U.S. viewers can currently watch Wicked: One Wonderful Night on demand through Peacock with either a Premium or Premium Plus subscription. Premium Plus costs $16.99 per month or $169.99 per year and adds fewer interruptions and downloads for eligible titles.
Availability snapshot: U.S. information reflects listings checked through August 9, 2026; the latest located Australian listing was checked May 26, 2026, and regional streaming rights can change.

The current U.S. availability listing identifies two eligible Peacock tiers:
| Plan | Listed price | What it means for this special |
|---|---|---|
| Peacock Premium | $10.99 monthly $109.99 annually |
The least expensive currently confirmed U.S. option. It is ad-supported. |
| Peacock Premium Plus | $16.99 monthly $169.99 annually |
Fewer interruptions and downloads for eligible titles. Peacock says some sponsored pages, live events, channels and selected programming may still contain advertising. |
| Peacock Select | $7.99 monthly $79.99 annually |
Do not choose this plan solely for the special. Peacock says Select excludes movies and Peacock Originals, and the current title listing does not identify Select as an eligible tier. |
Prices and plan features come from Peacock’s current plan information. The current U.S. tracking listing at JustWatch reported no free U.S. streaming option when checked on July 27, 2026. In other words, a free Peacock account should not be assumed to provide access.
Which Peacock plan should you choose?
- Choose Premium if you only want the cheapest currently confirmed way to watch the special and do not mind advertisements.
- Choose Premium Plus if you want fewer interruptions, expect to use Peacock for other programming, or want to download eligible content to a supported mobile device or tablet.
- Do not pay for Select just because it is cheaper. The title may not be included in that tier.
Peacock is officially available in the United States and certain U.S. territories, not as a generally available international service. Check Peacock’s availability page before attempting to subscribe from another country.
How to watch it on Peacock
- Open the official Peacock title page or launch the Peacock app.

- Select Peacock Premium or Premium Plus and create an account, or sign in to an existing eligible account.
- Open the title and select Play.
Watching on a television
Install Peacock from your television or streaming device’s app store, open it, sign in, and use the Peacock search box to locate the full title. Peacock provides specific instructions for accessing the service on a smart TV.

Can you download it?
Downloads are limited to Premium Plus on supported mobile and tablet devices, and only titles marked as download-eligible can be saved for offline viewing. Peacock says a download can expire 48 hours after viewing begins, 30 days after it is downloaded if it has not been watched, or sooner if the title leaves the service. The special’s availability for download should therefore be checked inside the app rather than assumed from the Premium Plus subscription.

Was the special on NBC?
Yes, but the NBC broadcast is historical rather than an upcoming airing. NBC originally scheduled Wicked: One Wonderful Night for Thursday, November 6, 2025, from 8 to 10 p.m. Eastern and Pacific time. NBC announced that Peacock availability would begin the following day, November 7.
NBC later scheduled an encore for December 31, 2025, at 8 p.m. Eastern and Pacific time. That encore has also passed. Unless NBC announces a new schedule, readers should not treat an old NBC listing or article written in November 2025 as evidence of a current 2026 rebroadcast.
Recommended Free Tools
The two-hour description refers to the original broadcast slot, which included commercial time and scheduling padding. It does not mean that the on-demand program itself runs for two hours.
NBC app access is not the same as Peacock access
An NBC app login may work differently from a Peacock subscription. NBC says a participating cable, satellite or digital TV provider can unlock parts of the NBC app library and a local-station livestream. That provider authentication does not automatically equal a Peacock subscription, and it does not guarantee current on-demand access to this special.
The current official title page directs viewers to Peacock. If the program is not available in the NBC app, use Peacock rather than assuming that a television-provider login should unlock it. NBC explains the provider-linking process in its official help guide.
International availability
Rights are different outside the United States, and Peacock should not be treated as a worldwide option. The following routes reflect the latest located listings and should be checked again before subscribing or planning a viewing.

Peacock’s terms and geographic-availability guidance restrict access according to supported locations. Sideloading the app, using an unauthorized mirror or treating a VPN as a guaranteed solution is not an official viewing route and may violate service restrictions. International viewers should look for the local rights holder instead.
What is Wicked: One Wonderful Night?
This is a 2025 musical television special, not the 2024 Wicked feature film and not a recording of the complete stage musical. It was filmed at Los Angeles’ Dolby Theatre and is led by Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo. The participating cast includes Michelle Yeoh, Jeff Goldblum, Ethan Slater, Bowen Yang and Marissa Bode.
The event combines reworked musical numbers with interviews, behind-the-scenes material and previews connected to Wicked: For Good. A 37-piece live orchestra performed under the direction of Stephen Oremus.
The associated live soundtrack lists these performances:

