You can use IRL Pro for its documented phone-broadcast workflow, but do not assume it is the playlist player.
Can IRL Pro run a prerecorded YouTube playlist 24/7?
Not on the evidence in the official IRL Pro guide. Enhanced IRL documents IRL Pro for Android broadcasting over RTMP or SRT: you configure a connection, set stream quality, and start broadcasting. That is a mobile live-feed workflow, not documented playlist playback. The guide does not establish that IRL Pro can select local videos, loop them, keep playing while unattended, or recover a 24/7 playlist after interruptions. Enhanced IRL’s IRL Pro guide
A continuous prerecorded stream has distinct parts: a playlist source plays the files, an encoder packages and sends the video, and YouTube receives that feed using its server URL and stream key. Before going live, verify that the source itself supports looping and unattended operation, and test how it behaves if the network or YouTube connection drops.
What you need before starting a YouTube live stream
- A YouTube-ready channel: YouTube says live streaming requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days; its help page also states that users must be at least 16. Check the current requirements in YouTube Help: Get started with live streaming.
- A playlist-capable source and encoder: Confirm that your chosen software or hosted service can play your prerecorded files in a loop, remain active unattended, and reconnect or alert you after interruptions. The IRL Pro documentation reviewed here does not confirm these capabilities.
- YouTube ingest details: In YouTube Live Control Room, create or select a stream and use the server URL and stream key shown for it in the encoder. YouTube’s encoder workflow is documented at YouTube Help: Stream using an encoder.
Set up the documented IRL Pro phone-broadcast workflow
These steps are for broadcasting a live feed from an Android device. They do not turn IRL Pro into a prerecorded playlist player.

- Choose RTMP or SRT in the Enhanced IRL dashboard. Copy the publish URL for the protocol you selected. The protocol must match in the dashboard and IRL Pro.
- Configure IRL Pro. In the app, select the same protocol, then paste in the publish URL. Follow the app’s current connection fields and guidance in the official IRL Pro guide.
- Set resolution, frame rate, and bitrate. Stay within the applicable plan bitrate cap. Enhanced IRL advises starting at a lower bitrate and testing the route with a walk to check mobile coverage; this advice concerns mobile broadcasting, not a 24/7 prerecorded playlist.
- Test the broadcast before relying on it. Start a test feed, check the image and connection in YouTube Live Control Room, and observe how the phone and network behave. Do not assume a test establishes unattended reliability or automatic recovery for a continuous stream.
- Start broadcasting. Begin the broadcast from IRL Pro and follow the relevant Live Control Room steps. YouTube’s encoder workflow describes entering its server URL and stream key in the encoder, then starting the encoder.
How to evaluate a source for a continuous playlist
For a prerecorded loop, assess the playlist player and continuous-output path separately from IRL Pro’s mobile broadcasting setup. Ask the provider or test the system against these requirements before publishing:
- Looping: Can it play the selected local media files in sequence and repeat them without manual intervention?
- Unattended operation: Does playback and encoding continue when no one is interacting with the app or desktop? What, if anything, must remain open?
- Recovery: If YouTube or the network disconnects, does the source reconnect automatically, resume the playlist, or require a person to restart it?
- YouTube output: Can it send an encoder feed to YouTube using the Live Control Room server URL and stream key?
- Monitoring and archives: Who notices a failure and restarts the feed? How will you verify whether YouTube archived a long broadcast?
Is Enhanced IRL Cloud OBS suitable?
Enhanced IRL documentation describes sending Cloud OBS output to YouTube after configuring the destination and starting the server. However, the documentation does not establish that Cloud OBS can loop a prerecorded playlist or guarantee 24/7 operation. Its lifecycle page says it turns off after about 30 minutes when it is not broadcasting and its desktop is not open. That behavior makes it important to test the exact workflow and desktop requirements rather than treating Cloud OBS as a turnkey unattended playlist service. Enhanced IRL Cloud OBS documentation

YouTube limits, stream keys, and long-stream archives
Active streams
YouTube Help currently lists a maximum of 10 active streams per channel and 3 active streams per stream key. These are platform limits, not a guarantee that a particular setup will stay connected. See YouTube’s live streaming help for current requirements.
Protect the stream key
A platform stream key grants access to your channel’s broadcast. Keep it private, do not include it in screenshots or public posts, and rotate it if it may have been exposed. Enhanced IRL also warns users to protect platform broadcast keys in its Cloud OBS documentation.

Archives for broadcasts longer than 12 hours
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. The cited help page does not promise that a 24-hour stream will be saved as one complete video, so do not rely on a single full-length VOD for a continuous broadcast. Plan separate recording or preservation needs accordingly, and check the current YouTube guidance at Stream using an encoder.
Troubleshooting a continuous-stream plan
- IRL Pro connects, but there is no playlist: The documented app workflow broadcasts a live feed; it does not establish playlist playback. Use a separate source whose looping capability is confirmed.
- The dashboard and app will not connect: Check that both ends use the same protocol, RTMP or SRT, and that you pasted the current publish URL for that protocol.
- The mobile feed stutters or drops: For the phone-broadcast workflow, lower the bitrate within the plan cap and test the mobile route; Enhanced IRL advises a lower starting bitrate and a test walk. This does not solve the separate requirement for an unattended prerecorded loop.
- A hosted output stops while idle: Check the service’s lifecycle and desktop-open requirements. Enhanced IRL says Cloud OBS turns off after about 30 minutes when it is not broadcasting and its desktop is not open.
- YouTube does not show the expected archive: The cited automatic archive rule applies to streams under 12 hours; it does not establish that a 24-hour broadcast produces one complete VOD.
- You suspect the stream key was exposed: Rotate the key through the relevant YouTube controls and replace it in the encoder before restarting.
