The 2024 American Music Awards was the American Music Awards 50th Anniversary Special, not a regular competitive awards ceremony. It originally streamed on Paramount+, but as of August 18, 2026, a full replay could not be confirmed on the current official AMAs page. Check Paramount+ for the exact title before subscribing; its original streaming arrangement does not guarantee the special is still in the catalog.
What was the 2024 American Music Awards?
The 2024 broadcast was a two-hour anniversary special celebrating the AMAs’ history, performances and cultural moments, rather than the usual annual ceremony with a slate of nominees and winners. Dick Clark Productions announced it as the American Music Awards 50th Anniversary Special. The regular awards show returned in 2025.
The special aired Sunday, October 6, 2024, from 8 to 10 p.m. ET (5 to 7 p.m. PT) on CBS and streamed on Paramount+ in the United States, according to the original broadcast announcement.

Paramount+ was the official online destination for the special. However, the current Paramount+ American Music Awards page, checked August 18, 2026, promotes the franchise as “Returning 2027” and does not visibly list a 2024 full-episode replay. That does not establish whether the special is available in every account or region, so treat its present availability as unconfirmed.

- Open Paramount+ in a browser or its app and sign in if you have an account.
- Search for “American Music Awards 50th Anniversary Special.” If it does not appear, also try “American Music Awards” and “AMAs 50th Anniversary.”
- Open any matching result and check whether a full episode or on-demand listing is actually available to play. Labels and navigation can vary by device.
- If no result appears, check that you are browsing the correct country’s service and search again. You can also check official CBS or AMAs pages for a current listing.
- Do not start a new subscription on the assumption that an old special is included. Confirm the title is available first; if it should be available to your account but is missing, contact Paramount+ support.
The official page’s “Returning 2027” message is about the franchise’s future and is not proof that the 2024 special can be streamed now.
What were the original Paramount+ replay terms?
When the special aired in 2024, Paramount said subscribers to Paramount+ with SHOWTIME could watch it live and on demand. Paramount+ Essential subscribers could watch on demand beginning the day after the broadcast. Those were the launch-period terms, not confirmation of the special’s current catalog status; the announcement is available from Dick Clark Productions.

For current U.S. plan information, Paramount+’s plan page listed Essential at $8.99 per month and Premium at $13.99 per month on August 18, 2026. The current lineup and benefits differ from the plan wording used in the 2024 announcement. These prices can change, and neither plan price proves that this particular program is available. Check the Paramount+ plan page and confirm the show is playable before paying. Premium’s additional benefits do not help if the special is absent from the catalog.
What if Paramount+ does not have the complete special?
Check official CBS listings
CBS carried the original U.S. broadcast, but a current full-length replay on CBS.com or the CBS app has not been confirmed. Treat those as places to search, not guaranteed replay sources; a broadcast listing or short clip is not the complete special.

Look for authorized clips
The official AMAs, CBS and Paramount+ channels may have individual performances, red-carpet footage, backstage segments or promotional clips. These can be useful if you are looking for a particular moment, but they are not substitutes for the two-hour program. A current official full-show YouTube upload has not been confirmed.
Use a recording you already made
If you recorded the October 2024 CBS broadcast with a DVR or live-TV service, check that service’s library and retention rules. A service’s ability to record CBS at the time does not mean it has an old recording available now.

Avoid unofficial full-show copies
Unlicensed uploads and mirror sites can be removed, incomplete, edited or poor quality, and deceptive download buttons can lead to malware or subscription traps. Use official listings and channels rather than unauthorized streams.

The confirmed distribution details cover the U.S. broadcast on CBS and the U.S. Paramount+ offering. They do not establish a worldwide replay option. Availability may differ by country because of local licensing, the services operating in that market and how long a title remains available there.
