To broadcast Indian stock-market news around the clock, you need a continuous video feed and an encoder or cloud playout service that sends it to YouTube Live. A YouTube watch-page playlist is not itself a documented way to create a continuous live broadcast: prepare the video or graphics feed, connect it to YouTube with a stream key, and monitor the output. Before showing market data or third-party reporting, confirm you have permission to redistribute it.
What “playlist” means for a 24/7 live stream
A YouTube playlist collects videos for viewers to watch; it does not, by itself, turn those videos into a live broadcast. For a live channel, a content source or playout system must keep producing a continuous feed, and an encoder must send that feed to YouTube Live. YouTube’s encoder instructions cover connecting and starting a stream, not automatically looping a watch-page playlist (YouTube Help: Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder).
Your source might be a rotation of prerecorded reports, a digitally generated market bulletin, or a newsroom feed. The setup differs, but the YouTube side follows the same basic pattern: create a live stream, provide the server URL and stream key to a compatible encoder, start sending the feed, and monitor it in Live Control Room.
Check rights before building the broadcast
Clear the material you intend to show before scheduling a 24/7 stream. Rights can apply to video clips, music, graphics, voiceovers, third-party news reports, and market data. Owning a recording or having access to a data feed does not automatically establish permission to rebroadcast it publicly.

Do not assume that seeing a quote on screen, paying for a feed, or subscribing through a broker grants public redistribution rights.
Those policy points concern NSE data. They do not establish the rights for BSE data, another vendor’s feed, news footage, or every legal issue that may apply in India. Confirm permissions with the relevant exchange, data provider, and content rights holders for every source you use.
Copyright and reused material
Use footage, music, and reporting only when you have the rights or permission needed for this use. A live format does not make someone else’s material yours, and a stream made mostly from reused clips can create copyright or channel-monetization concerns. Keep records of licenses and permissions, and review YouTube’s current policies before broadcasting. Do not treat permission to display market figures as permission to use accompanying news video or music.

Build and start the stream with an encoder
This is the self-hosted workflow: your source produces the program, your encoder sends it, and YouTube provides the live destination. Use the exact settings and controls supported by your encoder and YouTube’s current Live Control Room.
- Prepare a continuous program. Assemble the reports or create the graphics feed, then configure your playout source to keep supplying video and audio (or a deliberate silent feed) without gaps. Confirm that every element is cleared for broadcast. YouTube’s encoder guide does not prescribe a playlist-looping application or a particular 24/7 playout design.
- Create or schedule the live stream. In YouTube Studio, open Live / Live Control Room and create a stream or schedule one. Follow the stream setup prompts to obtain YouTube’s server URL and stream key. Keep the key private: anyone with access to it may be able to send a feed to your broadcast.
- Configure a compatible encoder. Enter the server URL and stream key in the encoder’s streaming destination, select the ingest protocol and video settings it supports, and connect the prepared program as its input. For a digital bulletin, the source may be generated entirely in software; cameras, microphones, mixers, and headsets are only needed if your signal chain uses them. YouTube’s general guide does not prescribe a minimum computer specification or a particular encoder.
- Send the feed and verify it. Start streaming from the encoder. YouTube says the watch page is created when the encoder begins sending content. For a scheduled stream, wait for the preview in Live Control Room, then select Go live. Check the preview and live output for picture, audio, graphics legibility, and unwanted gaps.
- Monitor the broadcast. Keep an operator or a reliable monitoring process responsible for checking the encoder, network, and YouTube Live Control Room. A 24/7 plan needs a response for a frozen source, lost connection, or failed encoder; the YouTube setup guide is not a guarantee of uninterrupted transmission.
Choose an ingest protocol your encoder supports
For a standard encoder setup, follow YouTube’s stream URL and stream-key instructions. RTMP is the ordinary choice when it is supported by your workflow and its latency suits your needs. If you specifically need HLS, select HLS when creating the stream key and use an HLS-capable encoder; do not apply HLS-specific requirements to an RTMP setup.

Those are HLS requirements, not universal encoder settings. The appropriate protocol depends on encoder compatibility, required features, and how much delay your market-news use case can tolerate; the cited guidance does not give a latency figure for your specific channel.
Plan for power, network, and archive limits
Self-hosting requirements
A self-hosted encoder depends on the device running it, local power, and a stable internet connection. A mini PC is one possible category of always-on computer, but YouTube’s general guide does not name a suitable model or minimum specification. Check the encoder’s own requirements and test the complete feed before relying on it for continuous operation. Arrange monitoring and a way to restart the source or encoder after a failure.
A digital feed may not need camera, microphone, or mixer hardware. Choose equipment around the actual signal path rather than buying peripherals that the program does not use.

Archives and long-running streams
YouTube Help states, “All streams under 12 hours will be automatically archived.” That is a boundary for the stated automatic archiving behavior, not a promise that one 24/7 stream will produce a complete replay. If you need replays, plan how to divide or record the program and verify YouTube’s current behavior before promising viewers a full-day archive.

Troubleshoot common failures
- YouTube receives no signal: Check that the encoder is running, the server URL and stream key were copied correctly, and the selected ingest protocol matches the configured stream key. Regenerate or re-enter the key if needed, keeping it private.
- The scheduled stream has a preview but is not live: In Live Control Room, wait for the encoder preview and select Go live for the scheduled broadcast.
- The program stops or freezes: Check the source or playout loop, encoder process, power, and internet connection. Restore the feed and monitor Live Control Room rather than assuming the stream recovered on its own.
- HLS does not ingest correctly: Verify that the encoder is HLS-capable and that the key was created for HLS. Check the HLS-specific segment, playlist, request, and encryption requirements above; they do not apply to RTMP.
- Viewers cannot get a full-day replay: Do not infer a complete 24-hour archive from YouTube’s under-12-hour automatic archive statement. Plan separate recording or segments and verify current archiving behavior.
- A market-data provider objects to the broadcast: Stop showing the affected feed until you confirm the relevant agreement permits the intended public display and redistribution. Rights for one source do not establish rights for another.
