You can run a Malayalam devotional playlist as a YouTube Live loop by preparing a continuous video from recordings and visuals you are authorized to use, sending it to a YouTube Live event with an encoder, and monitoring the broadcast in YouTube Studio. Before you go live, clear both the music and visuals for livestream use; a song being devotional, traditional, or freely playable online does not automatically make a particular recording available to rebroadcast.
Before you start: clear the music and visuals
Make sure your permission covers the use you plan: a live broadcast, the places where it will be available, how long it may run, and—if you want a replay—the archived video. The composition and a particular recording of a devotional song may have different rights holders. Permission for one does not necessarily clear the other.
YouTube for Artists recommends coordinating with the label or distributor when using copyright-protected music in a live stream. YouTube Help also advises asking the rights owner to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist when you have a licence for material that may otherwise be identified. Keep written permissions and any territory, duration, archive, and monetization conditions available.
A playlist being available on YouTube or another service is not, by itself, permission to rebroadcast it. The same applies to cover art, devotional imagery, and background video. Use visuals you created or have permission to use, and avoid adding unrelated copyrighted material.

Prepare a continuous program
Arrange the authorized Malayalam devotional recordings and an authorized visual into the continuous audiovisual program you intend to broadcast. Check the sequence and transitions, and confirm that the audio and picture play as expected. This is a production step: YouTube’s guidance cited here does not prescribe a particular playlist-loop application, file format, or encoder configuration.
If you are making the program on a computer, use an encoder workflow. YouTube for Artists describes desktop encoders as offering more customization and control than a simple mobile or webcam stream. A new computer is not a stated requirement; start with equipment you already have if it can reliably run your chosen encoder and deliver the prepared program.

Enable and schedule YouTube Live
- Enable live streaming in advance. If this is your first live stream, verify your account with a phone number and allow at least 24 hours before the planned broadcast. YouTube for Artists gives this lead time for first-time live streaming.
- Create or schedule the event. In YouTube Studio, create a live event and choose an encoder workflow for the prepared program. Review the event’s visibility and start time before sharing it with viewers.
- Connect the encoder to the event. Use the stream key and connection details shown for the event in YouTube Studio, following the encoder’s instructions. Treat the stream key as a credential: do not publish it or share it with anyone who should not be able to send video to your stream.
- Configure the encoder for your source and connection. Set it to send the prepared program and check that the event receives both picture and sound. The YouTube sources cited here do not establish universal bitrate, resolution, or keyframe values for this particular workflow, so do not copy a guessed preset. Use the current instructions shown in YouTube Studio and your encoder, and test the result before broadcasting publicly.
You do not need to use YouTube’s API for an ordinary creator workflow. Its API guide describes the underlying sequence for API users: create a broadcast, create or reuse a stream, bind them, test, and then broadcast.
Test, start, and monitor the broadcast
- Run an unlisted test. YouTube for Artists recommends testing privately, particularly for a high-production or high-investment event. Confirm that YouTube Studio shows the incoming stream and that the intended devotional audio and visuals are present.
- Check the actual output. Listen for missing or unintended audio, check that the video is playing as planned, and make sure the loop continues across transitions. Correct any problems before the public event starts.
- Start the scheduled event and monitor YouTube Studio. Watch for stream warnings, restrictions, or copyright notices while it is live. YouTube scans live streams for matches to third-party content. A match may result in a placeholder, interruption, or termination; licensed material may still be interrupted if the rights owner has not allowlisted your channel through Content ID.
YouTube for Artists summarizes its advice this way: “If you’re planning on using copyright-protected music during your live stream, we recommend coordinating with your label or distributor to avoid any issues, such as copyright strikes.” YouTube Help states: “All live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content, including copyrighted content in the form of another live broadcast.”

Choose whether viewers should be able to replay it
If you want the broadcast to remain available after it ends, decide how you want it recorded and whether viewers should be able to play it back. In the YouTube Live Streaming API workflow, recordFromStart and enableDvr govern recording and immediate playback after completion. Those settings do not guarantee that every broadcast will remain available: settings, channel status, copyright claims, and other platform conditions can affect the result.
Understand monetization and repetitive-content considerations
YouTube for Artists reports that, on average, over 30% of daily logged-in YouTube viewers watched live content in Q2 2025. That is a platform-wide figure for that quarter, not a forecast of views for a Malayalam devotional stream.

Live-stream monetization features such as ads, Supers, and shopping depend on channel eligibility and YouTube’s rules. Copyright permission and monetization eligibility are separate questions. A licence to use music does not by itself establish that a repetitive loop meets YouTube’s monetization policies. Review the current rules for reused and repetitive content before relying on monetization; a loop should not be treated as automatically eligible or automatically ineligible based only on the fact that it repeats.

A microphone, camera, mixer, or capture card is not established as necessary for a preassembled playlist loop. Such equipment may matter if you are also performing live vocals or instruments, which is a different production setup.
Troubleshooting common problems
- The event will not start for a first-time streamer: live streaming may not yet be enabled. Verify the account and allow at least 24 hours before the planned first broadcast.
- YouTube Studio does not show the expected incoming program: check that the encoder is connected to the correct event and that it is using that event’s stream key and connection details. Confirm the encoder is sending rather than simply playing the program locally.
- The stream has picture but no sound, or the wrong sound: check the prepared program’s audio and the encoder’s selected audio source, then repeat an unlisted test before going public.
- A copyright notice appears or the stream is interrupted: check the notice and contact the relevant rights holder or distributor. If you have a licence, ask the rights owner to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist; do not assume that having permission alone prevents an automated interruption.
- You cannot promise a replay after the stream: check the recording and DVR choices for your workflow before going live, and account for channel status and any claims. Archive availability is not guaranteed for every broadcast.
