Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →To reduce interruptions, connect your streaming computer to the JioFiber gateway by Ethernet, measure upload speed on that same connection, set a conservative encoder bitrate that leaves YouTube’s recommended 20% headroom, and rehearse while watching Live Control Room’s preview and stream-health messages. No JioFiber plan-wide upload rate or drop-free guarantee applies to every location; the right settings depend on the upload capacity and stability you actually measure.
First, identify what “drops” means
A live stream can fail in different places, and the fix depends on which one is happening. Creator-side dropped frames or an ingest interruption points toward the encoder, local network, or connection to YouTube. Viewer buffering can instead be a playback or viewer-network problem even if your outgoing stream is healthy. Check the status and messages in YouTube Live Control Room during a rehearsal and during the event.
- Encoder or ingest warning: investigate the computer, encoder settings, upload stability, and network path.
- Viewers report buffering but Live Control Room looks healthy: do not assume the JioFiber connection is the cause; ask whether the issue affects particular viewers or devices.
- Only Wi-Fi streams are unstable: focus first on signal strength, gateway placement, interference, and competing devices.
Confirm your YouTube live setup
YouTube requires a verified channel and no live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days. For an encoder-based podcast, create or schedule the event in Live Control Room, enter the event’s stream key in your encoder, and inspect the preview before you start the show. Treat the stream key like a password: do not publish it or share it with anyone who should not be able to stream to your event. YouTube recommends preparing the encoder in advance and monitoring audio and video during the broadcast. See YouTube’s live streaming tips and manage live stream settings.
Stabilize the connection between the computer and JioFiber gateway
Prefer Ethernet for the streaming computer
For a desktop or laptop, connect the computer directly to the JioFiber gateway with Ethernet when practical. YouTube recommends Ethernet for computer live streams. A wired connection avoids Wi-Fi interference on the computer-to-gateway link, but it cannot raise your plan’s upstream capacity or fix a Jio service outage. If your laptop has no Ethernet port, use a compatible USB-to-Ethernet adapter.

- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
If you must use Wi-Fi
Place the gateway in an open, central location, away from cabinets and obstructions; reduce the distance and walls between it and the computer; and limit heavy network activity during the show. Jio notes that placement, walls, distance, interference, and connected-device load can affect Wi-Fi coverage. Its coverage FAQ describes about 1,000 square feet on the same floor under typical conditions, while emphasizing that actual coverage varies: Jio’s JioHome Gateway coverage guidance.
A Wi-Fi extender or compatible mesh system may help if the room has weak Wi-Fi and the underlying broadband connection is otherwise sound. It will not solve insufficient upload capacity or an ISP-side fault.

Measure upload speed and set a bitrate with headroom
Run an upload speed test from the computer, using the same network path you will use for the stream. Test at a representative time and account for other household activity. The relevant figure is stable outbound capacity, not the download speed printed in an offer or plan description. YouTube recommends leaving 20% headroom above the total stream bitrate; shared network use can reduce the bandwidth available to your stream. Its guidance is at YouTube’s streaming tips.
For H.264, YouTube’s current encoder table lists these 30-fps settings. They are encoder recommendations, not a guarantee that a particular JioFiber connection can sustain them:

| Video setting | YouTube-listed minimum setting | Recommended range |
|---|---|---|
| 1080p at 30 fps, H.264 | 5 Mbps | 5–14 Mbps |
| 720p at 30 fps, H.264 | 3 Mbps | 3–8 Mbps |
The numbers refer to outgoing encoder bitrate, not viewer download requirements. If your upload fluctuates or the stream-health panel reports trouble, lower the video bitrate or resolution and rehearse again. A mostly static podcast shot may work at a lower setting, but YouTube does not publish a podcast-specific bitrate rule.
Set the encoder and rehearse before going live
For RTMP or RTMPS, YouTube lists H.264, H.265, and AV1 video options; CBR bitrate encoding; frame rates up to 60 fps; and AAC or MP3 audio. Its recommended keyframe frequency is 2 seconds and should not exceed 4 seconds. YouTube recommends RTMPS for encrypted transport. Choose settings supported by your encoder and workflow, and change one variable at a time so you can identify what improves stability. The full current guidance is in YouTube’s encoder settings.

Troubleshoot interruptions by isolating the cause
The stream is stable on Ethernet but not Wi-Fi
This points toward the local wireless path rather than proving a broadband-line fault. Check gateway placement, walls, distance, interference, and competing devices. In the MyJio app, use Run Diagnostics to check router status, Wi-Fi strength, device connectivity, and common problems. See Jio’s Run Diagnostics instructions.
Upload is poor or fluctuates on both Ethernet and Wi-Fi
Repeat an upload test from the streaming computer, lower the outgoing bitrate if needed, and run MyJio diagnostics. Jio documents guided checks for speed drops, an offline router, loose cables, and configuration errors; if the problem continues, use Jio’s support or service-request options. A speed reading from another device or room does not establish the encoder computer’s available upload capacity.

The stream worsens when others use the home network
Pause or schedule large downloads, cloud backups, game downloads, and other uploads during the podcast. YouTube notes that shared network use can reduce bandwidth available to an individual stream. If the connection remains unstable after reducing competing traffic, lower the stream bitrate and rehearse again.
You need to check JioFiber speed from the set-top box
Jio’s NetVelocity guidance describes checking upload and download, latency, and whether the set-top-box result reflects Wi-Fi or LAN. That can help investigate the service, but it is not a substitute for testing the actual computer and network path used by the encoder. Details are in Jio’s NetVelocity FAQ.
A basic gateway restart may help, but is not a line repair
Restarting the router can clear minor issues. Jio says it recommends a monthly restart; treat this as basic troubleshooting, not a fix for a service fault. See Jio’s router reboot guidance.
Or let it run in the cloud
If your podcast uses uploaded video rather than a live camera, StreamNeo keeps a YouTube channel live from the cloud, so your computer and home connection do not have to stay on to keep the uploaded video playing. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. It streams the uploaded video as made, up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, with automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card; the Monthly price is $9.99 per month. Start your free day with StreamNeo.
