You can stream Kannada devotional recordings continuously on YouTube, but first secure permission for both the songs and the specific recordings you plan to play. Then create a YouTube live stream, connect an encoder using the stream URL and key, and monitor the broadcast. If you need saved replays, plan sessions shorter than 12 hours: YouTube warns that longer streams may not be captured.
Clear rights for every song and recording before you stream
Being devotional, traditional, purchased, or available as a free download does not by itself give you the right to rebroadcast a recording. YouTube’s livestream terms place responsibility on the provider to have the rights needed for live use, including applicable music rights from artists, record labels, publishers, and other royalty participants.
Rights to a song’s composition and rights to a particular sound recording are distinct. The permissions you need depend on the specific material and intended use; do not assume one party can authorize both. Identify the relevant rights holders or administrators and obtain written permission covering the live broadcast. If you intend to keep or monetize replays, make sure those uses are covered too. Rights and licensing obligations may vary by territory and use.
Make a track-by-track rights list
- Record the title of each song and identify the exact recording, artist, label, and composition publisher or administrator where known.
- For each recording, confirm permission for a continuous public livestream, the territories where it may be shown, the permitted duration, and any attribution or looping restrictions.
- Check separately whether you have permission for the underlying composition and the sound recording. Keep written permissions and rights-holder contact details together.
- Include any artwork, still images, video loops, or other visuals in your rights check; having permission for the audio does not establish permission for the visuals.
Prepare for Content ID even when you have permission
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. If it detects material, it may show a placeholder and warn you; if the material remains, YouTube may interrupt or terminate the stream. A license does not necessarily prevent an automated match from affecting a broadcast.

Ask each relevant rights holder or administrator whether your channel must be added to its Content ID allowlist before you go live. If a licensed track triggers a match, contact the rights holder about allowlisting and follow the instructions shown in YouTube Studio. After a session ends, check any archived video for claims.
YouTube’s Creator Music FAQ says Creator Music does not support licensing for live content, so it is not a substitute for permissions suited to a livestream.

Choose a live-stream schedule with the replay limit in mind

YouTube’s archive guidance distinguishes streams under 12 hours from longer streams; the longer stream may not be captured. If separate replays matter, schedule shorter sessions and retain a local archive. If uninterrupted availability matters more, plan how to restart after a failure and accept that a saved 24-hour replay is not assured. The cited guidance does not establish that any particular restart method creates seamless viewing or reliable archives.
Set up the YouTube stream and encoder
- Complete live-stream activation in advance. YouTube’s encoder setup guidance says first-time live activation may take up to 24 hours. Do not leave channel activation until the planned launch.
- Create or schedule the broadcast. In YouTube Studio, create or schedule a live stream and prepare its title, description, and visual presentation. Use only visuals you have the right to show.
- Copy the stream URL and key from YouTube Studio. Treat the key as a credential: enter it only in your encoder and do not publish or share it.
- Configure the encoder. Enter YouTube’s stream URL and key in the encoder’s streaming destination fields. The official setup sequence establishes these connection details, but the cited guidance here does not specify a bitrate, resolution, frame rate, or keyframe interval. Choose settings appropriate to your source and encoder rather than treating an unsupported number as a YouTube requirement.
- Start the encoder feed and verify the preview. Check the YouTube control room for incoming video and audio, then confirm the live state in YouTube’s controls before relying on the stream.
A hardware video encoder is optional, not a prerequisite. YouTube describes it as one possible component in an advanced setup. Decide whether you need one only after considering your existing computer, the visual complexity of the stream, connectivity, budget, and whether you can keep the equipment available.

Test the full operating plan before launch
Official setup and archive guidance does not prescribe a 24/7 uptime procedure. Run a test broadcast and check the parts of your own setup that could interrupt it:
- Playlist order, transitions, and audio continuity, including the end-to-start point if material repeats.
- The visual loop and whether the displayed material is authorized for the intended duration and territories.
- Encoder behavior after a dropped connection, and whether the stream resumes as expected in your setup.
- Internet and power recovery, including who can respond if either fails.
- Who will monitor YouTube Studio for copyright warnings, stream health, and termination notices, and how they will contact the relevant rights holder.
- How you will restart a stream and make a local recording if you need an archive.
These are operational checks to perform on your own system, not uptime guarantees from YouTube. Keep a local recording if preserving the program matters.
