Quick wins for a faster PC:
Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →For YouTube Live, start at 30,000 Kbps for 4K (2160p) at 30 fps with H.264, or 35,000 Kbps at 60 fps with H.264. YouTube lists different ranges for AV1 and H.265: 8–35 Mbps at 30 fps and 10–40 Mbps at 60 fps. These are encoder-ingest recommendations, not proof that your internet connection can sustain a 24/7 stream. Test the actual upload path with representative nature footage and audio before relying on it.
Choose the bitrate for your resolution, frame rate and codec
The destination matters: the figures below are YouTube Live guidance, not a universal 4K streaming formula. YouTube’s current live encoder settings page gives these recommendations for 2160p:
| Output | AV1 or H.265 guidance | H.264 recommendation |
|---|---|---|
| 4K / 2160p at 30 fps | 8–35 Mbps | 30 Mbps |
| 4K / 2160p at 60 fps | 10–40 Mbps | 35 Mbps |
Source: YouTube live encoder settings, accessed in 2026. Use the value for your actual codec and frame rate; do not treat the AV1/H.265 range as the H.264 recommendation. OBS expresses video bitrate in Kbps, so 30 Mbps is 30,000 Kbps and 35 Mbps is 35,000 Kbps.
For a static landscape or slowly moving ambience scene, 30 fps may be sufficient if it suits the footage. Choose 60 fps when the source and intended presentation call for it, not simply because the output is 4K. The encoder table does not prescribe a special bitrate for nature ambience or guarantee a particular visual result.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Set the 4K output and bitrate in OBS
- Confirm the destination and frame rate. This setup assumes YouTube Live. Decide whether the stream will be 3840 Ă— 2160 at 30 or 60 fps, and identify the encoder codec you will use.
- Set the video output. In OBS, open Settings → Video and set the output resolution to 3840 × 2160 and the frame rate to your chosen 30 or 60 fps. Check the output resolution, not only the canvas resolution.
- Set the encoder bitrate. Open Settings → Output, select the streaming output settings, and enter the YouTube recommendation that matches your resolution, frame rate and codec: 30,000 Kbps for H.264 at 4K30 or 35,000 Kbps for H.264 at 4K60. For AV1 or H.265, choose within YouTube’s applicable range and test the result.
- Connect the channel using its stream key. In OBS, configure the YouTube streaming service and use the stream key provided in YouTube Studio. Treat the key as a password: do not show it on screen or share it. If it is exposed, replace or reset it in YouTube Studio before the next broadcast.
- Run a controlled preflight. Use the channel’s available private, unlisted or other controlled test process. Include the intended audio and footage with motion similar to the planned ambience program; a still image alone may not reveal how the encoder behaves with the real scene.
- Check the broadcast before leaving it unattended. Inspect YouTube’s stream health and messages, and OBS’s dropped-frame status. Confirm the picture and audio remain stable over a meaningful test period before treating the setup as ready for continuous operation.
YouTube recommends testing upload bitrate and using test content with similar audio and motion, then monitoring stream health during the broadcast. It transcodes live streams for viewers on different devices and network conditions, but that does not compensate for an unstable feed arriving from OBS. See YouTube’s encoder guidance.
Make sure the connection can sustain the stream
The chosen video bitrate must fit the real upload connection continuously, not just during a brief speed test. Other devices or applications uploading data, variable wireless conditions and congestion can make an otherwise adequate connection unreliable. YouTube recommends testing upload bitrate; OBS notes that dropped frames can indicate an unstable connection or one that cannot keep up with the selected bitrate. See OBS dropped frames troubleshooting.

- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (5-in-1, 4K HDMI), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
- Prefer a stable wired connection for the streaming computer when available, and avoid competing uploads during the test and broadcast.
- Watch OBS’s network-related dropped-frame indicator and YouTube’s stream-health messages together. A clean OBS preview does not establish that the outgoing stream is reaching YouTube reliably.
- If frames drop or viewers report buffering, lower the bitrate and retest. If delivery is still unreliable, reduce resolution, quality or frame rate until the connection can sustain the output.
OBS’s buffering guidance also recommends lowering bitrate and, when needed, resolution, quality or frame rate. The right fallback depends on the actual connection and acceptable image quality; no single lower setting is guaranteed for every channel. See OBS streaming issues.
Use normal latency for YouTube 4K
YouTube’s current guidance says low latency is unavailable for 4K/2160p streams, which use normal latency. If you need the 4K picture, do not plan around the low-latency option. See YouTube’s live encoder settings.

Prepare a fallback and troubleshoot before going 24/7
A continuous stream makes small connection or configuration problems more consequential: a bitrate that only works under ideal conditions is not a robust choice for unattended operation. Save an OBS profile for the 4K configuration and a separate fallback profile, such as a lower resolution or frame rate. OBS documents profiles as a way to switch between configurations for platforms and resolutions: OBS profiles.
| Symptom | Likely issue to check | What to try |
|---|---|---|
| OBS reports dropped frames | The upload connection may be unstable or unable to sustain the selected bitrate. | Check connection stability and competing uploads, lower the bitrate, then retest. If needed, move to the fallback resolution or frame rate. OBS troubleshooting. |
| YouTube reports poor stream health or viewers buffer | The contribution feed may be arriving inconsistently, even if the local preview looks fine. | Review YouTube’s messages alongside OBS status, test with representative audio and motion, and reduce output load if the issue persists. YouTube encoder guidance · OBS streaming issues. |
| The 4K stream does not offer low latency | This is a YouTube 4K limitation, not necessarily a configuration fault. | Use normal latency for 2160p, or reconsider the resolution if low latency is essential. YouTube encoder guidance. |
| The planned bitrate works in a short test but fails later | A brief test may not represent changing upload conditions or competing network use. | Run a longer preflight under realistic conditions, monitor stream health, and keep a lower-load profile ready. |
Keep the 24/7 program suitable for YouTube
Technical stability does not establish that a stream is authorized or eligible under YouTube’s policies. Use footage and audio you own or have permission to use, and review YouTube’s applicable copyright and live-stream rules before broadcasting. Do not assume that looping a recording makes copyrighted material permissible or that a technically successful stream will satisfy every channel policy.
