You can run a Sanskrit shloka meditation stream from OBS by preparing a simple scene, connecting OBS to a YouTube encoder stream, testing the feed, and keeping the computer and internet connection running. First make sure your channel can livestream and that you have rights to every recording and visual. A single uninterrupted 24-hour event is not a dependable way to create a complete YouTube replay: streams longer than 12 hours may not be archived.
Before you begin
Check YouTube livestream eligibility
YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days; its general eligibility guidance also says streamers must be at least 16. Check your channel in YouTube Studio and enable live streaming before you plan the broadcast. YouTube’s livestreaming eligibility and enablement guidance explains the requirements and activation process.
Prepare content you have permission to use
You are responsible for rights to the material in both the live broadcast and any archive. YouTube’s Livestream terms and conditions say you must have the necessary rights worldwide, including music licensing rights. The age or traditional status of a Sanskrit verse does not establish that a particular modern recording, musical arrangement, translation, artwork, or image is free to use. Keep permission records for the specific assets you include.
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. A match may trigger a warning, replace the stream with a placeholder, interrupt it, or terminate it. If you have licensed matched content, YouTube advises asking the rights owner to add your channel to their Content ID allowlist; a licence alone may not prevent an interruption. An archived stream can also receive a Content ID claim after the broadcast. See YouTube’s copyright guidance for live streams.

Keep the setup modest
For a static meditation image and prerecorded shloka audio, start with a computer that can run OBS, the media files, and a stable network connection. OBS’s setup wizard considers your hardware and network conditions. The cited guidance does not establish a minimum computer specification or a need for a gaming PC, capture card, or expensive microphone.
Set up the OBS scene

Install and open OBS Studio, then run Tools → Auto-Configuration Wizard. Choose the option that matches your intended use and follow the recommendations it generates for your computer and connection. Review the result rather than assuming one resolution or bitrate will suit every setup. OBS’s Quick Start Guide describes the wizard and initial setup.

Create a scene for the meditation stream. Add a still image or gently changing visual, and optionally add text such as the shloka title or transliteration. These are content choices, not YouTube requirements.

Set up the audio source deliberately. Check OBS’s Audio Mixer while the shloka recording plays. Confirm that the intended source registers and that unwanted microphone or desktop audio is not being captured. Listen to a test recording or private test broadcast before going public.

Review the OBS output and video settings, using the wizard’s recommendations as a starting point. There is no universal bitrate, resolution, or keyframe interval established for every computer and connection in the cited setup guidance. Do not force a setting your upload capacity cannot sustain; test the chosen configuration and monitor the resulting stream health.

If you use OBS’s local recording as a backup, check that the recording starts and that the file grows during a test. Confirm that the destination drive has enough free space for the recording duration you intend to retain.
Connect OBS to YouTube

In YouTube Studio, select Create → Go Live and create or schedule an encoder stream in Live Control Room. Scheduling can let viewers receive reminders, and you can reuse prior stream settings when appropriate. YouTube’s encoder livestream setup instructions cover creating the stream and connecting an encoder.

Copy the stream URL and stream key from YouTube’s stream settings into OBS’s streaming settings. Treat the key as a credential: keep it private, and do not show it in a public screen capture or recording. YouTube describes the key as what tells the encoder where to send the feed and lets YouTube accept it. Its stream settings guidance covers reusable settings and options including DVR and auto-start/auto-stop.

Start the OBS output and check the Live Control Room preview before making the event public. Verify the image, audio, stream health, and watch page. Test the watch page on desktop and mobile, and make sure the local backup is recording if you are using one. YouTube recommends testing and continuous quality monitoring in its live streaming tips.
Plan for a continuous schedule
Do not rely on one 24-hour YouTube archive
YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived, but warns that streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all. It recommends keeping a local archive as a backup. Do not promise viewers that one continuous 24-hour event will produce a complete replay. If a complete recording matters, retain a local copy and decide how you will manage files and event boundaries. See YouTube’s livestream archiving guidance.
Make a monitoring and recovery plan
OBS running continuously depends on the computer, power, network, and encoder continuing to work. YouTube’s guidance recommends preparing the encoder stream in advance, checking the preview, testing failover where available, confirming local archive files grow, testing access from channel and watch pages on mobile, and monitoring audio and video quality. It does not guarantee round-the-clock uptime or prescribe a specific restart cadence.

Keep a local recording where practical, and verify during the stream that its file is still growing.

Decide who will notice a dropped feed and how they will restart the encoder or create a replacement event. Test that recovery plan before relying on it.

Consider YouTube’s event controls, including DVR and auto-start/auto-stop, in light of how you intend to start and end each event; those controls are not a substitute for monitoring.
Discovery and presentation
Give the stream a clear title and description that identify the Sanskrit shloka meditation and accurately describe the recording and visual. YouTube says tags generally play only a minimal role in discovery, except where a topic is commonly misspelled, so prioritize useful viewer-facing information over keyword stuffing. If you schedule an event, viewers may be able to receive a reminder. Avoid implying a live performance if the broadcast is prerecorded.
