To keep prerecorded Spanish-language sermons playing on YouTube around the clock, enable livestreaming on a verified church channel, create or schedule a stream in YouTube Studio, and send its stream URL and private stream key to an encoder or cloud playback service. A continuous broadcast is not guaranteed by YouTube itself: it depends on the playback system, power and internet where applicable, the playlist, and recovery and monitoring plans.
Choose how the sermons will play
YouTube supports software encoders and standalone hardware encoders. A hardware encoder is optional, not a prerequisite. For prerecorded sermons, the key question is how the source videos will play continuously and recover if something interrupts the feed.

Prepare the YouTube channel
- Verify the channel and confirm it has no live-streaming restrictions from the previous 90 days. YouTube requires both conditions for livestreaming.
- Enable livestreaming well before the intended launch. YouTube says first-time activation can take up to 24 hours.
- Choose a person responsible for launch checks and for responding if the stream stops. A 24/7 schedule still needs an operational recovery plan.
Create or schedule the stream in YouTube Studio
- Open YouTube Studio and select Go Live.
- Create a new stream or schedule one. A scheduled event provides an upcoming watch page that can be shared in advance.
- Set a clear Spanish-language title and description, an appropriate thumbnail, visibility, and other stream settings for the intended congregation and viewers.
- In Live Control Room, locate the stream URL and stream key for the encoder connection. If the encoder offers an RTMPS option, YouTube recommends using it for transport encryption.
Connect the encoder and protect the stream key
In the encoder, enter YouTube’s stream URL as the server address and the stream key in the key field. The exact field names vary by encoder; use the values shown for the selected stream in Live Control Room.

- Treat the stream key like a password. Do not put it in a public description, document, or screenshot.
- Limit access to people who need to configure the stream. Reset the key if it is exposed or you suspect unauthorized use.
- Confirm that the encoder is sending the intended sermon playlist and audio before starting the public broadcast.
Test before announcing a continuous service
- Start the encoder early enough to check the incoming feed in Live Control Room before the intended start.
- Check that both picture and sound are present and that speech is intelligible. Verify the watch page from the channel and on a mobile device.
- Confirm the playlist advances and returns to the intended content rather than stopping or playing an unintended item.
- If you use local recording or a backup encoder, test those paths separately. YouTube recommends advance setup, previewing, backup testing, and monitoring audio and video.
Plan bandwidth, recovery, and archives
Leave upload bandwidth headroom
YouTube’s network guidance says available upload bandwidth must accommodate the total streaming bitrate and recommends 20% headroom. Account for other traffic on a shared connection: upload capacity, not the advertised download speed, is what matters. If a backup stream is sent in parallel, budget for the primary and backup bitrates together, plus the recommended headroom.
Make interruption recovery someone’s job
Continuity depends on the encoder or playback service, power, internet, and the source playlist. Monitor stream and network health, check that playback continues, and assign an owner to act after an interruption. YouTube’s setup guidance does not promise an uninterrupted 24/7 service.

Do not rely on one 24-hour broadcast for a complete archive
YouTube states that streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. A single continuous 24/7 stream should therefore not be treated as a guaranteed complete automatic archive. If individual sermons need to remain available as recordings, test local recording or deliberately divide programming into shorter sessions, weighing the added operational work.
Confirm rights for sermons, worship, and other material
The church is responsible for securing the rights needed for both live and archived content. YouTube’s livestream terms require rights for worldwide exploitation of live content, including music licensing rights. Check permissions for sermon recordings, worship music, backing tracks, images, and any other third-party material before including them in a continuous feed. YouTube’s terms state: “You represent and warrant that you have all necessary rights for the exploitation of the Live Content on the Google Services throughout the world, including, without limitation, music licensing rights from artists, record labels, publishers (including public performance licenses) and any other royalty participants.” Read YouTube’s livestream terms.
