First decide what “continuous playlist” means: to repeat videos already on YouTube in the player, turn on the playlist’s Loop control. To make a YouTube Live broadcast from prerecorded yoga files, use an encoder such as OBS—or a cloud service—to send the playback to YouTube. A playlist loop is not a live stream.

Repeat an existing YouTube playlist in the player
Use this when the sessions are already uploaded and you want viewers to replay the collection in YouTube. This repeats playback in the playlist player; it does not create a live event or make the channel appear live.
- Open a video that belongs to the playlist.
- Expand the playlist box beside or below the video.
- Select Loop. YouTube will repeat the playlist continuously in that player.
Broadcast one prerecorded session with OBS
For a live event made from a local recording, OBS plays the file and sends its output to YouTube Live. OBS Media Source supports common formats including MP4, TS, MOV, MKV, AVI, FLV, and WebM, and is documented for Windows, macOS, and Linux. The exact interface can vary by OBS version and operating system.
- Confirm channel eligibility. YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. First-time activation of live streaming may take up to 24 hours, according to YouTube Help; enable it ahead of the planned broadcast.
- Create the YouTube live stream. In YouTube Studio, open Live Control Room and create or schedule a stream. Use the encoder option so YouTube provides the stream URL and stream key.
- Add the recording in OBS. In a scene, add a Media Source, choose the yoga video file, and enable its Loop property so playback restarts at the end.
- Connect OBS to YouTube. In OBS stream settings, select YouTube if available, or configure the provided server URL and stream key. Treat the key like a password: anyone who obtains it may be able to send a feed to your live event. Do not publish it or include it in a screen recording.
- Check the outgoing picture and sound. Start the encoder and wait for the preview in Live Control Room. Confirm the watch page plays correctly, check on a phone as well as a computer, and monitor audio and video before relying on the stream.
- Go live. Once the preview is healthy, start the broadcast from YouTube’s Live Control Room if the stream is scheduled to require that step. Keep OBS and the computer running, and maintain a reliable internet connection for the broadcast duration.
Broadcast several sessions in sequence
OBS’s VLC Video source can play a local playlist. VLC must be installed for the source to appear, and 64-bit OBS requires 64-bit VLC. OBS documents Loop Playlist as on by default and shuffle as off by default, so files play in their listed order and the sequence repeats.

- Install VLC matching your OBS architecture (for 64-bit OBS, install 64-bit VLC).
- In OBS, add a VLC Video source to the scene.
- Add the yoga session files to its playlist in the order you want them played.
- Check that Loop Playlist is enabled and that shuffle is disabled if you need a fixed sequence.
- Connect OBS to the YouTube stream URL and key, then test the preview, watch page, and audio before starting the live event.
Check bandwidth, rights, and viewer expectations
Leave upload headroom
YouTube’s encoder guidance recommends upload bandwidth with 20% headroom beyond the total stream bitrate. For example, if the configured stream bitrate is 6 Mbps, plan for at least 7.2 Mbps of sustained upload capacity (6 × 1.2), not merely a connection that occasionally reaches that speed. Other household or studio traffic can reduce the bandwidth available to the encoder.
Clear rights for every part of the recording
YouTube’s livestream terms place responsibility on the creator to have the necessary rights for Live Content, including music licensing rights for worldwide use on Google services. Confirm permissions for the instructor’s video, music, voice, and any third-party material in each session before broadcasting. A recording being available to you does not by itself establish that you can rebroadcast it live.

Follow YouTube’s Community Guidelines and terms, and label the live event and playlist accurately. If viewers are watching recorded sessions, say so in the title or description rather than implying that the instructor is live. YouTube’s playlist policy says playlists must not mislead viewers about their contents.
Plan for long streams and replay retention
YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived; streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all. Its DVR feature lets viewers pause and resume, but rewind may be limited or unavailable for very long streams, including those over 12 hours. If preserving a complete replay matters, keep a separate local recording rather than relying on YouTube’s archive or DVR for a stream beyond that duration.

Common problems and fixes
- The playlist repeats, but the channel is not live: You have enabled YouTube’s player Loop control. Use an encoder-based workflow if you need a live event.
- OBS does not show VLC Video: Install VLC, then restart OBS. Confirm that VLC and OBS have matching architecture; 64-bit OBS needs 64-bit VLC.
- The YouTube preview does not appear: Check that live streaming is activated for the channel, the correct server URL and stream key are set in OBS, and the encoder is running. First-time activation may take up to 24 hours.
- The stream stalls or drops frames: Compare sustained available upload bandwidth with the stream’s total bitrate and preserve YouTube’s recommended 20% headroom. Reduce competing network use or lower the encoder bitrate if the connection cannot sustain it.
- The video ends instead of repeating: For one file, check the Media Source’s Loop property. For a sequence, check Loop Playlist in VLC Video.
- The event is live but audio or framing is wrong: Check the preview and watch page before sharing the event, and verify audio and video on a mobile device as well as a computer.
- A long broadcast has no complete replay: YouTube may not capture streams over 12 hours, and DVR rewind can be limited for very long streams. Keep a local recording if you need a full copy.
