What happened to Game 7 in 2026?
There was no 2026 Stanley Cup Final Game 7 because Carolina won the series in six games. The NHL’s official results page says, “The Carolina Hurricanes won the 2026 Stanley Cup by defeating the Vegas Golden Knights in six games,” with the deciding Game 6 completed on June 14, 2026. Read the NHL’s 2026 Stanley Cup Final results and schedule for the completed series record.
The NHL had listed Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at 8 p.m. ET as the conditional date for Game 7 if the series had reached seven games. A conditional listing was not confirmation that the game would take place. The NHL’s schedule announcement stated that “Every game of the 2026 Stanley Cup Final will start at 8 p.m. ET and will be available on ABC in the U.S. In Canada, every game will be available on Sportsnet, CBC and TVA Sports.” That broadcast plan applied to the 2026 Final and should not automatically be treated as the rights plan for a future year.

How do you watch Sportsnet+ on a TV?
Open the Sportsnet app on a compatible smart TV, game console, or connected streaming device, or cast from a supported device. Sportsnet+ documents support for desktop web browsers, Android Chrome, iOS Safari, iPhone, Android phones, iPad, Android tablets, Samsung TVs from 2018 onward, Android TV 7 or later, selected Apple TV models, Xbox consoles, PlayStation consoles, Chromecast models, Rogers Xfinity devices, and Amazon Fire TV models.
Sportsnet’s compatibility table lists the Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K and Amazon Fire TV Cube among supported Amazon Fire TV devices and shows 1080p capability for the listed Fire TV models. A streaming media player can therefore be a practical way to add the Sportsnet app to a television that lacks a compatible built-in app. A new device is optional, not mandatory, if your television, computer, phone, tablet, console, or existing television subscription already provides supported access. Check the official Sportsnet+ device-compatibility table for the exact model before buying or attempting to stream.
| Device route | Examples documented by Sportsnet+ | Best fit | Important check |
|---|---|---|---|
| Smart TV | Samsung TVs from 2018 onward; selected supported TV platforms | Viewers who want the app directly on the television | Confirm the exact TV model and operating-system version |
| Computer or mobile device | Desktop web, Android Chrome, iOS Safari, iPhone, Android phones, iPad, and Android tablets | Viewers who already have a supported browser or mobile device | Use a supported browser and a stable internet connection |
| Game console | Selected Xbox and PlayStation consoles | Viewers who already use a console as a media device | Older console models may not be supported |

Which option is best for you?
The best way to watch depends on whether you already pay for television service, need English or French coverage, and have a compatible screen or device.

- Choose Sportsnet+ if you want the direct streaming route identified for Canadian NHL viewers and do not want to depend on a traditional television package.
- Use an existing smart TV, browser, phone, tablet, console, or connected device before purchasing anything new.
- Consider a streaming media player only when your television lacks a supported Sportsnet+ app and the exact player model appears on Sportsnet’s current compatibility list.
- Check the language and event listing if French coverage matters, because English and French availability may differ by outlet and presentation.
What should you check before puck drop?
- Confirm which year’s Stanley Cup Final you are trying to watch. A Game 7 schedule is conditional and may disappear when one team wins the series.
- Check the NHL’s official schedule and broadcast-rights announcement for that year.
- For television, search your provider’s lineup for Sportsnet, CBC, or TVA Sports rather than relying on a channel number from another city or provider.
- For streaming, verify that Sportsnet+ is available for your Canadian account and that your subscription or authorized-distributor access is active.
- Check the exact TV, browser, console, Chromecast, Apple TV, Android TV, Rogers Xfinity, or Fire TV model against Sportsnet+’s current device list.
- Sign in and test the app or browser before the broadcast begins. If the television app is unsupported, use a supported computer or mobile device, or an optional compatible connected device.
Sportsnet+’s official terms of service describe Canadian availability and access requirements. This guide does not recommend VPNs or unauthorized streams, and no streaming service should be assumed to work on an older device merely because a newer model is supported.
