To keep wedding venue tours live on YouTube around the clock, send an ordered, looping playlist into YouTube Live through an encoder. You can run that encoder on a venue computer or dedicated hardware, or use a cloud playout service. Before you launch, enable live streaming, clear the rights for every video and audio track, test the venue’s upload capacity, and plan for YouTube’s limits on archiving long streams.
What a 24/7 YouTube Live stream requires
A YouTube playlist of uploaded videos is not itself a live broadcast. YouTube Live receives a continuous feed from an encoder: software, a standalone hardware encoder, or a cloud playout service. The encoder plays the venue-tour videos in the order you choose and repeats them, while YouTube carries that feed on a live page.
For a venue, the goal is to make it easy for prospective couples to browse the space at any time—not to create a single event broadcast. A looping stream can serve that purpose, but it still needs a working encoder, an authorized stream key, cleared content, and monitoring.
Choose where the playlist will run
| Approach | Where the feed is produced | What must remain available | What to know |
|---|---|---|---|
| Local software encoder | A venue computer | The computer, encoder software, and internet connection | YouTube supports software encoders. Controls and setup depend on the software you choose. |
| Dedicated hardware encoder | A standalone device | The device and internet connection | YouTube supports standalone hardware encoders. Compatibility and controls depend on the model. |
| Cloud playout service | The provider’s cloud infrastructure | The service’s account and configuration | This can avoid keeping a venue computer online for playout, depending on the service. YouTube’s encoder directory lists Gyre as a cloud-based tool for 24/7 prerecorded-video streaming. |
There is no required hardware encoder. If your team is comfortable maintaining a venue computer and encoder, local software can work. If you want the playlist to run without a computer at the venue staying on, compare cloud playout options and verify each provider’s current controls, terms, and pricing before choosing.

Prepare the channel, videos, and rights
Enable live streaming before launch day
YouTube says the channel must be verified and must not have live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. First-time live-streaming activation may take up to 24 hours, according to YouTube Help guidance accessed in 2026. Enable it in advance rather than waiting until the playlist is ready to go live. See YouTube’s live-streaming enablement guidance.
Order and check the playlist
Choose the sequence viewers should see, then configure the selected encoder or cloud service to repeat the playlist. Loop and playlist controls vary by product, so consult the current documentation for your chosen software or service rather than assuming the settings are identical. Check that each video has usable picture and audio from beginning to end, and that transitions do not leave long unintended gaps.

Clear every element in the videos
Venue tours can include background music, artwork, photographs, recognizable people, or footage from private events. Confirm that you have the rights and permissions needed for the exact recordings and for their use in a live stream. YouTube’s livestream terms and conditions say the content provider warrants having the necessary rights for live content, including music licensing rights.

If a match remains, the live feed may be interrupted or terminated. Create the YouTube Live broadcast and connect the encoder
- Open YouTube Studio and go to Live Control Room. Create or schedule a live stream, then set its title, description, visibility, and other broadcast details for prospective couples.
- Copy the stream URL and stream key from the live setup. Enter them in the encoder or cloud service’s YouTube destination settings. Follow that product’s current instructions for where to paste each value.
- Protect the stream key. Treat it like a password: someone who obtains it can send a feed to your broadcast. Do not publish it or share it beyond the people and systems that need it.
- Set the playlist to repeat in the encoder. Confirm the order, that looping is enabled, and that the output is pointed at the intended YouTube stream.
- Start the encoder and check Live Control Room. Wait for YouTube to receive the feed and preview the picture and sound before making the stream public or beginning the scheduled broadcast.
YouTube’s encoder setup guidance describes its encoder workflow, including stream setup and connection details.

Set encoding quality and protect stream stability
Choose output settings your encoder supports and your venue’s tested upload connection can sustain. YouTube’s encoder guidance recommends H.264 video, constant bitrate (CBR), a two-second keyframe interval, and RTMPS for an encrypted connection. The right resolution and bitrate depend on the source videos, encoder, and available upload capacity; do not select a bitrate that leaves the connection with no room for other traffic.
Measure the venue’s upstream connection under realistic operating conditions, not just its advertised download speed. YouTube recommends 20% upload bandwidth headroom above the total streaming bitrate. For example, if the chosen stream bitrate is 10 Mbps, plan for at least 12 Mbps of available upload capacity while streaming. This is YouTube’s recommendation, not a guarantee against local network or provider interruptions. Review YouTube’s encoder settings and bitrate guidance.

- Allow setup time and start the encoder before any scheduled launch.
- Check the incoming preview in Live Control Room for picture, audio, and the correct playlist content.
- Open the watch page from a separate device and verify that the stream is accessible as intended.
- Check playback on a phone as well as a desktop browser.
- Monitor the live feed continuously, especially during the initial run. YouTube recommends monitoring audio and video.
A test confirms that the configured setup is working at that time; it does not remove the need to monitor an always-on broadcast for later connection, content, or service problems.

Plan for archives separately from the live page
Do not rely on YouTube’s automatic archive as the master copy of a continuous stream. YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived, but a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. DVR rewind may also be limited beyond 12 hours. See YouTube’s live-stream archiving guidance.
If you need a dependable master recording, make and retain an independent recording. If a YouTube archive is important, end and restart the broadcast at intervals under 12 hours, understanding that this breaks one continuous live session and requires a planned restart.
Or let it run in the cloud
With StreamNeo, upload the venue-tour video or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. It loops the uploaded videos from the cloud, so nothing has to stay on at the venue; it does not broadcast from a camera. The uploaded quality is streamed as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one flat price per slot, and StreamNeo automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly service is $9.99 per month. See StreamNeo for details, then start your free first day.

Troubleshoot common setup problems
You cannot start a live stream
Check that the channel is verified, live streaming is enabled, and there are no current restrictions. If this is the channel’s first activation, allow up to 24 hours for it to become available.
YouTube is not receiving the encoder feed
Confirm the encoder is running and that the stream URL and key were entered correctly for the intended broadcast. Check the network connection and encoder destination settings; keep the key private while correcting the setup.
The picture stutters or the stream drops
Compare the encoder’s total streaming bitrate with the venue’s available upload bandwidth. Reduce the output bitrate or resolution if the connection cannot sustain it, and preserve YouTube’s recommended 20% upload headroom. Check the local network and monitor the preview after changing settings.
The stream is interrupted over music or other content
Review the exact video and audio that triggered the match. Obtain the required rights for live use, and ask the relevant rights owner whether the channel needs a Content ID allowlist. A license alone may not prevent an automated interruption.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsThe stream ended, but no archive appeared
Check the stream’s duration. YouTube may not capture broadcasts exceeding 12 hours. Use an independent recording for a reliable master, or plan shorter sessions if an on-YouTube archive is required.
