To send a YouTube playlist—not just the video currently playing—open the playlist in the YouTube app, tap More and Share, then choose WhatsApp or tap Copy link. If you copy it, paste the link into the WhatsApp chat and tap Send. On a computer, copy the URL from the playlist page and paste it into the chat.
Share a playlist from the YouTube app
- Open the YouTube app and navigate to the playlist. You can find a channel’s playlists in its Playlists area.
- Tap the playlist’s More control, then tap Share. YouTube also provides a Copy link option for the playlist URL. See YouTube Help’s Android playlist-sharing instructions.
- If WhatsApp appears in the share options, select it and choose the contact or group. Otherwise, tap Copy link.
- Open the intended one-to-one or group chat in WhatsApp, paste the URL into the message box, and tap Send. WhatsApp documents this copy, paste and send workflow in its Help Center.
A message containing only one link creates a WhatsApp preview. The preview is just a display of the link; it does not grant access to videos that are private.
Share a playlist from a computer
- Open the playlist page in a browser.
- Copy the address from the browser’s address bar.
- Paste it into the intended WhatsApp chat and send it.
Before sending, check that the address identifies the playlist, rather than only one video in it. YouTube gives youtube.com/playlist?list=<playlist ID> as an example of a playlist URL. Its computer instructions explain sharing a playlist from its page.
If the recipient cannot open the playlist or a video
A playlist link does not override a video’s privacy settings. If the playlist contains private videos, the owner needs to invite the recipient to view those videos. Someone may be able to open the playlist but still be unable to watch a private item in it. Check the video’s access settings or ask its owner for an invitation.

Mobile website limitation
YouTube Help says its mobile website supports sharing individual videos, but not playlists; use the YouTube app for the documented playlist-sharing flow. This behavior may change, so if the mobile website does not show playlist-sharing controls, open the playlist in the app instead.
