Fubo account credentials used during signup.
iPhone or iPad
Open the App Store, search for Fubo, select Get, and open the app after installation. Sign in with the account email address and password.

What activation does—and does not—do
- It does: connect the Fubo app on a TV or streaming device to an already-created Fubo account.
- It does not: create an account, choose a plan, enter billing information, or automatically begin a subscription.
- The code is not: a permanent password or license key.
- Compatibility is not universal: support depends on the platform, model, software version, and sometimes region.
Once the TV reaches Fubo’s Home screen, activation is complete. If it does not, the fastest next step is usually to generate a new code and retry, followed by the app’s Sign In With Email option.
