What is Kevin Costner’s The West?
Kevin Costner’s The West is a 2025, eight-part documentary series about struggles over land, power and identity in the American West. HISTORY and Hulu each list one season with eight episodes. Kevin Costner and Doris Kearns Goodwin are executive producers. This is a documentary series, not Yellowstone, Horizon: An American Saga or Costner’s film Dances with Wolves; it is also distinct from Ken Burns’s 1996 PBS documentary The West. Hulu
Hulu’s U.S. series page lists season one and all eight episodes. Open the Hulu title page, sign in or choose a plan, then search for the full title and open season one. Before paying, make sure the episode list—not just a title card—is visible in your account.

HISTORY app with a TV-provider login
HISTORY says its app and website offer on-demand viewing after authentication with a participating TV provider. Open the official viewing guide, choose the provider-login option in the app or site, select your provider and sign in. Participating providers listed by HISTORY include DirecTV, DirecTV Stream, Dish, Frndly TV, Hulu + Live TV, Philo, Sling, Spectrum, Verizon Fios and Xfinity, among others. Your package must include the relevant access.

Hulu and Hulu + Live TV are not interchangeable. Hulu lists this title in its own catalog. Hulu + Live TV is relevant as a live HISTORY-channel service and as a provider login for the HISTORY app; do not assume that every Hulu plan authenticates every HISTORY app feature.
Live-TV streaming, HISTORY Vault and other listings
If you want the live HISTORY channel as well as the documentary, compare providers such as Philo or another service carrying the channel. HISTORY Vault may suit viewers who want a broader history-focused catalog. Check the exact title and all eight episodes in the service before starting a paid plan.
U.S. listings also include The Roku Channel, Hoopla and Spectrum On Demand. These may be free with ads, available through an eligible library, or included with an existing Spectrum account, but none is guaranteed for every viewer or location. Treat availability trackers as a starting point and confirm in the service itself; JustWatch’s U.S. listing is a useful cross-check, not a promise of access.
Buy the season instead of subscribing
HISTORY identifies Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV and other digital retailers as purchase options. Search the exact title in your country’s store, compare the season price with individual episodes and check video quality and supported devices before buying. A Prime Video listing showed $9.99 for the HD season and $2.99 per HD episode when checked for this research; prices and country availability can change. A digital purchase is a retailer-controlled license, subject to that retailer’s terms and playback rules, rather than a universal file you own outright.

Where to watch in the United Kingdom
NOW lists season one as available to stream through its website and app, identifying the program as a Sky History title. Visit the NOW season page, check the available membership and device details, then open season one. The listing establishes a U.K. option; it does not establish that NOW or a U.S. subscription works in every other country.

Streaming rights are territorial. The verified options here cover U.S. services and a U.K. NOW listing, not a complete worldwide map. In another country, search the local version of the official services and a regional availability guide such as JustWatch. Before paying, confirm that season one and all eight episodes are playable in your location—not merely listed, promoted or available as clips—and check subtitles, audio options and any download feature you need.

If you are traveling, access to a home-country subscription depends on the provider’s travel and portability rules. Do not assume a U.S. Hulu or HISTORY account will work abroad, or that a retailer purchase made in one country will be available in another.