- What Is This Feeling? / Dear Old Shiz
- Popular
- I’m Not That Girl
- Dancing Through Life
- Thank Goodness
- Defying Gravity
- Get Happy / Happy Days Are Here Again
- For Good
The final performance, For Good, was recorded from the Gershwin Theatre with Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth joining Erivo and Grande. The program therefore contains performance and special-event material beyond simply replaying scenes from either movie.
Do not confuse it with these other Wicked titles
- Wicked (2024): The first feature film adaptation, starring Grande and Erivo.
- Wicked: For Good (2025): The feature-film sequel. It is a separate movie, not the television special.
- Defying Gravity: The Curtain Rises on Wicked: A separate NBC and Peacock documentary-style special that Peacock lists as a related title.
- Wicked: One Wonderful Night Live soundtrack: An audio release of performances from the event. It does not include the video presentation, interviews, staging or behind-the-scenes material.
If a search result takes you to one of these programs, return to the full title Wicked: One Wonderful Night and confirm that the listing is the television special.

Runtime, captions and picture quality
There are several runtimes in circulation because the broadcast schedule and regional on-demand listings do not use identical metadata:
| Listing | Reported runtime | How to interpret it |
|---|---|---|
| NBC broadcast slot | Two hours, 8–10 p.m. | Scheduled television slot, not the program’s uninterrupted running time. |
| Peacock | 1 hour 23 minutes | Current U.S. on-demand runtime shown on Peacock’s title page. |
| JustWatch U.S. | 84 minutes | Third-party listing that is broadly consistent with the Peacock runtime. |
| NOW U.K. | 1 hour 19 minutes | Regional listing with a different runtime, likely reflecting platform metadata or an edit. |
The safest description is that the on-demand version runs approximately 79 to 84 minutes depending on the service and territory. These differences should not automatically be treated as an error or as proof that one platform has the complete version.
Peacock labels the title TV-PG and lists closed captions and a 4K UHD label. The 4K label does not guarantee 4K playback on every television, streaming device, internet connection or account configuration. Actual quality depends on the platform, supported hardware, connection and service settings.

The title does not appear
- Search using the full name, Wicked: One Wonderful Night, including One Wonderful Night.
- Confirm that the account is being used in the United States or an officially supported U.S. territory.
- Check that the subscription is Premium or Premium Plus. Do not assume Select includes the program.
- Open the direct Peacock title page in a browser instead of relying only on the app’s home screen.
- Remember that catalogs can change according to location, tier, device and licensing rights. Peacock’s terms describe these availability limitations.
The video shows a spinner, black screen or error
Peacock’s recommended recovery sequence is:
- Close Peacock and other background apps.
- Relaunch Peacock.
- Restart the device. Peacock recommends fully powering it down or unplugging it for about 20 seconds before turning it back on.
- Check the internet connection.
- Clear the app’s cache and data if the device provides that option.
- Uninstall and reinstall Peacock if the problem continues.
See Peacock’s guidance for video playback problems and for cases where the player shows a spinner, black screen or error message.
The stream keeps buffering
Reduce other activity on the same network, such as large downloads, game updates or other video streams. Peacock gives 3 Mbps as a minimum for streaming and recommends at least 8 Mbps for certain high-quality live events and ultra-high-definition content. A faster, stable connection may be needed for the best results when a device is attempting higher-quality playback.
Its buffering guidance also recommends reducing competing network traffic and checking the connection before reinstalling the app.

You have reached the simultaneous-stream limit
Peacock permits a maximum of three concurrent streams per account. Stop playback on unused devices. If a browser or device crashed but is still being counted as active, Peacock says waiting approximately 10 minutes may clear the session. More details are available in its simultaneous-streams help article.
If you only want the music
The live soundtrack is a legitimate audio-only alternative, but it is not a substitute for the television special. It does not provide the interviews, staging, behind-the-scenes footage or visual performances. The soundtrack was released digitally on November 7, 2025, through Republic Records and Verve Records; it is available through services such as Apple Music.
For viewers who mainly want the songs, the soundtrack’s listed performances are:
- Overture / No One Mourns the Wicked
- The Wizard and I
- What Is This Feeling? / Dear Old Shiz
- Popular
- I’m Not That Girl
- Dancing Through Life
- Thank Goodness
- Defying Gravity
- Get Happy / Happy Days Are Here Again
- For Good
For the full audiovisual event, including the Dolby Theatre performances and additional special material, Peacock remains the currently confirmed U.S. route.
The Bottom Line
Bottom line: In the United States, watch Wicked: One Wonderful Night on Peacock Premium or Premium Plus; it is not currently listed as free. Premium is the lowest confirmed price, while Premium Plus is the better choice if you want downloads or fewer interruptions. The original NBC broadcast and December 31, 2025 encore have ended. Outside the U.S., check the local listing: NOW/Sky in the U.K. and the latest reported 7plus listing in Australia are the clearest regional routes, while Canadian availability requires fresh Citytv verification.
