YouTube does not promise that one stream will stay uninterrupted for 24 hours, so plan for encoder, network, and rights issues before launch.
Choose how to keep the stream running
For a do-it-yourself setup, an encoder sends video and audio from a computer to YouTube Live. You can run it on a dedicated computer, but that computer, encoder software, and internet connection must remain available for the stream to continue. YouTube documents the encoder workflow; it does not endorse a particular computer or encoder model.

Check channel eligibility and prepare the programming
- Confirm live-stream access. YouTube says a channel must be verified and must not have had live-streaming restrictions in the past 90 days. Its help page says streamers must be at least 16. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance.
- Plan the Hindi and Gujarati rotation. Decide which recordings will play, in what order, and when language or devotional themes change. Use a schedule and titles that clearly identify the programming so viewers know what is playing. A single channel can present both languages; explain the rotation in the stream title, description, or schedule.
- Prepare rights-cleared recordings. Confirm that you have permission for both the underlying compositions and the specific sound recordings. A bhajan being traditional or devotional does not by itself establish that a particular recording is free to broadcast.
Create the YouTube stream and connect an encoder
- In YouTube Studio, open Live Control Room and create or schedule a stream. Add a title, description, and schedule that make the Hindi and Gujarati programming clear. You can manage stream metadata and scheduled streams in YouTube’s live-stream settings.
- In the encoder, enter YouTube’s live server URL and the stream key shown for the broadcast. YouTube describes the key as the credential that tells the encoder where to send the feed. Keep it private: anyone with access to it may be able to send a feed to your stream. Follow YouTube’s encoder setup steps.
- Choose a video resolution, frame rate, codec, and bitrate that your equipment and upload connection can sustain. YouTube supports RTMP/RTMPS encoder workflows and publishes recommended settings in its encoder settings and bitrate guide. Treat those values as configuration guidance, not as a guarantee that a particular connection will remain stable.
- Start the encoder and check the preview and stream health in Live Control Room before making the broadcast public or directing viewers to it.
Size the connection and test the full path
YouTube recommends upload bandwidth above the total bitrate of the stream, with 20% headroom. If you configure primary and backup feeds, include both in the bandwidth calculation, then leave the recommended headroom. A connection that barely matches the video bitrate can become unreliable when other devices use the network or the connection fluctuates. See YouTube’s streaming tips.

- Test a representative section of the actual recordings, including both Hindi and Gujarati audio, before announcing the 24/7 stream.
- Listen for clipping, silence, or sudden volume changes; check that the visual portion is appropriate and does not expose unintended material.
- Preview the feed in Live Control Room and check stream health before and during the broadcast.
- For a computer-based setup, account for power, operating-system restarts, encoder crashes, and internet interruptions. Arrange human monitoring and a recovery plan rather than assuming the stream will run unattended indefinitely.
Understand rights, copyright checks, and monetization
Obtain the rights for the music you broadcast
YouTube’s live-stream terms make the provider responsible for having the necessary rights to exploit the live content on Google services worldwide, including music licensing rights. That can involve rights to a composition as well as rights to a particular recording. Read YouTube’s livestream terms and conditions and verify the permissions that apply to your recordings and intended use.
Expect live copyright detection
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. It may replace a stream with a placeholder and warn the creator; if the content remains, YouTube may interrupt or terminate the broadcast. A license does not necessarily prevent a live interruption: the rights owner may also need to allowlist your channel through Content ID. An archived live stream may receive a Content ID claim after it ends. Details are in YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams.

Keep monetization review separate from copyright permission
Having permission to use recordings does not by itself guarantee that a channel will qualify for monetization. YouTube reviews reused content at the channel level, separately from copyright enforcement. Its policy also says repetitive or mass-produced content is ineligible; on July 15, 2025, YouTube renamed its “repetitious content” policy to “inauthentic content.” Consider whether the channel adds meaningful original value rather than simply republishing minimally altered material. Plan for the 24/7 operating requirement
YouTube’s encoder documentation describes how to send a live feed and says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. It does not establish a guarantee that a single stream will remain uninterrupted for 24 hours. For a continuous channel, plan for disruptions and decide how you will restart or recover the feed. Keep a person responsible for checking stream health and responding to copyright warnings, encoder failures, or network loss.
