Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →To keep a Hanuman Chalisa stream live around the clock, send a tested feed to YouTube through an encoder, provide stable upload bandwidth, monitor the stream, and make a separate recording if you need an archive. First, confirm you have rights to the exact chant recording and every visual you plan to use. YouTube may interrupt a live stream for a copyright match, and a session longer than 12 hours may not be captured as an archive.
Choose how to send the continuous feed
YouTube supports both software encoders running on a computer and dedicated hardware encoders. A separate hardware appliance is optional; choose based on your input sources, desired uptime, ability to monitor the stream, and backup plan.
| Approach | What it involves | Best fit |
|---|---|---|
| Software encoder | A computer runs the encoder and sends the feed to YouTube. The computer and its network connection must remain available. | Creators who already have a suitable computer and can keep it powered, connected, and monitored. |
| Hardware encoder | A dedicated device encodes and sends the feed. YouTube does not require one, and the right device depends on the input and operating setup. | Creators who need a separate appliance for their chosen production setup. |
YouTube lists software and hardware options, and says expensive equipment is not required to get started. Its encoder guidance also names AWS Elemental MediaLive as a broadcast-grade cloud processing service; availability and suitability depend on the service and setup.
Check channel eligibility and prepare the live stream
- Enable livestreaming in advance. YouTube’s current eligibility guidance says the channel must be verified and must not have had livestreaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. The streamer must be at least 16. First-time activation can take up to 24 hours, so do not leave it until the planned start.
- Create or schedule an encoder stream in YouTube Studio. Use the Live Control Room flow for an encoder stream, then copy the server URL and stream key into your encoder. YouTube’s interface labels can change; follow the current encoder setup flow in Studio.
- Protect the stream key. Treat it like a password: do not publish it or share it with people who do not need access. If you think it has been exposed, reset it in the Live Control Room and replace the saved key in the encoder.
- Prepare the source. Check the complete video, audio, and any overlays or still images. Confirm that the audio is audible and not clipping, the visuals are intentional, and playback does not stop unexpectedly. Keep a local copy of the media.
Set encoder and network settings for a stable feed
Use a supported ingest and predictable encoding
YouTube’s encoder guidance recommends RTMP or RTMPS ingestion, constant bitrate (CBR) encoding, and a two-second keyframe interval; do not exceed four seconds. Select a resolution and frame rate your machine and connection can sustain, rather than choosing the maximum setting by default.

For one concrete reference point, YouTube lists 720p at 30 fps with a recommended video bitrate of 2 Mbps and a range of 1.5–4 Mbps. This is a video-bitrate recommendation, not a guarantee of reliable service or the total bandwidth required once audio and network overhead are included. Check YouTube’s current encoder settings guidance for the resolution and frame rate you actually plan to send.
Leave upload headroom
YouTube says the total stream bitrate must fit within available upload bandwidth and recommends leaving 20% headroom. Shared home or office connections can reduce the bandwidth available to the encoder, and a network disruption can break the feed. Test outbound upload capacity under realistic conditions and assess the actual stream load before relying on a continuous session.

- Prefer a stable wired connection where practical.
- Check whether other household or workplace devices will use the same upload connection.
- Watch the encoder and YouTube stream-health indicators during a test, and lower settings if the connection cannot sustain them.
Test before leaving it to run
- Set up well ahead of the start. YouTube recommends starting the encoder at least 15 minutes before the scheduled start.
- Check the Live Control Room preview. Confirm the correct feed appears, then open the watch page and check playback from a separate device or browser.
- Listen as well as look. Check audio levels and continuity, picture stability, and whether the selected video or playlist progresses as intended.
- Verify your recording plan. Make a short local test recording and confirm it can be played back. Do not assume YouTube will provide a complete archive for a day-long session.
- Monitor the live stream continuously. YouTube recommends ongoing monitoring. If you have a backup encoder, test the failover by stopping the primary encoder or disconnecting its Ethernet cable, then check whether playback rolls over as intended. That test is operational guidance, not a promise that every setup will fail over successfully.
Plan around YouTube’s 12-hour archive caveat
YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived, while streams exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. If you need a saved copy, record locally and verify that the recording is intact. YouTube’s archive guidance does not promise that restarting a long stream will create gapless playback or a complete archive, so treat shorter scheduled sessions as an operational choice to assess—not as a guaranteed workaround.
Clear the chant recording and visuals before broadcasting
A traditional devotional text does not automatically make a particular performance, sound recording, backing track, image, or video free to use. YouTube’s livestream terms place responsibility on the streamer to hold the necessary rights, including music licensing rights. Its copyright guidance says live content is scanned for third-party material; a match may replace the stream with a placeholder, and an unresolved match can lead to temporary interruption or termination.

Before going live, verify permission for the exact recording and visual assets, including the relevant territories and uses. A license for a third-party recording may not by itself prevent a Content ID interruption: the rights owner may also need to add your channel to its allowlist. YouTube’s terms state: “You represent and warrant that you have all necessary rights for the exploitation of the Live Content on the Google Services throughout the world, including, without limitation, music licensing rights from artists, record labels, publishers (including public performance licenses) and any other royalty participants.”
Troubleshoot common interruptions
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| YouTube Studio does not show the encoder feed | The encoder has the wrong server URL or stream key, or livestreaming is not enabled. | Recheck the encoder stream details in Studio and confirm channel eligibility and activation. If the key may have been exposed, reset it and update the encoder. |
| Playback buffers or stream health degrades | The total bitrate is too high for available upload bandwidth, or the connection is shared or unstable. | Reduce the stream settings to a sustainable level, check actual upload conditions, and preserve YouTube’s recommended 20% bandwidth headroom. |
| The stream ends after a network or power interruption | The encoder, computer, power supply, or network connection stopped sending the feed. | Restore the interrupted component, check the Live Control Room, and restart the encoder if needed. For a critical feed, test a backup path in advance; failover is not guaranteed. |
| A placeholder appears or the stream is interrupted over copyright | YouTube detected third-party material, or the rights owner has not allowlisted the channel. | Review the match and rights status, use only assets cleared for the stream, and contact the rights owner about allowlisting where appropriate. |
| No complete YouTube replay appears | The session exceeded 12 hours, or archive capture otherwise did not produce the copy you expected. | Use and verify a separate local recording when an archive matters; YouTube warns that streams over 12 hours may not be captured. |
