You can run a prerecorded playlist as a continuous YouTube live stream without leaving a computer switched on at home: prepare your channel and videos, upload the files to a cloud streaming service, arrange the playlist, connect it to YouTube, then test and monitor the broadcast. From India, check that a provider accepts your account and confirm its billing currency, taxes, storage and restart behavior before committing.
What you need before starting
- A YouTube channel eligible to livestream: YouTube requires channel verification and no live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. Enabling live streaming for the first time may take up to 24 hours, so do it before your planned launch. YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance.
- Prerecorded video files that you are permitted to livestream, plus any necessary music, performance, image and other rights.
- A cloud service that supports YouTube and can store your files, loop a playlist, and recover or restart the broadcast if the connection is interrupted.
- Access to YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room if the service needs a stream URL and key instead of an authorized channel connection.
For a channel’s first broadcast, create a short test stream early. Do not wait until the day you intend to run continuously: first-time activation can take up to 24 hours.

Other operating models
- Another hosted playlist service: YouTube lists Gyre as a cloud-based tool for 24/7 prerecorded streams. Gyre’s product information describes uploading video files, arranging a looping playlist and starting or scheduling a broadcast. These are vendor descriptions; confirm current terms, storage, restart behavior and India billing directly with the provider. YouTube’s encoder list and instructions and Gyre’s product page.
- Self-managed computer and encoder: You control the files and encoder, but the computer, power, network and encoder must remain available. An interruption at home can interrupt the stream.
- Configurable cloud encoder: YouTube also lists AWS Elemental MediaLive as a verified encoder. That listing establishes encoder support, not whether it is the simplest or least expensive choice for looping a playlist.
Before choosing a provider, ask whether it serves customers in India, which currency checkout uses, how taxes are handled, how much storage is included, whether playlist looping and scheduling are supported, what quality and concurrent-stream limits apply, and what happens after a YouTube or provider interruption. The published information available here does not establish India-region data location, tax treatment, uptime commitments or a like-for-like price comparison for these services.
Prepare your channel and files
1. Enable livestreaming and verify eligibility
- Sign in to the YouTube account for the channel, then open YouTube Studio and use the Live Control Room to begin the live-stream setup.
- Complete any requested channel verification and enable livestreaming. YouTube states that a channel must not have a live-stream restriction in the previous 90 days; first-time enablement may take up to 24 hours.
- Create a short test broadcast and confirm that the channel can go live before preparing a long-running playlist.
2. Check the videos and rights
A YouTube playlist link alone may not be enough to supply a hosted stream. The service needs access to the actual source files. For Gyre specifically, its help documentation says files must be uploaded to Gyre storage even if they are already on the creator’s YouTube channel or in an existing YouTube playlist. Check the chosen provider’s current file-ingestion instructions.

YouTube’s livestream terms require creators to have the rights needed to make the content available, including applicable music rights, and to follow the platform’s rules and applicable requirements. Owning or uploading a video does not automatically establish rights to every song, performance, image or licensed element inside it. Check permissions for the live broadcast and any archive it creates; observe YouTube’s Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.
3. Upload, order and review the playlist
- Upload the original files to the provider’s storage, following its supported formats and size limits.
- Arrange the playlist in the intended order and confirm whether the service repeats the full list automatically.
- Review the beginning and end of every item, audio levels, transitions and audience suitability. Use accurate stream metadata so viewers are not misled into thinking prerecorded material is a camera broadcast.
Gyre’s help page gives provider-specific preparation guidance of 1920×1080 or 1280×720, H.264 video, 3072–6144 kbps video bitrate, 128 kbps audio and 30 fps. These are Gyre’s recommendations, not universal YouTube requirements; consult its current help instructions before encoding for that service. Gyre file requirements.

Connect the cloud service to YouTube
Using a stream key
- In YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room, create or schedule a stream and open its stream settings.
- Copy the stream URL and selected stream key into the matching fields in the cloud service. YouTube describes stream keys as the password and address that let an encoder send the feed. Keep the key private; reset it if it may have been exposed. See Manage live stream settings.
- Use RTMPS when the encoder or provider offers it. YouTube recommends this secure transport, which protects the encoder-to-YouTube connection with TLS. Follow the provider’s instructions for entering the RTMPS server URL and key.
Using channel authorization
Some hosted services connect by asking you to authorize access to your YouTube channel rather than entering a stream key. Review the requested permissions and confirm that you are signing in to the intended channel before approving. Follow that provider’s documented connection flow.
Start, test and monitor the live stream
- Start the playlist from the service’s dashboard, or use its scheduling feature if you have configured one.
- Open the stream preview in YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room. Check picture, sound, stream health and any warnings before treating the broadcast as ready for viewers.
- Open the public watch page from a separate browser or device to confirm that the intended audience can access it and that the title and description are accurate.
- During operation, check the service and YouTube stream-health indicators periodically. A cloud provider removes the need for a local computer to send the feed, but it does not remove your responsibility to review the channel and broadcast.
YouTube recommends a keyframe frequency of two seconds and says not to exceed four seconds. Use constant bitrate encoding and select a bitrate appropriate to your chosen resolution and available connection; YouTube publishes encoder bitrate ranges by resolution. Follow the service’s current encoding workflow, because it may handle encoding or stream settings for you. YouTube encoder settings.

Plan around archives and interruptions
YouTube says live streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Its guidance does not establish that a single 24/7 broadcast will be retained in full, so do not rely on the live archive as the only complete copy of a long-running stream. If a full replay matters, check current archive and DVR behavior before launch and keep a separate authorized source archive where appropriate. YouTube live-stream archiving guidance.
Ask the provider what it does if YouTube drops the connection or its own service is interrupted, and how it reports a failed restart. Confirm how you will see platform warnings and whether the playlist resumes automatically. Keep a copy of the source files and playlist order so you can restore the broadcast if you need to move services.

Common problems and fixes
- You cannot start a stream: Check that channel verification and livestream enablement are complete, allow up to 24 hours for first-time activation, and confirm there is no live-stream restriction within the prior 90 days.
- The service connects but YouTube receives no feed: Confirm that the stream URL and key are paired correctly, the key belongs to the intended scheduled stream, and the service is configured for the correct ingest protocol. Reset a key that has been exposed.
- A playlist item is missing: Check that the source file was uploaded to the provider’s storage and meets its format and size requirements. Do not assume a YouTube playlist URL gives the cloud service access to the original video files.
- Video or audio quality is poor: Review the source file’s resolution, frame rate and audio; inspect YouTube’s stream-health warnings; and use the encoder settings appropriate to the output resolution. Provider-specific encoding guidance is not a universal YouTube specification.
- The live archive is incomplete: A continuous stream lasting 12 hours or more is outside YouTube’s stated automatic-archive assurance for streams under 12 hours. Use a separate authorized archive if retaining the full content is important.
- The stream stops after a rights or policy warning: Review the warning in YouTube Studio and confirm that all content, including music and embedded material, is cleared for livestreaming. Fix the underlying rights or policy issue rather than repeatedly restarting the same material.
