Short answer: YouTube’s Live Control Room can connect to an encoder using a server URL and stream key, but the available verified instructions do not establish a current VLC setup for publishing a continuous stream. Do not rely on guessed VLC menus or settings. First secure livestream and replay rights for every recording; then use the platform-side workflow below and an encoder with verified YouTube Live instructions. If your goal is continuous playback without leaving a computer on, cloud playout is an alternative.
Clear music rights before you build the playlist
Use only recordings for which you have explicit permission covering livestream transmission on your channel and any replay or archive you intend to make available. Buying a track or being able to access it does not establish permission to broadcast it. Rights depend on the particular recording and its rights holders; Haryanvi music is not automatically free to use.
Ask the label, distributor, or other relevant rights holder about the channel, territories, livestream use, and whether the planned archive is covered. YouTube for Artists recommends coordinating with a label or distributor before using copyright-protected music in a livestream. YouTube says live streams are scanned for third-party content; a match can trigger a warning, interruption, or termination. Even licensed music may be interrupted if the channel has not been allowlisted by the owner through Content ID. Request allowlisting when you obtain permission. YouTube Help: Copyright issues with live streams · YouTube for Artists.
No song-by-song clearance is established here. Treat written, recording-specific permission and any required Content ID allowlisting as launch prerequisites, not as something the stream software can solve.

Check whether the channel can go live
- Verify the YouTube channel.
- Confirm there is no livestream restriction in the preceding 90 days.
- Enable livestreaming in the account before the planned launch. YouTube says first-time activation can take up to 24 hours.
- The YouTube Help requirements say a streamer must be at least 16. Check the current eligibility details in YouTube Help: Get started with live streaming.
Connect an encoder through YouTube Live Control Room
The YouTube-side encoder workflow is documented; a reliable VLC-specific configuration is not established. The steps below cover the verified platform sequence, not a tested VLC walkthrough. Use an encoder only when you have authoritative instructions for its YouTube Live output configuration. Do not infer menus, codecs, or settings from this guide.
- Create or schedule the stream: In YouTube Studio, open the Live Control Room and create or schedule a livestream.
- Copy the connection details: Copy the server URL and stream key shown for that stream. Keep the key private; anyone who obtains it may be able to send a feed to your broadcast.
- Configure the encoder using its verified instructions: Enter the YouTube server URL and stream key in the encoder’s designated streaming fields. The exact VLC menus, output profile, codecs, and settings are not confirmed here.
- Start sending the feed: Start streaming from the encoder and wait for the incoming preview in the Live Control Room.
- Go live: Check the preview, then start the broadcast in the control room. The encoder feed and the YouTube control-room action are distinct parts of the process.
YouTube’s encoder instructions are at YouTube Help: Stream using an encoder. They establish how to connect an encoder to YouTube, not that a particular VLC version or configuration is suitable for a 24/7 Haryanvi music stream.

What the 24/7 schedule means for replays
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. A continuous 24-hour broadcast is longer than that documented automatic-archive window, so do not count on one complete replay being saved automatically. If preserving a complete replay matters, plan for shorter sessions or a separate recording and archiving process, and confirm that your music permissions cover those recordings. See YouTube Help: Archive live streams.
Keep a local broadcast running
With a local encoder, the computer and its internet connection remain in the broadcast chain for as long as it is sending the feed. A shutdown, loss of power, network interruption, or encoder problem can stop local playout. A UPS can provide optional backup power, and Ethernet can be an option if your computer and network support a wired connection; neither is a YouTube requirement or a guarantee of uninterrupted service.

- Livestreaming is not available yet: Check channel verification and eligibility, then allow up to 24 hours for first-time activation.
- YouTube does not receive the encoder feed: Check that the encoder uses the server URL and stream key for the correct Live Control Room stream, and confirm that the encoder is started. If VLC is involved, use verified VLC-specific instructions rather than guessed settings.
- The preview appears but the broadcast is not live: Start the broadcast in the Live Control Room after confirming the preview.
- Music triggers a warning or the stream is interrupted: Stop and review the match with the relevant rights holder. Confirm that the permission covers livestream use and ask whether the channel must be allowlisted through Content ID. A license alone may not prevent interruption when allowlisting is absent.
- A full-day replay is missing or incomplete: YouTube’s stated automatic archive rule covers streams under 12 hours; plan shorter sessions or a separate recording workflow if a complete replay is important.
- A local stream stops unexpectedly: Check computer power, network connectivity, and encoder operation. A UPS or wired connection may reduce some local risks but does not guarantee uptime.
What the audience statistic can—and cannot—tell you
YouTube for Artists reported that over 30% of daily logged-in YouTube viewers watched live content in Q2 2025. That is a platform-wide average, not a forecast of audience size for a particular Haryanvi music channel. YouTube for Artists.
