Peacock appears to offer an autoplay control, but it is not universal across every device or account. The clearest option is labeled “Autoplay trailers” and controls previews that begin while you browse. It may not stop Peacock from automatically starting the next episode, which is a separate behavior.
The best place to look first is Peacock’s profile-editing screen in a web browser. If the option is absent, the cause may be the device, app version, profile, or an uneven feature rollout.

Peacock has an autoplay setting—but it may not control everything
Peacock viewers have reported wanting a simple switch for automatic video playback. That request covers several different behaviors:
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
- Preview autoplay: a trailer or preview starts when you highlight a movie or show while browsing.
- Next-episode autoplay: another episode begins automatically when the current one ends.
- Immediate playback: a title starts as soon as it is selected instead of waiting for another confirmation.
These behaviors should not be treated as interchangeable. The option most clearly documented in current coverage is “Autoplay trailers.” Turning it off should address browsing previews, but there is not enough evidence to say that it universally disables next-episode playback.

A December 2024 user discussion described an autoplay control appearing for some viewers while remaining unavailable to others, particularly across connected-TV platforms. A 2026 Peacock review also observed the “Autoplay trailers” control, but found it difficult to discover because it was placed under profile editing rather than an obvious general settings menu.
How to check Peacock’s autoplay-trailer setting
Use Peacock’s website first, even if you normally watch through a television or streaming box:
- Open Peacock in a web browser and sign in.
- Open the profile-selection screen, sometimes shown as “Who’s Watching?”
- Choose the pencil or edit icon beneath the profile you use.
- Look through the profile preferences for “Autoplay trailers.”
- Switch the setting off or on, then save if Peacock displays a save button.
- Refresh the browser or close and reopen Peacock on your viewing device.
The exact labels and placement can change by platform and app version. Peacock’s official profile-settings documentation confirms that some profile controls must be changed through a web browser rather than directly on a TV. That makes the browser a sensible first location, although Peacock does not provide a single, clearly documented autoplay procedure for every device.

What the setting does—and does not—do
Turning off “Autoplay trailers” is not the same as turning off “Play next episode.”
If previews stop while you browse but the next episode still begins automatically, the setting is working as labeled. It is controlling trailers, not necessarily episode progression.
To identify which problem you have, perform two separate tests:

- This card is non-reloadable. No cash or ATM access. Funds do not expire. If available funds remain on your card after the valid thru date has passed, please call customer service for a replacement card. A one-time purchase fee applies at the time of checkout. No fees after purchase.
- To access your card information safely, type the complete website address shown on your Gift Card (MyGift.GiftCardMall.com) directly into your browser's address bar. Don't use search engines or shortened versions of the website address, as these may lead you to fake or fraudulent sites. Do not provide any Gift Card details (example: Card Number) to someone you do not know or trust. If you believe you've reached an illegitimate website, contact cardholder service at 1-888-524-1283. Be cautious of phishing sites, there are a variety of scams in which fraudsters try to trick others into paying with gift cards.
- To report your Lost or Stolen Physical Visa Card, call Customer Service 24/7 at 1 (888) 524-1283 to cancel your Gift Card as soon as you can. You will be asked to provide the Gift Card number and other identifying information.
- Use your Visa Gift Card in the U.S. everywhere Visa debit cards are accepted, including online.
- Highlight several titles on the home screen and wait to see whether previews begin.
- Play an episode through its ending and check whether Peacock automatically starts another episode.
Testing both behaviors prevents a common mistake: changing the trailer setting and assuming that a separate next-episode feature should also have changed.

The following is a summary of reported availability, not an official Peacock compatibility chart. Peacock’s public Help Center does not provide a definitive platform-by-platform table for autoplay.
| Platform | Autoplay-trailer control | Next-episode control | Best first step |
|---|---|---|---|
| Web browser | Reported | Not verified | Open the profile edit screen |
| iPhone and iPad | Reported for some users | Not verified | Check the app, then use Peacock’s website |
| Android phones and tablets | Reported for some users | Not verified | Update the app and inspect profile settings |
| Roku | Reported, with a device-settings complication | Not verified | Check Peacock, then Roku settings if redirected |
| Fire TV and other TV apps | Availability reported as inconsistent | Not verified | Change the profile setting on the web |
| Apple TV and tvOS | Rollout reported as inconsistent | Not verified | Check the web profile screen first |
| Google TV and Android TV | Availability reported as inconsistent | Not verified | Update the app and check profile settings |
| Smart TVs and game consoles | Not established for every model | Not verified | Use the browser-first troubleshooting steps |
The December 2024 reports mention differences among web, mobile, Roku, Fire TV, Android TV, tvOS, and other connected-TV versions. Those reports show uneven availability, not a formal launch policy or a guarantee that a particular device will receive the control.

