How to Watch SpaceX Live: Official Webcasts and the 2025 Launch Archive

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Important date note: This is a historical guide to watching SpaceX events in 2025. As of August 18, 2026, every 2025 date listed below has passed. For a current event, begin with SpaceX’s launches page, which replaces old schedules when mission plans change.

The most dependable viewing route is the individual SpaceX mission page. It normally shows the launch time, countdown, webcast destination and, after liftoff, a replay. SpaceX also uses its verified YouTube channel and X account, while NASA provides additional coverage for NASA-sponsored missions.

Where to watch a SpaceX launch

Platform Best use What to verify
SpaceX mission page Primary source for the mission, time and webcast Mission name, countdown and whether the page says Watch or Rewatch
SpaceX on YouTube Official video streams and replays Whether that specific mission is listed; not every launch is guaranteed to use YouTube
SpaceX on X An alternate official webcast location, particularly for some Starship tests That the account, event title and live indicator are official
NASA Live and NASA+ Crew Dragon, cargo and NASA science missions Whether NASA has scheduled mission-specific coverage
Independent channels Longer pad views, extra cameras and commentary Whether the video is a simulcast, commentary feed or replay rather than the official stream

SpaceX’s launch page is the safest starting point because the company can move a webcast between platforms. A mission page such as this Starlink example can identify the webcast destination and may say that live coverage begins approximately 10 minutes before liftoff. That lead time is an example, not a universal rule.

How to find the correct webcast

  1. Open spacex.com/launches.
  2. Find the mission by name, payload, date or launch site.
  3. Open its individual mission page and read the displayed date, time and location.
  4. Select Watch for a live or scheduled webcast. A completed mission may instead show Rewatch.
  5. Open the player shortly before the listed launch time and keep the mission page available for countdown changes.
  6. If no player appears, check the verified SpaceX YouTube channel and SpaceX’s official X account.
  7. For a NASA mission, also open NASA Live and the relevant NASA mission page.

How to verify the launch time

Launch times are plans, not permanent appointments. NET means “no earlier than”: a NET date is the earliest intended date, not a guarantee. A mission can have a launch window lasting minutes or hours, and a countdown hold or scrub can move the attempt.

  • Use the current time on the SpaceX mission page rather than an old article or search snippet.
  • Check the countdown once the webcast is active; it reflects holds and rescheduled attempts more reliably than a static calendar.
  • For NASA-contracted or crewed flights, compare the NASA mission page and official updates.
  • Watch SpaceX’s official X account for last-minute notices about weather, technical inspections, range availability, payload readiness or recovery conditions.

SpaceX’s mission history archive is useful for completed flights and can be filtered by year, category, launch site and vehicle. It is not a current future-launch calendar.

Converting a launch time to your time zone

Keep the original time zone attached to every date. Add UTC when possible, then convert to your local zone using the date itself, because daylight-saving rules change U.S. offsets.

  • Starbase, Texas events are normally presented in Central Time. Starship Flight 8 lifted off at 5:30 p.m. Central on March 6, 2025; its mission page is here.
  • Florida launches are normally presented in Eastern Time. Crew-11 launched from Kennedy Space Center on July 31, 2025; see its mission page.
  • Starship Flight 11 lifted off at 6:23 p.m. Central on October 13, 2025; see the official page.

When a launch slips to another date, redo the conversion. The time-zone abbreviation and daylight-saving status may change with the date.

What kind of SpaceX event are you watching?

Falcon 9

Falcon 9 missions include Starlink, commercial satellites, rideshares, national-security payloads, NASA science, cargo and Crew Dragon. Many receive an official webcast, although a routine mission may have shorter coverage and less commentary than a crewed flight.

Falcon Heavy

Falcon Heavy flights are less frequent and attract attention because of their three-core configuration and coordinated booster operations. Do not assume that every Falcon Heavy mission uses the same broadcast timing; rely on its mission page.

Starship flight tests

Starship tests are experimental events rather than ordinary satellite launches. Coverage can include propellant loading, static-fire activity, a booster catch attempt or ship splashdown, with a longer prelaunch program and rapid schedule changes. The official pages for Flight 8 and Flight 11 provide examples of mission-specific timelines and replays.

Human spaceflight and NASA missions

Crew Dragon flights generally receive broader coverage: briefings, crew activities, weather reports, launch commentary, docking and mission updates. NASA’s Crew-11 launch coverage, for example, began hours before liftoff; see the NASA mission report. NASA does not provide the primary broadcast for every commercial SpaceX launch.

What happens during a webcast?

A typical broadcast may include a mission introduction, vehicle and payload explanation, propellant loading, weather or range updates, the final countdown, liftoff, stage separation, booster recovery, payload deployment and a mission conclusion. This is a pattern, not a guaranteed checklist: Starlink, rideshare, crew and Starship programs differ in length and commentary.

If the launch is delayed or scrubbed

  1. Leave the official mission page open.
  2. Look for a new countdown or revised launch window.
  3. Confirm the new date, time zone and location.
  4. Check SpaceX’s official social update and, for NASA missions, NASA Live.
  5. Recheck your local-time conversion for the new date.
  6. Ignore cached articles and search snippets until the mission page reflects the change.

If an independent stream begins first, it may be showing a pad camera or commentary before SpaceX starts its webcast. If a video appears to be an old replay, verify the mission title, date and live indicator; the mission page should distinguish Watch from Rewatch.

Official stream or independent coverage?

The official SpaceX feed provides first-party countdown information, mission audio and a replay, but routine launches can be brief and technically focused. NASA’s feed adds educational context and operations coverage for agency missions. Independent outlets such as NASASpaceflight or Spaceflight Now can offer longer-range views and commentary; one example is this independent live stream. Use those feeds for context, not as the final authority on launch status or outcome.

Can you watch in person?

Do not assume that SpaceX operates an official public viewing site. In particular, Starbase events may lack a company-run spectator area. Event-specific information, including the context discussed by Space.com, should not be generalized to every launch.

Before traveling, verify lawful public-road access, closures, parking, traffic, weather, trespassing restrictions and whether an official viewing area is open for that attempt. A livestream is often the more reliable option when access rules are uncertain.
