The two official ways to watch Apple TV+ on a Windows PC
You can watch Apple TV+—which Apple’s current pages generally call Apple TV—on a Windows computer in either of two ways:
- Use a browser: open tv.apple.com in a supported browser and sign in. This is the quickest option and does not require an installation.
- Install the Apple TV app: download the official Apple TV app from Microsoft Store. This provides a dedicated interface and supports downloads for eligible content.
You need an Apple Account, an Apple TV subscription for subscription content, and an internet connection for streaming. You do not need an Apple TV 4K box, streaming stick, HDMI cable, or other special hardware.
Option 1: Watch Apple TV+ in a web browser
The browser route is usually best if you want to start watching immediately, are using a shared or work computer, or cannot install applications through Microsoft Store.

- Open Chrome, Firefox, or another supported web browser on your Windows PC.
- Go to tv.apple.com.
- Select the sign-in option and enter the Apple Account connected to your subscription.
- If you do not have a subscription, follow the on-screen instructions to subscribe or begin a trial when one is offered in your region.
- Choose a film, series, episode, or other available title and select the play button.
Apple may request an Apple Account and, in some cases, credit-card verification for web viewing. The exact subscription, trial, content, and sports options depend on your country or region.
Browser viewing: the main limitation
tv.apple.com is for streaming, not offline downloads. If you want to save eligible shows or films for viewing without an internet connection, use the Windows app instead.
Option 2: Install the Apple TV app on Windows
The Windows app is preferable if you want a standalone Apple TV interface or the ability to download eligible subscription content to the PC.

- Open Microsoft Store from the Windows Start menu.
- Search for Apple TV.
- Select the official Apple TV app in the results. Check the publisher and app details before installing.
- Select Get and wait for the installation to finish.
- Open the app and sign in with the Apple Account used for your Apple TV subscription.
- Select Apple TV in the sidebar, browse the available categories or featured rows, and choose a title.
The app may also show sections such as Search, Home, Sports, Store, Channels, and Library. What appears can vary by country, device, account eligibility, and current Apple offerings.

How to download Apple TV content for offline viewing
Apple documents downloads through the Windows Apple TV app, not through the web player.
- Open the Apple TV app on your Windows PC and sign in.
- Open the show, film, or event you want to save.
- Select the Download button if it is available.
- Open Library and select Downloaded to find the saved content.
Not every title, channel, or event supports downloads. Download limits and other restrictions may also apply, so the absence of a download button does not necessarily indicate an installation problem or account error.

What you need before watching
- A Windows PC: keep Windows and its drivers up to date. Exact compatibility can vary by Windows environment and app version.
- An Apple Account: use the account associated with the subscription.
- An Apple TV subscription: subscription content requires an active subscription. A subscription is not required for every item displayed in the app because the Store can also contain separate rentals and purchases.
- A browser or the Windows app: use the browser for the lowest-friction setup, or the app for a dedicated interface and eligible downloads.
- An internet connection: streaming requires an internet connection; downloaded eligible content is the offline-viewing alternative.
You do not need an Apple TV 4K device or a television to watch on the PC itself. Those products are relevant only if you also want to watch on a separate television.
What the Apple TV subscription does—and does not—include
The Apple TV app can bring together several kinds of content, and they should not be confused with the subscription:
- Apple TV subscription content: included when your account has the required subscription.
- Sports: some sports offerings may be available depending on the country or region. Examples can include Friday Night Baseball, Major League Soccer, or Formula 1, but availability is not universal.
- Third-party channels: third-party-branded subscriptions are not automatically included with an Apple TV subscription.
- Store items: some films and other content are available separately for rental or purchase.
If a title appears in the app but has no play button, check whether it requires a separate rental, purchase, channel subscription, or a subscription that is unavailable in your region.

Which method should you choose?

Troubleshooting Apple TV on Windows
The Apple TV app is missing or will not install
- Confirm that Microsoft Store is available on the PC and that you searched for the official Apple TV app.
- Install pending Windows updates, then restart the computer.
- Open Microsoft Store and check for app updates.
- If the computer is managed by an employer or school, an administrator may have disabled Microsoft Store or app installation. Use the browser route if permitted.
The app opens, but a title will not play
- Check that you are signed in with the correct Apple Account.
- Confirm that the account has the required Apple TV subscription or separate access to the title.
- Check the network connection.
- Update Windows and the PC’s device drivers.
- Open Microsoft Store and update the Apple TV app.
- Try another title to determine whether the problem affects the whole service or only one item.
A title may also be unavailable because it has not been released yet, is not offered in your region, or requires a separate purchase or channel subscription.
Browser playback or autoplay is not working
- Try Chrome or Firefox if the current browser is producing an error.
- Temporarily disable ad-blocking extensions or ad-blocking applications. These can interfere with web-player playback or autoplay.
- Reload the page and sign in again.
- Check that the browser is up to date and that the network connection is stable.
Disable extensions only as a troubleshooting step, and re-enable them afterward if they are not responsible for the problem.
Sports or other content is unavailable
Check the account’s country or region and the availability of the specific title. Apple does not offer identical content, sports, channels, or features in every country or on every device. A subscription also does not automatically unlock third-party channels, rentals, or purchases shown in the app.