Why the option may be missing
If you cannot find “Autoplay trailers,” work through these checks:
- Check Peacock on the web. A profile preference may be available on the website even when the TV app does not expose it.
- Edit the correct profile. Profile preferences may not apply to every profile on the account.
- Update Peacock. User reports suggest that app versions and rollout status affected availability.
- Sign out and sign back in. This can refresh account-level preferences after a web change.
- Restart the device or app. A TV app that was already open may not immediately reflect the change.
- Check device-level settings. A 2026 review reported that Roku redirected the reviewer to Roku’s accessibility settings for autoplay trailers. Treat that as a Roku-specific, device-dependent route—not a universal rule for every Roku user.
- Test previews and episode endings separately. The missing control may concern a different type of autoplay than the one you want to stop.
- Contact Peacock Customer Care. Provide the device model, operating-system version, Peacock app version, profile name or type, and a precise description of when playback starts.
There is no verified evidence here that changing subscription tiers, clearing the cache, or reinstalling the app reliably restores a missing autoplay option. Those steps may be general app troubleshooting measures, but they should not be presented as confirmed fixes.

Roku, Fire TV, smart TVs, and streaming boxes
Television apps often expose fewer account controls than the web version. If the setting is missing from a TV interface, make the change through Peacock’s website, then fully exit and relaunch the TV app.
Best Value
- The gift that lets them fly to 85+ destinations.
- No fees. No expiration. Ever.
- Gift a getaway because special days deserve special destinations.
- Valid Only For Southwest Airlines Flights
- No returns and no refunds on gift cards.
Roku deserves separate mention because the reported behavior is unusual: the Peacock app may direct a viewer toward Roku’s accessibility settings. The exact menu names can vary by Roku model and operating-system version, so follow the route shown on the device rather than assuming every Roku has the same controls.
Do not automatically apply Roku’s behavior to Fire TV, Apple TV, Google TV, smart-TV platforms, or consoles. The available evidence does not establish that one device’s menu structure or rollout status applies to all others.
Does Peacock Premium Plus turn off autoplay?
No—not based on the available evidence. Premium Plus is marketed as reducing advertising interruptions, not as an autoplay-control plan. Peacock says that some ads may still appear in channels, live sports and events, and selected programming; its help page about reducing ads does not describe Premium Plus as a way to disable trailers or next-episode playback.
If your goal is less advertising, the plan information on Peacock’s TV and streaming page is the relevant source. If your goal is to stop automatic playback, look for the profile or device setting instead. A plan upgrade should not be treated as a solution to autoplay.
Special cases to keep in mind
- Kids and restricted profiles: profile controls may behave differently when maturity limits or other restrictions are active. Peacock documents profile-based parental controls and restrictions in its support article.
- Live channels and sports: playback behavior for live content may differ from on-demand movies and episodes.
- Delayed synchronization: a web change may not appear until the app is restarted or the account is refreshed.
- Different terminology: “autoplay trailers,” “autoplay previews,” and “play next episode” may refer to different controls.
- Billing partners: if you are considering a plan change, Peacock notes that billing through Apple, Google, Roku, Amazon, Xfinity, or another partner can affect where the plan is managed. That is separate from autoplay settings; see Peacock’s plan-change guidance.
Quick checklist before contacting support
- Which device is showing the problem?
- Which Peacock app and operating-system versions are installed?
- Which profile was edited?
- Are you trying to stop browsing previews or next-episode playback?
- Did you check the profile-editing screen on Peacock’s website?
- Did you sign out, restart the app, and reopen the device after changing the setting?
- Does the behavior occur with more than one show or movie?
Peacock’s autoplay situation is best understood as a partial, inconsistent solution: an “Autoplay trailers” switch exists in at least some interfaces, but it is not proven to be available everywhere and may not control automatic episode-to-episode playback.
