To show Hindi song lyrics on a 24/7 YouTube music stream, compose them into the video picture—either as a text overlay in an encoder scene or by rendering them into a finished video—and send that output to YouTube Live. YouTube’s documented live-stream tools do not provide a native lyric-overlay feature or a Hindi-specific setup recipe, so test your chosen software for accurate Devanagari rendering, timing and readability before going live. First, clear the rights to both the recording and the lyrics: YouTube scans live streams for third-party matches, and a license alone may not prevent interruption if the rights holder has not allowlisted your channel.
Choose how the lyrics will appear
There are two practical ways to put Hindi lyrics on screen. Use an encoder scene if you want to change the text or visuals while streaming. Use a pre-rendered video if the songs, lyric timing and visuals are already set and will repeat as one finished programme. Neither method replaces rights clearance for the music or the words.
| Method | Best suited to | What to prepare |
|---|---|---|
| Encoder scene with text overlay | A stream where you may change scenes, songs or lyrics during the broadcast | The authorized audio, lyric text, visual scene, and a tested text-rendering setup in your chosen streaming software |
| Pre-rendered lyric video | A fixed sequence intended to loop without changing its contents | A finished video with authorized audio and lyrics timed and rendered into the picture |
YouTube documents encoder-based streaming, but its official guidance does not specify how particular third-party software adds text. Menu names, font controls and overlay workflows therefore depend on the application you choose.
Clear the music and lyric rights before you stream
YouTube’s livestream terms and conditions put responsibility on the provider to have the necessary rights for the live content worldwide, including music licensing rights involving artists, record labels, publishers and other royalty participants. For a song, check rights in both the sound recording and the underlying composition; displaying the words also requires permission to use the lyric text where that permission is needed. Which permissions apply depends on the track, agreements and territories. These platform rules do not determine the rights needed for a particular song or provide jurisdiction-specific legal advice.

YouTube says live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content, and continued use of matched content can lead to interruption or termination. It also warns that licensed third-party content may still be interrupted unless the content owner adds the channel to its Content ID allowlist. If you have a license, ask the relevant rights holder whether your channel must be allowlisted and keep the license and correspondence available. See YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams.
- A track being available in YouTube Music does not by itself establish permission to rebroadcast its recording or display its lyrics.
- Buying a track or finding lyrics on a website does not by itself establish the necessary live-stream and lyric-display rights.
- YouTube says Creator Music licensing and revenue sharing apply to long-form videos, not live-content licensing. A Creator Music listing is not permission for this 24/7 live stream; see its usage details and FAQ.
- YouTube cautions that a “free” label alone does not make music copyright-safe. Check its tips for finding safe music.
Prepare the Hindi lyrics and test the presentation
- Use a verified lyric source. Check the spelling, punctuation and line breaks against a source you are authorized to use. Do not assume lyrics found online are accurate or free to display.
- Build the scene or finished video. In your chosen production software, place the Hindi text over the music visuals, or render it into the pre-recorded video. The specific controls depend on the software; YouTube’s encoder guidance does not prescribe an overlay tool.
- Test representative Devanagari text. Include the characters, vowel signs and conjuncts used in the songs. Look for missing glyphs, substituted characters, awkward line breaks and text that becomes hard to distinguish from the background.
- Check timing and readability. Compare each lyric line with the authorized recording. Check contrast, margins and text size, then preview playback on both desktop and mobile screens. Make corrections before the continuous stream rather than relying on the production version to reveal rendering or timing problems.
- Test the entire repeat point. If the programme loops, inspect the end-to-start transition for a gap, abrupt lyric change or audio discontinuity. For an encoder scene, rehearse changing to the next lyric or song without showing incorrect text.
Set up YouTube Live and the encoder
YouTube lists mobile, webcam, encoder and console as ways to go live. For a designed music-and-lyrics presentation, the encoder workflow lets your selected production software compose the output before sending it to YouTube Live. Check YouTube Studio to confirm live-stream access: YouTube says the channel must be verified and must not have had live-stream restrictions in the preceding 90 days. Its live-streaming setup guidance explains the available methods and eligibility.

- Prepare your production output. Open the scene or finished programme you tested. Confirm the correct song, lyric track and audio source are selected.
- Use YouTube’s current encoder guidance. Configure the encoder for RTMP or RTMPS and use the resolution, bitrate and other settings appropriate to your chosen output, following YouTube’s current encoder settings, bitrate and resolution recommendations. The recommended values depend on the output configuration; do not choose settings by guesswork.
- Connect the encoder to the live event. In YouTube’s live setup, obtain the stream details for the event and enter them in the production software as directed by its current interface. Keep stream credentials private. YouTube’s encoder documentation covers the connection workflow.
- Start the encoder and inspect the preview. YouTube’s live-streaming tips recommend preparing the encoder in advance, starting it before the scheduled event, checking the Live Control Room preview, and confirming the event is accessible before relying on it.
- Check the local recording and stream quality. Confirm local archive files are growing if you are recording, and monitor audio and video quality during the broadcast. YouTube transcodes an incoming encoder stream into output formats for different devices and network conditions; that does not guarantee your source, connection or production system will operate without interruption.
Plan for continuous operation and recovery
A setup that works for a short test is not automatically suitable for an uninterrupted 24/7 broadcast. YouTube’s live-stream tips call for monitoring quality and checking the encoder and event preview; they do not guarantee that a particular computer, connection or software will run continuously. Decide who will notice a failure, how they will check the event and source, and what they will do to restore the stream. If your chosen system supports failover, test it before depending on it.
- Run a test long enough to catch lyric timing drift, an unexpected loop transition or a production-software problem.
- Check both the viewer-facing stream and, if used, the local archive; a healthy local recording alone does not establish that the YouTube event is accessible.
- If YouTube interrupts a stream for a rights match, resolve the rights issue with the relevant owner. Reconnecting without permission or required allowlisting does not clear the underlying problem.
- Have an authorized replacement or fallback programme ready if a song must be removed. Do not assume that a platform warning or successful initial preview means every track has been cleared.
