You can run prerecorded Malayalam film songs as a continuous YouTube Live feed with an encoder that plays a playlist and sends it to YouTube. Before choosing equipment or scheduling the stream, clear the rights for every composition and recording: YouTube scans live broadcasts for third-party matches and can interrupt or terminate a stream. Then verify your channel, set up and test the encoder and playlist, and plan how you will manage long sessions and archives.
1. Clear the music rights before you prepare a stream
Do not start with a playlist of songs you merely own, downloaded, or found online. Those facts do not establish permission to broadcast the music live. You need the necessary rights for both the composition and the specific sound recording, for the territories where the stream will be available and for the uses you plan, including livestreaming and any archive.
Build a track-by-track rights record
For each item, record the song title, the exact recording and version, the composition and recording rights holders or administrators, the territories covered, and whether permission covers a YouTube livestream and an archived copy. Get written permission from the relevant parties. Rights for one version of a song do not automatically cover another recording, the underlying composition, or every territory.
YouTube’s livestream terms put responsibility on the provider to have the necessary rights for worldwide exploitation on Google services, including music licensing rights from artists, record labels, publishers and other royalty participants. That is YouTube’s stated requirement, not individualized legal advice. A permission limited to one territory or use may not meet it.

Confirm Content ID handling with rights holders
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. A match can trigger a warning, a placeholder image in place of your video, an interruption or termination; a stream can also be terminated for a strike. A licence does not necessarily prevent automated interruption: YouTube says a licensed third-party stream may still be interrupted if the channel is not on the rights owner’s Content ID allowlist. Ask each relevant rights holder whether allowlisting is required and arrange it before your test stream.
Giving credit, buying an ordinary music download, or seeing a track on a music platform is not proof that you may broadcast it live. YouTube’s Creator Music guidance also says its tracks are for long-form videos and cannot be used in live streams or Shorts, so do not treat Creator Music as a shortcut for this format.

2. Check that your channel can go live
YouTube’s encoder-stream guidance says the channel must be verified and must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the preceding 90 days. First-time activation of live streaming can take up to 24 hours, so complete the check well before your intended start time. These platform details can change; check YouTube Studio and its current Help guidance when setting up your stream.
3. Choose a playback and encoding setup
The encoder sends video and audio to YouTube; a separate playback function or service must keep the pre-recorded program moving through the playlist and restarting it as intended. YouTube supports software encoders and standalone hardware encoders. Neither category by itself guarantees reliable 24/7 looping: verify playlist advancement, restart behavior, alerts and recovery with the option you choose.

Software or standalone hardware
A software encoder may suit an operator who already has a suitable computer and can keep the machine, playback software, power and network running. A standalone hardware encoder is an optional dedicated device, not a requirement established by YouTube’s guidance. In either case, plan how playback will loop and how you will notice and recover from a failure. The cited YouTube guidance does not establish that one category is inherently more reliable for continuous music streams.
Create the YouTube stream and connect the encoder
- In YouTube Studio, open the Live Control Room and create or schedule an encoder stream. Use the stream setup shown there for the intended title, visibility and schedule.
- Copy the stream URL and stream key from YouTube into the matching fields in your encoder. Treat the key like a password: do not publish or share it. If it is exposed, replace it in YouTube Studio before the next broadcast.
- Configure the encoder to send the playlist’s video and audio to YouTube. YouTube’s general RTMP/RTMPS guidance recommends RTMPS, supports H.264, H.265 or AV1 video and AAC or MP3 audio, and recommends a two-second keyframe interval that should not exceed four seconds.
- Set constant bitrate (CBR). Choose resolution, frame rate and bitrate using YouTube’s current encoder settings table for the format you intend to send, and ensure the encoder output and your available upload capacity are compatible. Do not guess a bitrate from download speed.
- Start the encoder output and wait for the preview in Live Control Room. Check the picture, sound and stream-health messages before making the stream public or starting the scheduled broadcast.
4. Test the playlist and the full stream before launch
Use a private or unlisted test where practical, with the same type of audio, motion, resolution and frame rate as the planned program. Test the entire path—not just whether one file plays—because continuous operation depends on both the encoder connection and the playlist behavior.

- Confirm that sound and picture remain synchronized and that audio is audible without clipping or unintended silence.
- Let the playlist reach the end. Verify that it advances through all intended videos and restarts in the expected order, without gaps, blank output or an unwanted stop.
- Test what happens if the network connection is briefly interrupted, the encoder restarts, or the playback application closes. Check whether it resumes automatically and whether you receive an alert.
- Watch the Live Control Room preview and stream-health messages during the test. Set up the encoder stream ahead of the public start and leave time to correct problems.
YouTube’s encoder guidance describes connecting, previewing and monitoring a stream; it does not establish a universal playlist-loop procedure or a service-level guarantee for continuous playback. Test the specific software, hardware or hosted service you select rather than assuming it will loop or recover as required.

Measure outbound upload capacity, not just download speed. The stream’s bitrate must fit the connection reliably; YouTube recommends keeping 20% upload headroom. If you send a backup feed as well, account for its bandwidth too. A connection that only just matches the target bitrate leaves little margin for variation and can lead to buffering or a dropped stream.

Use a reliable network and test during the conditions in which the stream will run. If the connection is shared, busy, or unstable, reduce the chosen output settings in line with YouTube’s current settings guidance, or arrange a more suitable upload connection before going live.
6. Plan 24-hour operation and archiving separately
A continuous playlist and a single continuous archive are different requirements. YouTube’s encoder help says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived; it does not establish that one 24-hour session will be archived as one ordinary video or settle exactly how longer sessions are handled.
If you need archives, plan separate sessions shorter than 12 hours and verify the current behavior in YouTube Studio. That produces separate sessions rather than a promise of one uninterrupted archived video. If your priority is an always-on live feed, test how your setup handles long operation and reconnects; do not infer archive behavior from the fact that playback continues.
7. Troubleshoot the problems most likely to interrupt a music stream
- YouTube does not receive a signal: Check that the encoder uses the current stream URL and stream key from the correct YouTube stream, that the key has not been reset, and that the encoder is actually sending output.
- The stream starts but drops or buffers: Check outbound upload stability and bitrate. Leave the recommended 20% headroom, account for any backup feed, and test whether a network interruption is followed by a successful reconnect.
- The preview is blank or the audio is missing: Check that the encoder is sending a supported video and audio codec and that the selected playlist item has an audio/video track in the expected format. Verify the preview before starting publicly.
- The playlist stops at the last video: The encoder connection can remain configured while the playlist itself ends. Check the playback application’s loop or playlist settings, then test a full end-of-list restart before launch.
- A Content ID warning appears or the feed is interrupted: Stop and resolve the rights issue with the relevant rights holder. Confirm the permission covers the exact recording, livestream use and territory, and ask whether the channel must be allowlisted. Repeatedly restarting without resolving the match does not establish permission.
- The stream runs longer than expected but no single archive appears: Do not assume a 24-hour session will be archived as one video. Use the under-12-hour archive guidance as your planning limit and confirm current handling in Studio.
Or let it run in the cloud
If you would rather not leave a computer or encoder running at home, StreamNeo is a YouTube-only cloud service for uploaded videos: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. Its cloud playback is designed to keep the channel running with your computer off, and it automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The stream uses your upload as made, up to 4K 60fps, with one flat price per slot rather than quality tiers. Each slot includes one always-on stream and 10 GB of storage, pooled across your active slots; it is for prerecorded uploads, not a camera feed.
