You can’t set up UPI to receive YouTube Super Chat earnings in India. Google’s AdSense for YouTube payment-method table lists wire transfer for India, while its UPI instructions cover paying Google Ads in advance—not receiving creator earnings. Set up your payout method in AdSense for YouTube instead.
How YouTube Super Chat earnings reach you
Eligible creators receive YouTube earnings, including earnings from Super Chat and Super Stickers, through AdSense for YouTube. You set up or link that account from YouTube Studio. YouTube earnings are tracked in a dedicated YouTube payments account, with its own payment threshold.
For an Indian payment address, Google’s country table lists wire transfer as the AdSense for YouTube payout method. The methods shown in your account are the practical guide: Google says a method that does not appear under Add payment method is not available in that country.
Set up your creator payout method
- Set up or link AdSense for YouTube. In YouTube Studio, follow the account setup or linking prompts for creator earnings. Do not create a second account under the same payee name: Google allows only one AdSense or AdSense for YouTube account under that name.
- Complete account verification and tax steps. Submit the tax information Google requests. Complete identity and address verification if your account reaches the relevant threshold or Google asks you to do so.
- Wait until payment-method selection is available. Google makes the option available after the YouTube payments account reaches its payment-method selection threshold. Thresholds depend on the reporting currency, and each payments account must meet its own payment threshold.
- Enter your bank details. Sign in to AdSense for YouTube and go to Payments → Payments info → Add payment method. Enter the bank information requested, choose whether to make the method primary, and save it. Follow the exact fields shown for your account.
- Check payment status. Monitor the YouTube payments account balance and status in AdSense for YouTube. The INR threshold amount is not established here; check the current value shown in your account or Google’s official help page rather than relying on an unverified figure.
Why Google’s UPI instructions do not apply
Google’s page titled About payment methods for Google Ads describes UPI as a way to make prepayments. That is money sent to Google to fund advertising, not a payout sent to a creator.
The Google Ads UPI flow has its own conditions: an India billing address, an INR Google Ads account, prepay billing, and a bank account registered for UPI. Google says this payment method is currently available in the Google Ads Android app. Those details do not make UPI an option for receiving YouTube earnings.

When YouTube earnings are paid
Google says finalized YouTube earnings are generally added to AdSense for YouTube between the 7th and 12th of the month after they are earned. To be included in that month’s payout, your balance must meet the applicable payment threshold and payment changes must be completed by the 20th. Payments are generally issued between the 21st and 26th; Google says bank transfers may take up to seven working days after issue.
These are Google’s documented monthly process dates, not a guarantee of a particular arrival day. The applicable threshold depends on reporting currency and applies separately to each payments account.
Super Chat eligibility is separate from getting paid
Being able to receive creator earnings is different from being allowed to offer Super Chat or Super Stickers. Google lists conditions that include being at least 18, living in a region where the feature is available, and accepting the Commerce Product Module (or the formerly applicable addendum). Check the eligibility information in YouTube’s Super Chat and Super Stickers help and your Studio account.
