If they will be live at the same time, use the appropriate encoder settings and stream keys, and stay within YouTube’s limits of 10 active streams per channel and 3 active streams per stream key. A playlist does not create or separate a live broadcast: use playlists to organize the replays after they appear in Studio.
Separate simultaneous streams from separate playlists
These are two different tasks. A broadcast is created or scheduled in Live Control Room and sent to YouTube using a supported method such as mobile, webcam, or an encoder. A playlist is an organizational tool for videos, including completed livestream archives. One playlist cannot turn one broadcast into several feeds.
If your events happen at different times, schedule each one separately and assign its replay to the right playlist afterward. If you need independent feeds live at once, set up a separate broadcast for each feed and account for YouTube’s channel-wide and stream-key limits before starting.
Check channel eligibility, including India mobile requirements
General live-stream eligibility
YouTube’s general live-stream guidance says the channel must be verified and must not have had live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days. The stated minimum age to live stream is 16. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance.

Additional requirements for mobile in India
For mobile live streaming, YouTube lists a minimum of 50 subscribers, channel verification, no live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days, and live streaming turned on. The first activation may take up to 24 hours. India is included in YouTube’s mobile availability information. This subscriber threshold is specific to the mobile workflow described by YouTube; do not treat it as a general requirement for webcam or encoder streams. Check YouTube’s mobile live-streaming instructions for current availability and requirements.
Create or schedule each broadcast
- Open YouTube Studio and go to Live Control Room. Choose Manage, then schedule a stream or create one for the event. You can reuse settings or configure a new stream for each broadcast. Follow YouTube’s instructions for scheduling a live stream.
- Give every broadcast a clear identity. Use a title, description, and schedule that tell viewers which event or feed they are opening. When scheduled, a stream can appear as upcoming and viewers may be able to set a reminder.
- Choose the production method for each feed. YouTube supports mobile, webcam, and encoder workflows. A webcam is optional, not a requirement for creating separate broadcasts or playlists. For encoder setup, use YouTube’s encoder instructions.
- For encoder feeds, enter the matching server URL and stream key. Copy the details from the relevant YouTube stream into the encoder sending that feed. Treat a stream key like a password: do not show it in public notes, screenshots, or other material viewers can access.
Stay within YouTube’s simultaneous-stream limits
YouTube Help states: “There is a limit of 10 active streams allowed per channel and 3 active streams per stream key.” Both limits apply at the same time. Before starting another feed, count all active streams on the channel and all streams using the key you intend to use. For example, staying below the channel limit does not make it possible to exceed the per-key limit.

These are YouTube’s documented caps, not a guarantee that every particular setup will work: your production method and network conditions also matter. The cited guidance does not establish a specific bandwidth requirement for multiple independent feeds, so check the requirements of your chosen production setup rather than assuming one connection can support any number of outgoing streams. Create playlists and assign the replays
Set up the playlists before the series
Create and name playlists around the audience or subject you want each archive to serve—for example, a documentary series, a language, or a recurring event. Decide whether each playlist should be public or have another visibility setting, and choose an order that makes sense for viewers. YouTube recommends organizing live-stream archives and highlight clips into playlists.

Add each completed livestream to the right playlist
- In YouTube Studio, open Content and select Live.
- Find the replay and open its video details.
- Add it to the playlist for that broadcast or series.
- Review the playlist’s visibility and ordering, then check that the video appears where you expect.
Make this a post-stream checklist item. A playlist organizes the replay; it does not automatically create another livestream. YouTube’s playlist guidance explains how to manage playlists and organize videos: Create and manage playlists.
Protect livestream archives, especially long events
YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived. Streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured, so YouTube recommends making a local recording as a backup. Confirm the replay exists before relying on it as the source for a playlist, and keep the recording until you have verified the archive. See YouTube’s live-stream archiving guidance.

Common problems and fixes
- A mobile stream option is unavailable: Check the mobile-specific requirements, including the 50-subscriber minimum for India, verification, good standing, and activation. First-time activation may take up to 24 hours.
- A new concurrent stream will not start: Count active streams across the whole channel and those assigned to the selected stream key. YouTube’s limits are 10 per channel and 3 per key, simultaneously.
- The wrong feed appears in the encoder: Confirm that the encoder has the server URL and stream key for the intended broadcast. Keep keys private and replace or reset an exposed key through YouTube’s controls.
- A replay is missing from the playlist: Check Studio’s Content > Live for the archive first, then open its details and add it to the intended playlist. Do not assume the playlist itself creates the archive.
- A long stream has no replay: Streams over 12 hours may not be captured. Use a local recording as backup and verify archives before depending on them.
