Before you switch: know what changes
LiveReacting’s migration instructions describe recreating the broadcast rather than transferring Gyre’s project settings. Plan to rebuild the media selection, playback order, title, description, schedule, and any overlays or ad markers you use; the available material does not establish that those settings transfer directly. LiveReacting’s 24/7 stream and migration page describes the channel and subscriber continuity, while noting the new live event and chat.
- Channel and subscribers: The same YouTube channel remains in use, according to LiveReacting.
- Live event and chat: The replacement is a new live video with a new chat. Do not count on the old live URL, chat history, viewer state, or event carrying over.
- Videos and setup: Bring in the media and verify it, then recreate the broadcast configuration.
- Computer: LiveReacting says the broadcast runs on its cloud infrastructure after setup, so your local computer does not need to stay on.
Prepare the channel and your content
Check YouTube live eligibility
LiveReacting says the channel must have live streaming enabled and must not have active live restrictions. Its current guide estimates that first-time live activation can take up to 24 hours; that is an estimate, not a guaranteed activation time. If live streaming is not enabled yet, do that before planning the cutover. See the vendor’s current 24/7 streaming guide for its stated requirements.
Inventory the existing broadcast
Before rebuilding anything, record the source videos and their playback order, plus the current title, description, schedule, overlays, and any ad markers you need to reproduce. Keep copies of the original media where possible: LiveReacting’s migration materials do not establish that a Gyre project or its configuration can be imported directly.

Confirm rights and monetization suitability
Use videos you own or are licensed to broadcast. LiveReacting’s guide cautions that repetitive or mass-produced content can matter for YouTube monetization and recommends variety and viewer-facing value. This is practical vendor guidance, not a substitute for checking YouTube’s current official monetization policies; the policy wording was not independently verified for this guide. Do not assume that material being available on YouTube makes it yours to rebroadcast.
Recreate the loop in LiveReacting
- Bring in your videos. Upload local files, or use a supported YouTube channel, playlist, or video link. LiveReacting says importing from YouTube links requires a paid plan. Its import guide says a batch can contain up to 100 videos and that only public videos are imported; private and region-locked videos are skipped. Review the resulting selection rather than assuming every item made it across. The vendor also lists Google Drive and Dropbox links on its Gyre comparison page. Check current interface options before relying on a particular import route.
- Choose playback structure. For a single source, create a video project and enable Loop. For several sources, create a playlist, arrange the order, then enable playlist looping or the playback behavior you want. A playlist makes it easier to rotate through a catalog; a single-video loop is simpler to configure. LiveReacting recommends variety in its monetization discussion, but that does not guarantee monetization eligibility.
- Set duration and scheduling. LiveReacting’s guide says that leaving stream duration unset lets you stop the stream manually. Confirm duration options in the current interface, along with whether your plan and workflow support any schedule you need. Do not assume a schedule or duration setting transfers from Gyre.
- Connect the same YouTube channel. LiveReacting describes connecting by channel sign-in or using a stream key. Select the route that fits your access and workflow, and verify the current UI labels. Enter the replacement live title and description and configure any schedule or overlays you need. This will create a new live broadcast rather than continue the existing live event.

Cut over without ending the channel’s broadcast first
- Keep Gyre running while you start the replacement broadcast in LiveReacting.
- Open the channel and confirm that the new live video is actually live. Check that the expected video is playing and that a playlist advances or loops as intended.
- Only after verifying the replacement, stop the Gyre stream.
- Monitor the new broadcast after the handover for playback, connection, or configuration problems.
LiveReacting explicitly recommends starting and checking the replacement before stopping the previous stream. That means a short overlap is part of the documented handover. Because the new event has a new live URL and chat, update any links or viewer directions that pointed to the old event.
Keep a recording outside the live event
LiveReacting’s guide says YouTube may fail to save live streams longer than 12 hours. Treat that as a vendor summary of YouTube behavior, not a verified current YouTube rule. If you need an archive, keep the original source files or a separate recording; do not rely on the live event as the only copy. Check YouTube’s current help information before making decisions based on how long a live event will be saved.

Troubleshoot the handover
- A video is missing after importing: The vendor says private and region-locked YouTube videos are skipped. Confirm visibility and regional availability, then upload a permitted local copy or choose an accessible source.
- The import route is unavailable: LiveReacting says channel and playlist URL import is available on paid plans. Check the current plan and interface, or upload the files directly.
- The channel cannot go live: Confirm that live streaming is enabled and that no active live restriction is blocking the channel. For first-time activation, allow for the vendor’s stated estimate of up to 24 hours rather than assuming instant access.
- The replacement is live, but the wrong video plays: Review the selected sources, playlist order, and loop or playback settings. Verify playback on the channel before you stop Gyre.
- Viewers cannot find the replacement: The new broadcast has a new live video and chat. Share the new event link instead of relying on the previous stream URL.
