This is a do-it-yourself setup, not a guarantee of uninterrupted broadcasting: test it before relying on it, monitor the encoder and stream health, and clear the rights to every video and audio track.
What you need before starting
- A YouTube channel eligible for live streaming. YouTube requires channel verification and no live-streaming restriction during the previous 90 days.
- FFmpeg installed on a computer or server that can stay running and maintain a reliable upload connection.
- The Hindi video files in the order you want them played, with compatible stream layouts if you plan to use the concat demuxer with stream copy.
- Permission to broadcast every video and audio track in the playlist on YouTube Live.
A 24/7 feed means the FFmpeg process, host, and network connection must keep operating. The steps below explain the encoding workflow; they do not provide a tested universal command for every file collection or FFmpeg build.
1. Create a YouTube Live stream and protect its key
- Open YouTube Live Control Room and create or select the stream you intend to use.
- Copy the ingest URL and stream key shown for that stream into your encoder configuration.
- Keep the stream key private. Treat it like a password: do not put it in a public script, repository, screenshot, or message. If it is exposed, replace it in YouTube Studio before broadcasting again.
YouTube’s live-stream setup and eligibility guidance is available in its live streaming help and encoder setup instructions. Use the URL and key from your own Live Control Room rather than assuming an ingest address.
2. Check and arrange the Hindi videos
Make the playlist order explicit
Create a plain-text playlist file with one entry per video, in the intended sequence. For FFmpeg’s concat demuxer, the file uses a format like this:

file '/path/to/video-03.mp4'Use paths that exist on the machine running FFmpeg. If a path contains an apostrophe, escape it according to FFmpeg’s concat-list syntax; do not assume that quoting a path in the playlist works exactly like quoting it in a shell command.
Decide whether stream copy is compatible
The concat demuxer is the lower-processing route when all files have matching stream layouts, codecs, and time bases. If those properties differ, direct concatenation with stream copy may fail or create playback and timestamp problems. The demuxer adjusts timestamps between files, but inaccurate duration information can still cause artifacts.
For a mixed collection, use a concat filter and re-encode to a consistent output instead. This is more flexible but uses CPU or other available encoding resources, and you must choose output codec, resolution, frame rate, audio format, and bitrate deliberately. Check the files’ properties before choosing a method; there is no safe assumption that arbitrary Hindi videos can be joined unchanged.

3. Loop the playlist with FFmpeg
FFmpeg documents -stream_loop as an input option. With a compatible concat-demuxer playlist, the conceptual command structure is:
ffmpeg -stream_loop -1 -f concat -safe 0 -i playlist.txt

-f flv "RTMPS_INGEST_URL/STREAM_KEY"This is a template, not a universal ready-to-run command. Replace the destination with the ingest URL and key from Live Control Room, and use paths and options appropriate for the installed FFmpeg build and your files. Confirm how your FFmpeg version applies looping to the concat input. Stream copy is appropriate only when the input is compatible with the chosen output and YouTube ingest requirements; mismatched media generally calls for filtering and re-encoding instead.
Do not publish a real stream key by inserting it into an article, public script, or shared terminal recording. For a persistent setup, keep credentials in a protected configuration or secret store and limit access to the host.

4. Configure YouTube-compatible ingest
YouTube recommends RTMPS, the encrypted extension of RTMP. Its current encoder guidance supports H.264, H.265/HEVC, or AV1 video; AAC or MP3 audio; constant bitrate (CBR); and frame rates up to 60 fps. YouTube recommends a two-second keyframe interval and says it should not exceed four seconds. The encoder should match the actual ingest URL and settings offered for your stream.

These are YouTube’s published configuration figures, accessed October 3, 2026; they are guidance for the listed H.264 settings, not a promise of stream quality or a universal bitrate for other codecs and frame rates. Choose a bitrate for the actual output and make sure your sustained upload capacity can support it with headroom. A speed test can help assess the connection, but it cannot guarantee that the path will remain stable all day.

5. Preflight, start, and monitor the broadcast
- Run a short unlisted test using the same playlist type, audio, motion, resolution, frame rate, and bitrate you plan to use.
- Check that the video advances across file boundaries, the Hindi audio is present and synchronized, and the stream appears correctly in Live Control Room.
- Review YouTube’s stream-health status and any encoder messages before making the feed public.
- During the broadcast, monitor the FFmpeg process, host, network, and YouTube Live Control Room. A 24/7 arrangement needs an operator or monitoring process able to detect and address failures.
YouTube’s guidance is explicit: “Make sure to test before you start your live stream.” The cited platform instructions do not certify a particular FFmpeg restart, failover, or uptime design, so do not treat an unattended command as an availability guarantee.

Before going live, confirm you have rights to stream every video, music track, and other protected material in the playlist. YouTube scans live streams for third-party matches. A match can replace the feed with a placeholder, interrupt it, or terminate the stream. Even licensed content may be interrupted if the rights holder has not allowlisted your channel through Content ID. Hindi-language content is subject to the same checks.
Use YouTube’s copyright guidance and make any required rights-holder arrangements before starting a continuous feed. A license alone may not resolve a Content ID interruption if channel allowlisting is required.

What happens to the 24/7 archive?
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. That statement does not establish that one complete archive will be retained for a stream running longer than 12 hours or continuously. If preserving the full program matters, plan and verify a separate recording or archive workflow rather than relying on a single YouTube archive.
Troubleshooting common failures
