That is a manually operated phone-camera workflow—not a documented unattended 24/7 system. If you need a stream to keep running continuously, plan for a separate encoder or cloud setup; a phone app session should not be treated as an automatic, always-on broadcast.
What you need before going live
YouTube’s mobile-live guide requires all of the following:
- At least 50 subscribers.
- A verified YouTube channel.
- Live streaming enabled, with no live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days.
- An Android device running Android 8.0 or later.
YouTube says first-time live-stream activation can take up to 24 hours. Its general live-stream guidance also says creators must be at least 16 years old. Eligibility details and availability can change; check YouTube’s Android mobile-live requirements and general live-stream guidance before planning an event.
If your channel has between 50 and 999 subscribers, YouTube may limit the audience for a mobile live stream, and the archive may be private by default. After a channel reaches 1,000 subscribers, YouTube says removing that audience limitation may take several weeks. Check the audience and archive visibility settings rather than assuming a public stream will be available to everyone.

- 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
- 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
- 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
- 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
- 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)
All live content must follow YouTube’s Community Guidelines and Terms of Service. Do not try to bypass a live-stream restriction by switching to another channel.
Start a study-with-me livestream in the YouTube Android app
- Prepare the scene. Place the phone so the camera shows the study setup you want viewers to see. A stable, adjustable phone mount is optional, not a YouTube requirement. YouTube says new creators do not need expensive equipment to begin.
- Open the live setup. In the YouTube app, tap Create, then Live.
- Enter the stream details. Add a title and description, then review visibility and audience settings. Choose a format that fits the scene and intended viewers. You can schedule a stream for later. The mobile app can also screencast the phone, but a typical desk-focused study-with-me session uses the camera rather than a screen broadcast.
- Test before the real session. YouTube recommends trying a test livestream. If Live Practice Mode is available on your account, it lets you rehearse without a real audience; YouTube says this feature is rolling out, so it may not appear for everyone. Check that the stream is viewable where you expect and that the picture and sound are working. YouTube’s detailed preview and monitoring tips are written for encoder broadcasts, so app controls may differ.
- Start the stream. When you are ready, tap Go live. For a scheduled stream, return to Create → Live, open the calendar, and choose the scheduled stream.
- End the session yourself. When the study session is over, tap Finish. YouTube creates an archive that you can later edit for visibility or delete.
What “24/7” means when you are streaming from a phone
YouTube’s mobile instructions describe setting up or scheduling a broadcast and tapping Finish. They do not document unattended operation, automatic restarts, or a phone-and-network arrangement guaranteed to keep a stream live around the clock. YouTube describes mobile streaming as “Good for vlogging and quick updates from your phone or tablet.” That makes the app a sensible route for a study session you will start and manage, but not evidence that a phone-only setup can run continuously without your attention.

- SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
- HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
- BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
- COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
- INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.
YouTube documents encoder workflows separately and lists services whose descriptions include continuous 24/7 streaming. The distinction is based on YouTube’s documented product categories, not a guarantee about any particular provider’s reliability, price, or suitability. For a genuinely unattended broadcast, investigate a continuous-stream encoder or cloud workflow rather than assuming the Android app will provide one. YouTube’s encoder guide lists options, including OBS and services that describe continuous streaming; it does not say that OBS alone makes an Android phone stream continuously.
Choose a frame that suits the study scene
Vertical and horizontal video serve different viewing situations. YouTube says vertical livestreams can appear in a full-screen mobile live experience and may be discoverable as viewers browse Shorts. Horizontal video gives a wider view for laptops and TVs. YouTube also describes clickable chat and description links and live mid-roll or pre-roll ads for horizontal viewing; features can depend on eligibility, and the vertical live feed does not offer those same features.

For a desk scene, decide based on what must fit in frame: a vertical composition can suit mobile viewing, while a wide desk, books, timer, and seated creator may need horizontal framing. YouTube Studio on a computer can set up horizontal 16:9 and vertical 9:16 formats together by default. YouTube’s instructions require setting that layout before the stream; you cannot add the format after the broadcast has started. Neither orientation guarantees more viewers or faster channel growth.
Plan for the replay and the 12-hour limit
YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived. A stream longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all: “If your stream exceeds 12 hours, it may not be captured at all.” Treat that as a replay risk for a nominal 24/7 stream—not a complete backup. YouTube recommends making a local recording as a backup, but its guidance does not establish a reliable way to do that automatically from an Android-only mobile stream.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Keep the setup manageable
- Do a test stream before inviting viewers, and check the actual view on another device if possible.
- Keep the camera framing intentional: show the study scene you want to share, not distracting movement or a view that hides the desk.
- Monitor audio and video during a manually run session. YouTube recommends ongoing quality checks in its encoder tips; the precise monitoring controls may differ in the mobile app.
- Do not assume a stream archive is a backup, particularly for a broadcast that could exceed 12 hours.
- Use only material you have the rights to stream. Follow YouTube’s Community Guidelines and Terms of Service, including for background music or other media in the room.
YouTube does not establish a specific bandwidth threshold, Android battery runtime, phone-temperature result, or guarantee about background behavior in the cited mobile instructions. Treat power, heat, network stability, and interruptions as device- and environment-dependent, and do not plan an unattended all-day stream around an unverified phone endurance assumption.

Common problems and what to check
| Problem | What to check or do |
|---|---|
| The app does not offer Live | Check subscriber eligibility, channel verification, whether live streaming is enabled, any restriction in the last 90 days, and Android version. If this is the first activation, allow up to 24 hours. |
| Fewer viewers can watch than expected | If the channel has 50–999 subscribers, YouTube may limit the mobile-live audience. Review the stream’s visibility and audience settings; an archive may be private by default. |
| The stream will not continue unattended | The mobile guide does not document unattended continuity or automatic recovery. Manually manage the phone session, or assess an encoder/cloud workflow for a continuous broadcast. |
| The stream has no complete replay | A stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all, and DVR may be limited or unavailable beyond 12 hours. Do not rely on the archive as the sole recording. |
| The planned format is missing or wrong | For YouTube’s combined horizontal and vertical layout, configure it in YouTube Studio on a computer before starting. The format cannot be added after the stream begins. |
Or let it run in the cloud
If your goal is to keep a YouTube study stream running continuously, StreamNeo is a different kind of workflow from the Android camera app: it loops videos you upload, rather than broadcasting live from your phone camera. The setup is:
- Upload a study recording or build a playlist.
- Add your YouTube stream key once.
- Go live; StreamNeo loops the uploaded video from the cloud.
Nothing has to stay on at home. Each slot streams the uploaded video as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one price per slot; StreamNeo does not re-encode the upload. It can automatically recover if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly is $9.99 per month. StreamNeo streams to YouTube only; it is not a way to go live from an Android camera. See StreamNeo, or start the free day.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can a study-with-me livestream show my phone screen instead of its camera?
Yes. YouTube’s Android mobile flow supports screencasting as well as camera streaming; choose the option that matches your intended scene during setup.
Can I schedule a study stream in advance from Android?
Yes. Schedule it in the mobile live setup, then return to Create → Live, open the calendar, and select that scheduled stream when it is time to start.
