How to Stream to Multiple Platforms at Once with XSplit Broadcaster

Configure an XSplit output for each destination, start them from the Broadcast menu, and use Custom RTMP when an unlisted platform accepts RTMP ingest.

To stream to multiple platforms at once with XSplit Broadcaster, set up a separate broadcast output for each destination, then start the outputs you want from the Broadcast menu. XSplit’s dedicated guide says direct multistreaming requires a Broadcaster Premium or Premium Bundle license. For destinations without a listed output, use Custom RTMP if the platform accepts RTMP ingest. XSplit’s multistream guide documents the workflow; check its current interface and licensing before you begin.

Choose the right XSplit workflow first

“Multiple platforms” can mean sending one broadcast to several services, creating different layouts for different formats, or sending one output through a relay service. XSplit handles these as separate workflows:

  • Direct multistreaming: create an output for each destination and start each output. This is the route for broadcasting to multiple platforms directly from Broadcaster.
  • Multi Output Mode: prepare multiple canvas layouts or formats, such as landscape and portrait. It is not the same as adding several destination outputs. XSplit’s support guide describes this mode as beta. See XSplit’s Multi Output Mode guide.
  • Restream integration: send an XSplit output to Restream, which can distribute it to channels configured there. XSplit documents the plugin and authorization flow, but its guide is not a reliable source for Restream’s current plan limits or pricing. See XSplit’s Restream setup guide.

If your goal is simply the same live program on several destinations, start with direct outputs. Choose Multi Output Mode only when you need separate canvases or formats, and consider a relay when you prefer to manage distribution through that service.

Set up direct outputs in XSplit Broadcaster

  1. Confirm your license. XSplit Support’s guide, updated October 11, 2025, says direct multistreaming is available with a Broadcaster Premium or Premium Bundle license. Check XSplit’s current licensing details rather than assuming another license or bundle includes the feature. XSplit Support: multistreaming.
  2. Add the first destination. In Broadcaster, open Broadcast > Set up a new output, then choose the destination’s output. The available controls and authentication steps can differ by output and interface version.
  3. Repeat for every platform. Set up each destination as its own output. If you do not see a service, check Find more outputs for an available plugin. XSplit’s getting-started instructions describe selecting a platform and following its setup wizard to authenticate. XSplit Broadcaster getting started.
  4. Configure credentials and settings. Follow the selected output’s instructions to authorize the account or enter the required stream details. Keep stream keys private; anyone with a valid key may be able to broadcast to your channel.
  5. Start the outputs you need. Open the Broadcast menu and start each configured output. XSplit says active outputs appear as live in that menu. Check each destination’s own live dashboard to confirm it is receiving the broadcast.

For example, to send the same program to Twitch and YouTube, configure the Twitch output and YouTube Live output separately, authenticate each as prompted, then start both from the Broadcast menu. The exact plugin flow can vary, so follow the current prompts for each destination rather than expecting one universal setup screen.

  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

Use Custom RTMP for an unlisted destination

If a platform is absent from the output list, Custom RTMP is an option when that platform supports RTMP ingest. XSplit identifies Custom RTMP as the route for RTMP-compatible destinations that lack a named output. XSplit Broadcaster and its supported-sites information describe the native-output and Custom RTMP options.

  1. In the destination platform’s live-stream settings, find its RTMP server or ingest URL and stream key. Platform menus and permissions vary; use that platform’s current instructions.
  2. In Broadcaster, choose the Custom RTMP output and enter the server details and key as requested.
  3. Save the output, then start it from the Broadcast menu and verify reception in the destination’s live dashboard.

Do not use Custom RTMP if the destination does not accept RTMP ingest. XSplit’s general setup material establishes the RTMP route, but does not document every platform’s credential workflow.

When Multi Output Mode is the better fit

Use Multi Output Mode when one production needs more than one canvas layout—for example, a landscape version and a portrait version—not merely because you want the same layout sent to two services. XSplit’s guide describes separate canvases with their own controls and resolutions linked to the same scene, and labels the feature beta. Read the Multi Output Mode guide.

XSplit’s November 14, 2025 announcement described the mode as allowing multiple streams from one source, each with its own resolution, aspect ratio, and platform destination. That is XSplit’s product description, not a guarantee that every platform or account can use every combination. XSplit’s announcement.

There is also a platform-eligibility distinction: XSplit’s March 2026 release notes said eligible users could use Multi Output for YouTube Dual Stream, but encoder access was limited to selected users at that time and YouTube stream-key credentials had to be copied manually from YouTube Live Studio. Treat those as dated release-note conditions, not an assurance of present access. XSplit release notes.

Check destinations, license, and production needs

  • Destination support: XSplit’s supported-sites page names outputs including Twitch, YouTube Live, Facebook Live, Dailymotion, Vimeo Livestream, and Restream.io. The list may change; check the current output/plugin list for a service not named there. If it supports RTMP, Custom RTMP may work.
  • License: XSplit’s multistream guide specifies Broadcaster Premium or Premium Bundle for direct simultaneous outputs. Do not infer current price or bundle eligibility from that feature guide.
  • Layout: Multiple destinations generally call for separate outputs; multiple aspect ratios or canvases call for Multi Output Mode. The latter is documented as beta.
  • Capture hardware: A capture card may be needed to bring a console or external camera source into the PC production. It is not a general requirement for software multistreaming. XSplit lists Elgato among compatible capture-card hardware. XSplit’s compatible capture cards.

Troubleshoot common multistream problems

  • The second platform does not appear in the Broadcast menu: confirm you completed Broadcast > Set up a new output for that destination and that the output is enabled. Look under Find more outputs; otherwise use Custom RTMP only if the platform supports RTMP ingest.
  • You cannot start multiple outputs: confirm the Broadcaster license meets XSplit’s stated Premium requirement, then check each output’s setup and authentication status.
  • A destination stays offline: verify the output is actually started in Broadcaster, then check that platform’s ingest URL, stream key, permissions, and live dashboard. If credentials may have been exposed, regenerate the stream key in the platform account and update the XSplit output.
  • The platform is not listed: check XSplit’s current supported-sites and output/plugin lists. Custom RTMP is only suitable for a destination that accepts RTMP.
  • A portrait or second-format workflow is unavailable: confirm you are configuring Multi Output Mode, not another destination output, and check current beta status and platform eligibility. YouTube Dual Stream availability and encoder access were limited in XSplit’s March 2026 release notes.

Or let it run in the cloud

If the actual goal is keeping a pre-recorded YouTube channel live around the clock, that is different from sending a live XSplit production to several platforms.
